The transport of dangerous substance should be professional, responsible and careful One of these substances is Methanol, which is an alcohol very toxic and flamable, for that reason must be transport with all precautions, unfortunately at the present we are ignorants about the proper handling of this kind of substance, for that reason is possible to find some vehicles without the proper mark o label of dangerous substances, or some drivers do not handle the vehicle in don´t the right way making dangerous operation of the truck. In Colombia there are some laws and restrictions for the transport of dangerous substances, such as the Decree 1609 which explain the requirements for the transport of hazardous substances. Besides, is possible to find some other techical standards that regulate this transport. Finally, with this article I wish to identify conditions are required to offer what a good quality in the transport of Methanol

Greenhouse gas emissions from intra-national freight transport: Measurement and scenarios for greater sustainability in Spain

Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions is a topic of major concern worldwide. Following previous articles which provide a methodology for estimating GHG emissions associated with international trade by transport mode at the world level, in this paper, we estimate an equivalent database of GHG emissions for inter-regional trade flows within a country (Spain). To this end, we built a new database of GHG emissions for origin-destination flows between Spanish provinces during 1995-2015. For each year, we combine industry-specific flows by four transport modes (road, train, ship and aircraft) with the corresponding GHG emissions factor for each mode in tons*km, drawn from the specialized literature. With this dataset of GHG emissions, we generate and analyze the temporal, sectoral and spatial pattern of Spanish inter-regional GHG flows. We then forecast emissions for 2016-2030 and consider how transport mode shifts might produce a more sustainable freight system within the country through the substitution of environmentally friendly alternatives (railway) for specific origin-destination-product flows in high-polluting modes (road). This paper was developed in the context of two research projects: (i) the C-intereg Project (www.c-intereg.es); (ii) The ECO2016-79650-P project from the Spanish Ministry of Economics and Innovatio

Heat and moisture insulation by means of air curtains: application to refrigerated chambers

    Get PDF
The present study is devoted to the determination of the efficiency of air curtain units (ACUs) applied to heat and moisture insulation of refrigerated chambers. A detailed study of the fluid dynamics and heat and mass transfer of the ACU in the refrigerated space and the external ambient is carried out by means of large eddy simulations (LES). The heat and moisture entrainment through the doorway and their transport inside the inner space are fully described. Three different configurations are studied: non-recirculating, recirculating and twin-jet air curtains. The condensation produced in the cool walls of the refrigerated space is evaluated considering the warm humid air from the ambient which penetrates inside the chamber through the doorway. The influence of both the discharge velocities and the discharge angles on the sealing capabilities of the three different tested ACU configurations is determined.Peer ReviewedPostprint (author's final draft

This study was aimed at investigating the perceptions that teacher trainers, trainees and alumni had regarding assessment systems implemented at the Faculty of Physical Activity and Sport Sciences of the University of Léon (Spain). A specific questionnaire named Questionnaire for the study of assessment systems used in physical education teachers' initial training was applied to a sample of 24 teacher trainers, 43 trainees and 35 alumni. Data obtained were analyzed through descriptive statistics, and a Mann-Whitney U test for detecting differences among groups. Results show similar perceptions between trainees and alumni, and important differences between them and the teacher trainers. The main differences were found in: a) coherence between programs and assessment systems, b) use of assessment in a formative way, c) presence of cognitive capacities in assessment systems, and d) potential causes of inadequate assessment systems. Smaller differences were found in assessment tools, and remarkable similarities in grading systems. We conclude that teacher trainers' perceptions are closer to formative assessment processes than trainees' and alumni's, who generally perceive more traditional based assessment systems. Some reflections and orientations for future research are also provided.

The implantation of the new Architecture Degree and the important normative changes in the building sector imply the need to use new teaching methodologies that enhance skills and competences in order to response to the increasing requirements demanded by society to the future architect. The aim of this paper is to present, analyze and discuss the development of multidisciplinary workshops as a new teaching methodology used in several Construction subjects of the Architecture Degree in the University of Alicante. Workshops conceived with the aim to synthesize and complement the technical knowledge acquired by the students during the Degree and to enhance the skills and competencies necessary for the professional practice. With that purpose, we decided to experiment on current subjects of the degree during this academic year, by applying the requirements defined in the future Architecture Degree in a practical way, through workshops between different subjects, superposing the technical knowledge with the resolution of constructive problems in the development of an architectural project. Developing these workshops between subjects we can dissolve the traditional boundaries between different areas of the Degree. This multidisciplinary workshop methodology allows the use of all the global knowledge acquired by students during their studies and at the same time, it enhances students’ ability to communicate and discuss their ideas and solutions in public. It also increases their capacity of self-criticism, and it foments their ability to undertake learning strategies and research in an autonomous way. The used methodology is based on the development of a practical work common to several subjects of different knowledge areas within the "Technology Block" of the future Architecture Degree. Thus, students work approaching the problem in a global way discussing simultaneously with teachers from different areas. By using these new workshops we stimulate an interactive class versus a traditional lecture. Work is evaluated continuously, valuing the participative pupil´s attitude, working in groups in class time, reaching weekly objectives and stimulating the individual responsibility and positive interdependence of the pupil inside the working group. The exercises are designed to improve students’ ability to transmit their ideas and solutions in public, knowing how to discuss and defend their technical resolutions to peers and teachers (Peer Reviewing), their capacity for self-criticism and their capacity to undertake strategies and autonomous learning processes at the same time they develop a personal research into new technologies, systems and materials. Students have shown their majority preference for this teaching methodology by the multidisciplinary workshops offered in the last years, with very satisfactory academic results. In conclusion, it can be verified nowadays the viability of the introduction of new contents and new teaching methodologies necessary for the acquisition of the skills in the future Architecture Degree, through workshops between several subjects that have had a great acceptance in students and positive contrasted academic results
