No âmbito
todas as hipóteses sido suportadas.
do surf.
Surf is currently an activity that already assumes great international
relevance. There has also been a growing interest in surf tourism, due
to the size of the demand and major impacts of this type of tourism.
Despite the recognition of the specificity of the surf culture and the
references in literature to the interest in the surf culture, there is no indepth
characterization of this culture, neither empirical research that
evaluates the image of surf destinations. Consequently, it is not possible
to understand if surf culture has an impact on the development of a surf
destination overall image, which greatly determines the competitiveness
of these destinations.
Through a mixed approach, the present study intends to fill some
limitations identified in the literature. First, through a qualitative study we
sought to obtain a detailed perspective on the surf culture
characteristics. This study revealed, among other aspects, values,
behaviors, knowledges, symbols and beliefs, very characteristic of surf
culture.
A second quantitative study aimed to analyze the influence of a surf
destination image in terms of surf culture on the overall image of that
destination. In the scope of this study, a conceptual model was
proposed and tested on a sample of 430 Peniche visitors, using
structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM), and the hypotheses were all
supported. Overall, results reveal a positive influence of Peniche's
image regarding surf culture on the overall image of this destination, as
well the influence of this overall image on future behavioral intentions
towards the destination. There was also a positive effect of surf
involvement on surf culture perception. The study thus highlights the
importance of providing visitors opportunities to experience the surf
culture, in destinations where surf is particularly relevant and to promote
these destinations based on surf culture. This is particularly relevant for
attracting visitors who are more involved with surf.
The study provides contributions to an appropriate management of surf
destinations, regarding, particularly, the development of the image of
these destinations, and especially, that concerning the surf culture.Programa Doutoral em Turism
Spherical f-tilings by two non congruent classes of isosceles triangles - I
The theory of f-tilings is related to the theory of isometric foldings, initiated by S. Robertson [8] in 1977.
The study of dihedral f-tilings of the Euclidean sphere
by triangles and r-sided regular polygons was initiated in
2004, where the case r=4rge 5fmathcal{F}_{k, alpha}mathcal{E}_{alpha}mathcal{L}_{k}, ; kgeq 3, ; alpha>frac{pi}{2}mathcal{G}$.
The combinatorial structure including the symmetry group of each
tiling is also given.
Dawson and Doyle in [6], [7] have also been working on spherical tilings, relaxing the edge to edge condition
Technological Mapping of the Photovoltaic Solar Energy Industry by Patent Documents Deposited in Brazil
Photovoltaic solar energy is a renewable form of electricity obtained directly from solar radiation using a semiconductor device called a photovoltaic cell. This article aims to map and identify the main characters and the evolution of the technological challenges presented by the technologies involving photovoltaic solar energy by monitoring patent documents filed between 2003 and 2011. Making it possible for the public to ensure, in practice, the way the expertise obtained from the technical information in documents can aggregate knowledge of a technological standpoint, applied to the photovoltaic solar energy field. So, the study methodology uses the analysis of patent applications filed in the Brazilian office extracted from PatBase® (Minesoft)®. The main areas are: (a) semiconductor devices sensitive to infra-red radiation, light, electromagnetic radiation of shorter wavelength, and others; (b) assemblies consisting of a plurality of individual semiconductor or other solid state devices; and, (c) coating by vacuum evaporation, by sputtering or by ion implantation of the coating forming material. This sector is highly influenced by governmental politics such as The Brazilian Normative Resolution 482 of the National Electric Energy Agency (ANEEL) and The Green Patents Program of The Brazilian National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI)
Incidence of oropharyngeal dysphagia in institutionalized patients with spastic tetraparetic cerebral palsy
PURPOSE: To verify the incidence of oropharyngeal dysphagia in institutionalized patients with spastic tetraparetic cerebral palsy, correlating the findings with food consistency and type of hydration. METHODS: A total of 140 patients, with an average of 28 years old, participated in the study. The following data were gathered from their medical records: swallowing impairment, as classified according to the ROGS protocol; feeding type and food consistencies; hydration type. RESULTS: It was observed the presence of different degrees of oropharyngeal dysphagia, and most of the patients (40%) had functional deglutition. From the patients with functional deglutition and mild dysphagia, the majority, 65% and 50% respectively, were put on a doughy-consistency-based diet. From the patients with moderate dysphagia, 66.7% were put on a semi-liquid-consistency-based diet, and 94.7% of the patients with severe dysphagia used alternative feeding means. From the total number of patients, 63.6% had a liquid diet, and 10.7% received gelatin as hydration. CONCLUSION: The incidence of oropharyngeal dysphagia, adding its different impairment degrees, was high among patients with spastic tetraparetic cerebral palsy, although functional deglutition was the most often found. Doughy consistency food was more common among patients diagnosed with functional deglutition and mild dysphagia. Most patients with severe dysphagia used alternative feeding means. Fine liquid was more often found as the hydration type for most patients, and it was frequently substituted by gelatin depending on the severity of the swallowing impairment.OBJETIVO: Verificar a incidência de disfagia orofaríngea em pacientes com paralisia cerebral do tipo tetraparesia espástica institucionalizados, correlacionando os achados com a consistência alimentar ingerida e o tipo de hidratação.
Workshop Report
Climate is the planetary response of the atmospheric circulation to changes in its composition, the solar system configuration, Earth’s rotation, and the distribution of the oceans and continents. As a result, it is continuously evolving, expressed at a global scale by subsiding and uplifting convection cells. These changes have long been recognized and documented in geologic objects of all ages. There are climate signals in many rocks, different geologic features, fossil fragments and imprints, prehistoric remains, and historical reports that can be analyzed and interpreted in order to learn more about past climate changes. Lessons from the past support the view that change is the rule, not the exception, as evidenced by strongly contrasting and chaotic extremes, defined by the whole ensemble of extra-planetary, external, and internal geodynamic controls.Instituto Terra e Memória, Centro Geociências U.Coimbra_ UID_73info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio

Tretinoin-based formulations - influence of concentration and vehicles on skin penetration
Tretinoin is used in the management of acne and it is part of a gold standard treatment for photoaging. It has also been reported as an agent for superficial chemical peeling in highly concentrated formulations with few considerations about skin penetration. The aim of this study was to evaluate the influence of drug concentration and vehicles currently used on skin penetration of tretinoin. In vitro permeation tests were carried out using Franz diffusion cells fitted with porcine ear skin and 10% aqueous methanol in the receptor compartment. Formulations studied, cream or hydroalcoholic dispersion, containing 0.25%, 1% and 5% of tretinoin were placed in the donor compartment for six hours. Tretinoin concentration in skin layers was measured by high performance liquid chromatography. The largest amount of tretinoin from both vehicles was detected in stratum corneum with significant differences among the three concentrations. The hydroalcoholic dispersion was the best vehicle. Significant amounts of tretinoin were found even in deep layers of epidermis. The formulation with 0.25% tretinoin showed better results when considered the amount of tretinoin on skin in terms of percentage. Finally, skin penetration of tretinoin was influenced by vehicle and concentration of this drug used in formulation
Strategic Talent Management: The Impact of Employer Branding on the Affective Commitment of Employees
In a globalization context, underlined by the speed of technological transformation and
increasingly competitive markets, the perspective of human capital, as an asset of strategic importance,
stands out in di erentiating human resource practices. Under this reality, the employer branding (EB)
concept gains more and more importance as a strategic tool to attract, retain, and involve human
capital, given that this has become a source of competitive advantage to companies. Within this context,
this study aimed to evaluate the relationship between employer branding strategies implemented by
organizations, as well as their impact on the employee’s a ective commitment, evident in certain
organizational cultures, which are sustained over time. The methodological framework applied to
this study is quantitative, and the data collection was carried out with the application of an employer
branding and an a ective commitment questionnaire. To achieve a good representation of the active
population, the sample of the quantitative study was composed of 172 individuals, working in the
public and private sectors in Portugal, exercising di erent positions in the di erent sectors of activity.
Results obtained with these techniques indicate a high level of a ective organizational commitment
(AOC) of employees in the organizations surveyed, suggesting that a ective commitment develops
when the individual becomes involved and identifies with the organization.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio
