Tsaryovokokokshaysk Defensive Structures
The article deals with the data of archaeological studies of Tsaryovokokokokshaysk defensive structures. During archaeological studies the remains of posad fortifications â ostrog (wooden tortress), were found in the historical center of Yoshkar-Ola. The moat and the base of the poling wall were cut during archaeological excavations in 2008 and 2009 on the construction area of the cultural and historical complex "Tsaryovokokokshaysk Kremlin". Then a part of the moat, located to the south of the previously studied areas, was discovered during archaeological reconnaissance in 2013. Later in 2019, the moat and the ostrog's paling were investigated during archaeological excavations in the Kremlyovsky Housing Estate construction area south of the Tsaryovokokokokshaysky Kremlin. The results of archaeological studies of Tsaryovokokokokshaysk defensive structures allow the authors to clarify and supplement significantly archival sources and recreate the historical landscape of the city
Ultrafast Energy Transfer In Oligofluorene-aluminum Bis(8-hydroxyquinoline)acetylacetone Coordination Polymers
Understanding the excited-state dynamics in conjugated systems can lead to their better utilization in optical sensors, organic photovoltaics (OPVs), and organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs). We present the synthesis of self-assembled coordination polymers comprising two types of fluorescent moieties: discrete fluorene oligomers of a well-defined length (n = 1-9) connected via aluminum(III) bis(8-quinolinolate)acetylacetone joints. Due to their well-defined structure, these materials allowed for a detailed study of energy migration processes within the materials. Thus, femtosecond transient spectroscopy was used to study the ultrafast energy transfer from the oligofluorene to the quinolinolate moieties, which was found to proceed at a rate of 10(11) s(-1). The experimental results were found to be in agreement with the behavior predicted according to the Beljonne\u27s improved Forster model of energy transfer. In addition, the solid-state and semiconductor properties of these coordination polymers allowed for the fabrication of OLEDs. Preliminary experiments with simple two- and three-layer devices fabricated by spin-coating yield bright yellow electroluminescence with maximum brightness of 6000 cd/m(2), with a turn-on voltage of similar to 6 V and a maximum external quantum efficiency of up to 1.2%, suggesting their potential for use in PLED applications
Challenges and science-based implications for modern management and conservation of European ungulate populations
Wildlife management systems face growing challenges to cope with increasingly complex interactions between wildlife populations, the environment and human activities. In this position statement, we address the most important issues characterising current ungulate conservation and management in Europe. We present some key points arising from ecological research that may be critical for a reassessment of ungulate management in the future. Ecosystem . Population sustainability . Search for lepton-flavor violation at HERA
A search for lepton-flavor-violating interactions and has been performed with the ZEUS detector using the entire HERA I
data sample, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 130 pb^{-1}. The data
were taken at center-of-mass energies, , of 300 and 318 GeV. No
evidence of lepton-flavor violation was found, and constraints were derived on
leptoquarks (LQs) that could mediate such interactions. For LQ masses below
, limits were set on , where
is the coupling of the LQ to an electron and a
first-generation quark , and is the branching ratio of
the LQ to the final-state lepton ( or ) and a quark . For
LQ masses much larger than , limits were set on the four-fermion
interaction term for LQs that couple to an electron and a quark
and to a lepton and a quark , where and are
quark generation indices. Some of the limits are also applicable to
lepton-flavor-violating processes mediated by squarks in -Parity-violating
supersymmetric models. In some cases, especially when a higher-generation quark
is involved and for the process , the ZEUS limits are the most
stringent to date.Comment: 37 pages, 10 figures, Accepted by EPJC. References and 1 figure (Fig.

An NLO QCD analysis of inclusive cross-section and jet-production data from the ZEUS experiment
The ZEUS inclusive differential cross-section data from HERA, for charged and
neutral current processes taken with e+ and e- beams, together with
differential cross-section data on inclusive jet production in e+ p scattering
and dijet production in \gamma p scattering, have been used in a new NLO QCD
analysis to extract the parton distribution functions of the proton. The input
of jet data constrains the gluon and allows an accurate extraction of
\alpha_s(M_Z) at NLO;
\alpha_s(M_Z) = 0.1183 \pm 0.0028(exp.) \pm 0.0008(model)
An additional uncertainty from the choice of scales is estimated as \pm
0.005. This is the first extraction of \alpha_s(M_Z) from HERA data alone.Comment: 37 pages, 14 figures, to be submitted to EPJC. PDFs available at

Beauty photoproduction measured using decays into muons in dijet events in ep collisions at =318 GeV
The photoproduction of beauty quarks in events with two jets and a muon has
been measured with the ZEUS detector at HERA using an integrated luminosity of
110 pb. The fraction of jets containing b quarks was extracted from the
transverse momentum distribution of the muon relative to the closest jet.
Differential cross sections for beauty production as a function of the
transverse momentum and pseudorapidity of the muon, of the associated jet and
of , the fraction of the photon's momentum participating in
the hard process, are compared with MC models and QCD predictions made at
next-to-leading order. The latter give a good description of the data.Comment: 32 pages, 6 tables, 7 figures Table 6 and Figure 7 revised September

The dependence of dijet production on photon virtuality in ep collisions at HERA
The dependence of dijet production on the virtuality of the exchanged photon,
Q^2, has been studied by measuring dijet cross sections in the range 0 < Q^2 <
2000 GeV^2 with the ZEUS detector at HERA using an integrated luminosity of
38.6 pb^-1.
Dijet cross sections were measured for jets with transverse energy E_T^jet >
7.5 and 6.5 GeV and pseudorapidities in the photon-proton centre-of-mass frame
in the range -3 < eta^jet <0. The variable xg^obs, a measure of the photon
momentum entering the hard process, was used to enhance the sensitivity of the
measurement to the photon structure. The Q^2 dependence of the ratio of low- to
high-xg^obs events was measured.
Next-to-leading-order QCD predictions were found to generally underestimate
the low-xg^obs contribution relative to that at high xg^obs. Monte Carlo models
based on leading-logarithmic parton-showers, using a partonic structure for the
photon which falls smoothly with increasing Q^2, provide a qualitative
description of the data.Comment: 35 pages, 6 eps figures, submitted to Eur.Phys.J.
Multijet production in neutral current deep inelastic scattering at HERA and determination of alpha_s
Multijet production rates in neutral current deep inelastic scattering have
been measured in the range of exchanged boson virtualities 10 < Q2 < 5000 GeV2.
The data were taken at the ep collider HERA with centre-of-mass energy sqrt(s)
= 318 GeV using the ZEUS detector and correspond to an integrated luminosity of
82.2 pb-1. Jets were identified in the Breit frame using the k_T cluster
algorithm in the longitudinally invariant inclusive mode. Measurements of
differential dijet and trijet cross sections are presented as functions of jet
transverse energy E_{T,B}{jet}, pseudorapidity eta_{LAB}{jet} and Q2 with
E_{T,B}{jet} > 5 GeV and -1 < eta_{LAB}{jet} < 2.5. Next-to-leading-order QCD
calculations describe the data well. The value of the strong coupling constant
alpha_s(M_Z), determined from the ratio of the trijet to dijet cross sections,
is alpha_s(M_Z) = 0.1179 pm 0.0013(stat.) {+0.0028}_{-0.0046}(exp.)

Measurement of charm fragmentation ratios and fractions in photoproduction at HERA
The production of D^*+, D^0, D^+, D_s^+ and Lambda_c^+ charm hadrons and
their antiparticles in ep scattering at HERA was measured with the ZEUS
detector using an integrated luminosity of 79 pb^-1. The measurement has been
performed in the photoproduction regime with the exchanged-photon virtuality
Q^2 < 1 GeV^2 and for photon-proton centre-of-mass energies in the range 130 <
W < 300 GeV. The charm hadrons were reconstructed in the range of transverse
momentum p_T(D, Lambda_c) > 3.8 GeV and pseudorapidity |eta(D, Lambda_c)| <
1.6. The production cross sections were used to determine the ratio of neutral
and charged D-meson production rates, R_u/d, the strangeness-suppression
factor, gamma_s, and the fraction of charged D mesons produced in a vector
state, P_v^d. The measured R_u/d and gamma_s values agree with those obtained
in deep inelastic scattering and in e^+e^- annihilations. The measured P_v^d
value is smaller than, but consistent with, the previous measurements. The
fractions of c quarks hadronising as a particular charm hadron, f(c -> D,
Lambda_c), were derived in the given kinematic range. The measured open-charm
fragmentation fractions are consistent with previous results, although the
measured f(c -> D^*+) is smaller and f(c -> Lambda_c^+) is larger than those
obtained in e^+e^- annihilations. These results generally support the
hypothesis that fragmentation proceeds independently of the hard sub-process.Comment: 29 pages, 5 figures, 6 tables; minor text revision
Observation of isolated high-E_T photons in deep inelastic scattering
First measurements of cross sections for isolated prompt photon production in
deep inelastic ep scattering have been made using the ZEUS detector at the HERA
electron-proton collider using an integrated luminosity of 121 pb^-1. A signal
for isolated photons in the transverse energy and rapidity ranges 5 < E_T^gamma
< 10 GeV and -0.7 < eta^gamma < 0.9 was observed for virtualities of the
exchanged photon of Q^2 > 35 GeV^2. Cross sections are presented for inclusive
prompt photons and for those accompanied by a single jet in the range E_T^jet
\geq 6 GeV and -1.5 \leq eta^jet < 1.8. Calculations at order alpha^3alpha_s
describe the data reasonably well.Comment: 16 pages, 5 figure
