Online influence, offline violence: Language Use on YouTube surrounding the 'Unite the Right' rally
The media frequently describes the 2017 Charlottesville ‘Unite the Right’ rally as a turning point for the alt-right and white supremacist movements. Social movement theory suggests that the media attention and public discourse concerning the rally may have engendered changes in social identity performance and visibility of the alt-right, but this has yet to be empirically tested. The presence of the movement on YouTube is of particular interest, as this platform has been referred to as a breeding ground for the alt-right. The current study investigates whether there are differences in language use between 7142 alt-right and progressive YouTube channels, in addition to measuring possible changes as a result of the rally. To do so, we create structural topic models and measure bigram proportions in video transcripts, spanning approximately 2 months before and after the rally. We observe differences in topics between the two groups, with the ‘alternative influencers’, for example, discussing topics related to race and free speech to a larger extent than progressive channels. We also observe structural breakpoints in the use of bigrams at the time of the rally, suggesting there are changes in language use within the two groups as a result of the rally. While most changes relate to mentions of the rally itself, the alternative group also shows an increase in promotion of their YouTube channels. In light of social movement theory, we argue that language use on YouTube shows that the Charlottesville rally indeed triggered changes in social identity performance and visibility of the alt-right
The Influence of 5% KOH Immersion for Seaweed as Raw Materials for Air Freshener Gel
The effect of submersion KOH 5% for seaweed as raw materials products air freshener gel has been studied. Seaweed in Indonesia has a big potentially and it is commonly used in food products, beverages, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics. This research aims to use seaweed as a feedstock gel air freshener. Soaking seaweed with KOH was conducted to determine the nature of the water content and gel strength of the gel air freshener products generated given the scent of oranges and cloves. KOH concentration used was 5%. The results showed the water content of seaweed with KOH soaked lower than without KOH, whereas the gel strength with marinated seaweed KOH higher than without KOH. The results of organoleptic test, in this case the sense of smell, the air freshener gel product indicates that the product that uses citrus scent perfuming/lemon, panelists preferred more than the product is scented gel air freshener clove oil
An O(n^3)-Time Algorithm for Tree Edit Distance
The {\em edit distance} between two ordered trees with vertex labels is the
minimum cost of transforming one tree into the other by a sequence of
elementary operations consisting of deleting and relabeling existing nodes, as
well as inserting new nodes. In this paper, we present a worst-case
-time algorithm for this problem, improving the previous best
-time algorithm~\cite{Klein}. Our result requires a novel
adaptive strategy for deciding how a dynamic program divides into subproblems
(which is interesting in its own right), together with a deeper understanding
of the previous algorithms for the problem. We also prove the optimality of our
algorithm among the family of \emph{decomposition strategy} algorithms--which
also includes the previous fastest algorithms--by tightening the known lower
bound of ~\cite{Touzet} to , matching our

Contrasting Human- and Machine-Generated Word-Level Adversarial Examples for Text Classification
Research shows that natural language processing models are generally considered to be vulnerable to adversarial attacks; but recent work has drawn attention to the issue of validating these adversarial inputs against certain criteria (e.g., the preservation of semantics and grammaticality). Enforcing constraints to uphold such criteria may render attacks unsuccessful, raising the question of whether valid attacks are actually feasible. In this work, we investigate this through the lens of human language ability. We report on crowdsourcing studies in which we task humans with iteratively modifying words in an input text, while receiving immediate model feedback, with the aim of causing a sentiment classification model to misclassify the example. Our findings suggest that humans are capable of generating a substantial amount of adversarial examples using semantics-preserving word substitutions. We analyze how human-generated adversarial examples compare to the recently proposed TEXTFOOLER, GENETIC, BAE and SEMEMEPSO attack algorithms on the dimensions naturalness, preservation of sentiment, grammaticality and substitution rate. Our findings suggest that human-generated adversarial examples are not more able than the best algorithms to generate natural-reading, sentiment-preserving examples, though they do so by being much more computationally efficient
Fixed Point and Aperiodic Tilings
An aperiodic tile set was first constructed by R.Berger while proving the
undecidability of the domino problem. It turned out that aperiodic tile sets
appear in many topics ranging from logic (the Entscheidungsproblem) to physics
(quasicrystals) We present a new construction of an aperiodic tile set that is
based on Kleene's fixed-point construction instead of geometric arguments. This
construction is similar to J. von Neumann self-reproducing automata; similar
ideas were also used by P. Gacs in the context of error-correcting
computations. The flexibility of this construction allows us to construct a
"robust" aperiodic tile set that does not have periodic (or close to periodic)
tilings even if we allow some (sparse enough) tiling errors. This property was

Legal Certainty in the Pawn Guarantee System in Indonesia in Anticipation of Opportunities and Challenges of Global Economic Competition
The Credit system with guarantee pledge long has its roots in public life in Indonesia based on settings in the KUH Perdata article 1150. Advantages of the credit system with the pawn lies in a simple procedure and based on the principle of inbezet stelling who controlled goods are considered as owner. In the development system pawn shops especially with modern business, trends start in doubt because of suspicions about pawn shops as holding “barang tada” (stolen). This weakness appears due to legal certainty in the pawn guarantee system in Indonesia is related to the responsibility of PT Pegadaian Indonesia, against the pawn shops and the dispute resolution system. It became the focused of the problem in this research by using the methods of normative legal research found that interest in system pawn shops quite high in Indonesia. The fundamental weakness of the system has not been applied to pawn shops customer recognition system it must be addressed in improving public confidence towards the pawn shops to be able to compete with other financial institutions in globalization. El potencial impacto económico de la pandemia por COVID-19 en las regiones argentinas y sus patrones productivos sectoriales en el periodo abril-junio de 2020
The goal of this paper is to assess the resilience of Portuguese banks to the potential impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. For this
purpose, diagnostic variables of 19 banks were selected and prioritized using linear ordering methods. This methodology allowed us
to perform rankings of banks using six linear ordering methods and taking into account two weighting procedures and two variants of
the diagnostic feature. The study was also supplemented by a sensitivity analysis and an optimization procedure aimed at identifying
the optimal linear ordering method. The main results obtained show that the resilience of Portuguese banks is not evenly distributed
among individual banks. These findings could be used by regulators to plan support measures for the most fragile banks
Satellite DNA evolution in Corvoidea inferred from short and long reads
Satellite DNA (satDNA) is a fast-evolving portion of eukaryotic genomes. The homogeneous and repetitive nature of such satDNA causes problems during the assembly of genomes, and therefore it is still difficult to study it in detail in nonmodel organisms as well as across broad evolutionary timescales. Here, we combined the use of short- and long-read data to explore the diversity and evolution of satDNA between individuals of the same species and between genera of birds spanning ~40 millions of years of bird evolution using birds-of-paradise (Paradisaeidae) and crow (Corvus) species. These avian species highlighted the presence of a GC-rich Corvoidea satellitome composed of 61 satellite families and provided a set of candidate satDNA monomers for being centromeric on the basis of length, abundance, homogeneity and transcription. Surprisingly, we found that the satDNA of crow species rapidly diverged between closely related species while the satDNA appeared more similar between birds-of-paradise species belonging to different genera
