On the cosmological effects of the Weyssenhoff spinning fluid in the Einstein-Cartan framework

The effects of non-Riemannian structures in Cosmology have been studied long ago and are still a relevant subject of investigation. In the seventies, it was discovered that singularity avoidance and early accelerated expansion can be induced by torsion in the Einstein-Cartan theory. In this framework, torsion is not dynamical and is completely expressed by means of the spin sources. Thus, in order to study the effects of torsion in the Einstein-Cartan theory, one has to introduce matter with spin. In principle, this can be done in several ways. In this work we consider the cosmological evolution of the universe in the presence of a constant isotropic and homogeneous axial current and the Weyssenhoff spinning fluid. This article presents a set of theoretical and analytical contributions on the phenomenon of networks, focusing on social participation structured under this format. From the contributions of the sociologist like Bruno Latour, Norbert Elias and Manuel Castells methodological and theoretical nature of approaches will be presented that serve the understanding of this social dynamic. Next will be discussed social participation in the network and its match in a new perspective about the very public policies, here understood as a set of elements and actors that interact in a process set to public action.En el presente artículo se presenta un conjunto de aportaciones teóricas y analíticas sobre el fenómeno de las redes, centrándose en la participación social estructurada bajo este formato. THE MAIN purpose of this article is to analyse the north american foreign policy from the point of view of the national interest, at the same time that is tries to articulate this notion with the self-perception of a moral basis supporting the national interest. In a second moment the article discusses the present shape of the international system and the conditions under which the american hegemony is being exercised, and up to what extent the hegemony can be threntened. Finally, it examines the present trends created after the 11th September and the Bush government attitudes towards Irak, and the unilateralism prevailing in the White House, which reached its highest level in the "Bush Doctrine" recently announced.O OBJETIVO central deste artigo é efetuar uma análise da política exterior norte-americana partindo do paradigma do interesse nacional, e ao mesmo tempo buscando integrar este paradigma com a autopercepção da existência de um fundamento moral embasado na lógica do interesse. Mobile terrestrial lidar data to detect traffic sign and light pole/ Dados de laser terrestre móvel para detectar placas de sinalização e postes de iluminação

This paper introduces a method for detecting and classifying vertical objects from a mobile terrestrial laser scanner point cloud. The paper concentrates on the classification of the top of the poles, where shields or lamps are installed. First, the variance-covariance matrix of each segmented object is computed. Then the eigenvalues and eigenvector of this matrix are derived. The 3D coordinates of each point are then transformed using the principal components transform in order to compute new features in this new space. In the second step the distribution of the three eigenvalues of the different classes in the eigenvalues space is analysed. Is it deduced that similar objects align in this space, allowing proposing a classification rule based on the distance to the lines. An experiment was performed to verify the approach performance. In the classification of different objects, the global accuracy reached 75%. When the classification was more general, separating just flat from three-dimensional objects the accuracy reached 94%. From the obtained results it can be concluded that the proposed method is feasible and allows separating objects according to its shap

Crystallization behavior of structured lipids by chemical interesterification of lard and soybean oil

The aim of this study was to evaluate the crystallization behavior of binary mixtures of lard and soybean oil in different ratios and their respective structured lipids obtained by chemical interesterification. Crystallization kinetics and polarized light microscopy were used to analyze the mixtures before and after interesterification. The addition of soybean oil changed the lard crystallization, by the effect of the dilution. Crystal diameter increased, while the number of crystals decreased, as a function of temperature. A relação entre resíduos do pós-consumo e energia: estudo de caso de viabilidade da utilização de energia renovável em cooperativa de catadores

This dissertation evaluate how the use of solar energy through a photovoltaic system can contribute to the challenge of the final destination of the residues, with social inclusion and seeking to make economically viable a collectors cooperative. A symmetrical approach is presented on the intersection between waste and energy, dealing with concepts such as: energy efficiency, waste, zero waste, final disposal of waste, recycling chains, renewable energy, avoided energy and distributed microgeneration. This work presents a synthesis of the governmental policy that takes care of the solid waste, taking as reference the Law of the National Policy of Solid Waste. In parallel, it presents the scenario that deals with the regulation of renewable energy policies. In its second part, the study establishes a connection between theory and practice by analyzing the results of field research on energy consumption at the Cielo Azul Cooperative, which specializes in electro-electronic waste. As a contribution, the survey stipulates which equipment and installations are necessary for the installation of a photovoltaic system that is alternative to that offered by the concessionaire in order to allow the reduction of electric energy expenditures. It also identifies the possible sources of financing for the implementation of the photovoltaic system and the possibilities of the cooperative to integrate to solidarity projects of microgeneration of energy.Esta dissertação busca avaliar como a utilização de energia solar, por meio de um sistema fotovoltaico, pode contribuir para o enfrentamento do desafio da destinação final dos resíduos com inclusão social, procurando tornar economicamente viável uma cooperativa de catadores. Abordando simetricamente os dois temas, é apresentada uma reflexão sobre a interseção entre resíduo e energia, tratando conceitos como: eficiência energética, lixo, resíduo zero, destinação final de resíduos, cadeias da reciclagem, energia renovável, energia evitada e microgeração distribuída. Numa via, o trabalho apresenta uma síntese da política governamental que cuida dos resíduos sólidos, tomando como referência a Lei da Política Nacional de Resíduos Sólidos. Na via paralela, apresenta o cenário que trata da regulamentação das políticas de energias renováveis. Em sua segunda parte, o estudo estabelece uma conexão entre a teoria e a realidade fazendo uma análise dos resultados da pesquisa de campo sobre o consumo de energia na Cooperativa Céu Azul, especializada em resíduos eletroeletrônicos. Como contribuição, a pesquisa dimensiona quais os equipamentos e instalações necessários para a instalação de um sistema fotovoltaico que seja alternativo ao oferecido pela concessionária de modo a permitir a redução dos gastos com energia elétrica. Também identifica as possíveis fontes de financiamento para a implantação do sistema fotovoltaico e as possibilidades da cooperativa se integrar a empreendimentos solidários de microgeração de energia

Orientações jurídicas e sociais sobre violência doméstica nas escolas municipais Deputado Audomar Ferraz e Majos João Novaes do município de Floresta – PE

Este projeto propõe orientações jurídicas e informações sobre os direitos e garantias das mulheres vítimas de violência domésticas de acordo com a lei nº 11.340, de 07 de agosto de 2006 (Lei Maria da Penha). Para que essa lei seja difundida no ambiente educacional e se torne mais acessível, com uma compreensão mais fácil para alunos, professores, pais e que todos possam ser multiplicadores da consciência igualitária entre homens e mulheres na prevenção e atenção à violência contra as mulheres. A lei 11.340/2006 existe a mais de 12 anos e por isso merece uma divulgação mais ampliada no ambiente educacional no município de Floresta, para que crianças e adolescentes já conheçam as ferramentas jurídicas e sociais da rede de proteção contra crimes no ambiente domésticos e familiar, contribuindo assim para o fortalecimento da consciência de se respeitar a todos que vivem em uma sociedade democrática e que pessoas vitimadas possam lutar e reagir no sentido de mudar sua história. Elaborou-se um projeto de intervenção, no qual, se utilizará de palestras e rodas de conversa como metodologia para compartilhar informações bem estruturadas envolvendo uma equipe interdisciplinar que tratará os fundamentos jurídicos da lei 11.340/2006. Genomic African and Native American Ancestry and Chagas Disease: The Bambui (Brazil) Epigen Cohort Study of Aging.

BackgroundThe influence of genetic ancestry on Trypanosoma cruzi infection and Chagas disease outcomes is unknown.Methodology/principal findingsWe used 370,539 Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms (SNPs) to examine the association between individual proportions of African, European and Native American genomic ancestry with T. cruzi infection and related outcomes in 1,341 participants (aged ≥ 60 years) of the Bambui (Brazil) population-based cohort study of aging. Potential confounding variables included sociodemographic characteristics and an array of health measures. The prevalence of T. cruzi infection was 37.5% and 56.3% of those infected had a major ECG abnormality. Baseline T. cruzi infection was correlated with higher levels of African and Native American ancestry, which in turn were strongly associated with poor socioeconomic circumstances. Cardiomyopathy in infected persons was not significantly associated with African or Native American ancestry levels. Infected persons with a major ECG abnormality were at increased risk of 15-year mortality relative to their counterparts with no such abnormalities (adjusted hazard ratio = 1.80; 95% 1.41, 2.32). African and Native American ancestry levels had no significant effect modifying this association.Conclusions/significanceOur findings indicate that African and Native American ancestry have no influence on the presence of major ECG abnormalities and had no influence on the ability of an ECG abnormality to predict mortality in older people infected with T. cruzi. In contrast, our results revealed a strong and independent association between prevalent T. cruzi infection and higher levels of African and Native American ancestry. Whether this association is a consequence of genetic background or differential exposure to infection remains to be determined
