EL ROLE-PLAY EN LA ENSEÑANZA COMUNICATIVA DE LENGUAS EXTRANJERAS ROLE-PLAY

El artículo aborda las implicaciones que tiene la elección del role-play como técnica para emplear de manera cotidiana en la enseñanza-aprendizaje de lenguas extranjeras. Se realiza un análisis de las particularidades que tiene su uso en Cuba, así como algunos problemas de concepción y aplicación que afectan el desarrollo del inglés en los estudiantes cubanos. Además, se profundiza en la diferencia que se establece entre el alcance de esta técnica cuando se emplea de manera guiada y controlada por el profesor, y la variante problémica, que demanda la independencia en la activación y empleo del inglés por parte de los estudiantes. ABSTRACT The article refers to the implications assumed when one chooses the role-play as an everyday technique for the teaching-learning of foreign languages. There is an analysis carried out about the particularities of its use in Cuba, as well as some conception and application problems which affect the development of English in the Cuban students. There is also a discrimination of the potentials of this technique when applied by the teacher in a controlled and guided way from the problemic variant which calls for independence in the activation and use of the English internalized by the students. A comprehensive asteroseismic modelling of the high-amplitude delta Scuti star RV Arietis

We present a comprehensive asteroseismic study of the double-mode high-amplitude delta Scuti star HD 187642 (RV Arietis). The modelling includes some of the most recent techniques: 1) effects of rotation on both equilibrium models and adiabatic oscillation spectrum, 2) non-adiabatic study of radial and non-radial modes, 3) relationship between the fundamental radial mode and the first overtone in the framework of Petersen diagrams. The analysis reveals that two of the observed frequencies are very probably identified as the fundamental and first overtone radial modes. Analysis of the colour index variations, together with theoretical non-adiabatic calculations, points to models in the range of [7065,7245] K in effective temperature and of [1190, 1270] Myr in stellar age. These values were found to be compatible with those obtained using the three other asteroseismic techniques.Comment: accepted for publication in A&

La cooperación como vía para el logro de la comunicación grupal

El presente trabajo aborda la comunicación como la base de la educación y como un proceso trascendental en la formación de la personalidad. Se hace un breve análisis sobre la evolución de la enseñanza del inglés como idioma extranjero y el lugar que ocupó la comunicación en cada momento dentro del proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje en el contexto del grupo. Se incluyen además criterios sobre la comunicación, desde el punto de vista filosófico, psicológico y pedagógico. Por último, se exponen criterios referidos a la introducción del trabajo cooperativo de manera que abarque la formación del educando desde una perspectiva cognitiva, afectiva y actitudinal, a diferencia de las propuestas de otros autores en este sentido, que ponen énfasis en el aspecto cognitivo y relegan los demás como medios para lograr el fin, el aprendizaje del idioma extranjero.This work deals with communication as the basis for education and as a paramount process for the formation of the students’ personality. It includes a brief analysis on the evolution of the teaching of English as a foreign language and its role in every moment within the teaching-learning process in school groups. It also contains some criteria about communication from the philosophical, psychological and pedagogical point of view. La autonomía en el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje no presencial de lenguas extranjeras en la universidad de Matanzas

This article deals with the analysis of autonomy in the foreign language teaching-learning process in the context of the social distance imposed by the Covid-19 pandemics. Such reality led the Cuban university to implement emergency changes in its system, assuming features of distance education, particularized in a distance learning format. Such is the case of Matanzas University Language School, which faculty searched for ways of improving the students’ autonomy from a developmental perspective. Meanwhile, technology, with its virtual environment, reached untold levels of preponderance. The results of teaching, the methodological activity, the interaction with the students and the continuous diagnosis update, favored the identification of theoretical positioning reflected in this work, as well as the best practices in favor of the assimilation of strategies, the cooperation and help levels offer. As a result, we share criteria about the co-direction of the process, as well as the best practices, focused on a student who becomes more and more autonomous and committed with the social assignment of his future profession.El artículo aborda el análisis de la autonomía en el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje de lenguas extranjeras en el contexto del distanciamiento social que ha impuesto la pandemia de la Covid-19. Esta realidad condujo a la universidad cubana a adoptar cambios emergentes en su sistema, que asumió rasgos de la educación a distancia, concretados en una modalidad no presencial. Tal fue el caso de la Facultad de Idiomas de la Universidad de Matanzas, con un colectivo pedagógico que se implicó en la búsqueda de las vías y formas de favorecer la autonomía de sus estudiantes desde una perspectiva desarrolladora. Mientras tanto, la tecnología con sus entornos virtuales alcanzó niveles inéditos de preponderancia. Los resultados de la actividad docente-metodológica, el intercambio con los estudiantes y el seguimiento al diagnóstico en general permitieron identificar las posiciones teóricas que se reflejan en este trabajo, así como las mejores prácticas en favor de la asunción de estrategias, la cooperación y el ofrecimiento de niveles de ayudas. Como resultado, se comparten criterios sobre la codirección del proceso, así como las mejores prácticas, en función de un estudiante que se muestre cada vez más autónomo y comprometido con el encargo social de su futura profesión

Marco conceptual para ordenación de cuencas a partir de la sistematización del proyecto piloto para Colombia de la cuenca del río Pamplonita

Since the issuance of Decree 1729 of 2002, the need for the management of watersheds and the concepts, objectives and scope of the corresponding management plans in the country was established. The final purpose of this exercise is to define and logically and coherently link the key concepts and variables necessary to address research focused on the organization and management of watersheds. In addition, verify the state of the art and determine future research needs. For its elaboration a recognition of the literature concerning the topic was carried out, an evaluation and follow-up of the progress reports delivered by each of the components, the conclusions that came out as a result of the weekly work tables of the technical and administrative teams, the design and reading of a format applied during the systematization of the experience, and the technical analysis of the guide for the river basin development and management plans.  A conceptual framework was constructed with the terms of greatest importance to be managed by a team that participates in management processes during the various phases of a study. A clear conceptual framework allows to guide the research, provides a review to decipher and understand the results of the study and facilitates the production of new knowledge and the articulation between the technical teams for the fulfillment of the objectives during the development of river basin management plans (POMCA). Taking as a reference, the experiences lived during the execution of this study, it can be said that it is fundamental that in the preparation and during the beginning of the diagnosis, professionals hold conceptualization meetings so that the different products to be obtained show a joint participation from the different knowledge groups.A partir de la expedición del Decreto 1729 de 2002, se estableció la necesidad de la ordenación de las cuencas y los conceptos, objetivos e importancia de los planes de manejo correspondientes en el país. El propósito final de éste ejercicio es definir y vincular lógica y coherentemente los conceptos claves y variables necesarios para abordar investigaciones focalizadas en la ordenación y administración de cuencas hidrográficas. Además, verificar el estado del arte y determinar las necesidades investigativas futuras. Para su elaboración se llevó a cabo un reconocimiento de la literatura concerniente al tema, una evaluación y seguimiento de los informes de avance entregados por cada uno de los componentes, las conclusiones que salieron como resultado de las mesas de trabajo semanal del equipo técnico y administrativo, el diseño y lectura de un formato aplicado durante la sistematización de la experiencia, y el análisis de la guía técnica para la formulación de los planes de ordenación y manejo de cuencas hidrográficas. Se construyó un marco conceptual con los términos de mayor importancia para ser manejados por un equipo que participe en procesos de ordenación en el transcurso de las diversas fases de un estudio. Un marco conceptual claro permite orientar la investigación, brinda una reseña para descifrar y comprender los resultados del estudio y facilita la producción de nuevo conocimiento y la articulación entre los equipos técnicos para el cumplimiento de los objetivos durante la formulación de Planes de ordenación y manejo de cuencas hidrográficas (POMCA). Teniendo como referencia las experiencias vividas durante la realización de este estudio, se puede decir que es fundamental que en el aprestamiento y durante el inicio del diagnóstico, los profesionales realicen reuniones de conceptualización para que los diferentes productos a obtener muestren una participación conjunta desde los diferentes saberes

Análisis del sistema productivo de la empresa de producción de petróleo del centro

Introduction.  At present, thanks to the incessant work for the recovery of the economy, it is sought that each process is properly organized with the purpose of achieving greater effectiveness and efficiency and therefore an increase in productivity. Objective. The objectives that are pursued with the realization of this work are: Characterize the Oil Production Company of the Center by means of the application of the variables; Describe the crude oil treatment process at the Plant belonging to the Central Oil Production Company; Apply the General Problem-Solving Method when a fault occurs in the Varadero-Cárdenas pipeline. Methodology.  A characterization of the Crude Processing Plant is offered, which represents the area under study within the Company.  Together, the procedure and the tools that were used are presented. Results.  It is recommended to apply solutions such as: improving the preparation of the workers in charge of operating the Varadero-Cárdenas pipeline.  Apply the missing coating in a section of the duct; check more frequently the valves present in the pipeline on a weekly basis; make workers aware of the need to work correctly in the pipeline to avoid environmental contamination. Conclusion.  The main existing problems in the area that affect the health of workers and their performance in the company's production plan were detected.  The procedure used evidenced its convenient use to comply with the objectives set and allowed the preparation of a proposal for actions.Introducción. En la actualidad gracias a la incesante labor por la recuperación de la economía se busca que cada proceso esté debidamente organizado con el propósito de alcanzar una mayor eficacia y eficiencia y por ende un incremento de productividad. Objetivo. Los objetivos que se persigue con la realización de este trabajo son: Caracterizar a la Empresa de Producción de Petróleo del Centro mediante la aplicación de las variables; Describir el proceso de tratamiento de crudo en la Planta perteneciente a la Empresa de Producción de Petróleo del Centro; Aplicar el Método General de Solución de Problemas cuando se presenta una avería en el ducto Varadero- Cárdenas. Metodología. Se ofrece una caracterización de la Planta de procesamiento de crudos, la cual representa el área objeto de estudio dentro de la Empresa. Conjuntamente se presenta el procedimiento y las herramientas que fueron empleadas. Resultados. Se recomienda aplicar soluciones como: mejorar la preparación de los obreros encargados de operar el ducto Varadero- Cárdenas. Aplicar el recubrimiento que falta en una sección del ducto; revisar con mayor frecuencia las válvulas presentes en el ducto de forma semanal; concientizar a los obreros sobre la necesidad de trabajar correctamente en el ducto para evitar contaminación ambiental. Conclusión. Se detectaron los principales problemas existentes en el área que afectan la salud de los trabajadores y su desempeño en el plan de producción de la empresa. El procedimiento empleado evidenció su conveniente utilización para dar cumplimiento a los objetivos trazados y permitió elaborar una propuesta de acciones. The traits of "trait ecologists" : An analysis of the use of trait and functional trait terminology

Trait and functional trait approaches have revolutionized ecology improving our understanding of community assembly, species coexistence, and biodiversity loss. Focusing on traits promotes comparability across spatial and organizational scales, but terms must be used consistently. While several papers have offered definitions, it remains unclear how ecologists operationalize "trait" and "functional trait" terms. Here, we evaluate how researchers and the published literatures use these terms and explore differences among subdisciplines and study systems (taxa and biome). By conducting both a survey and a literature review, we test the hypothesis that ecologists' working definition of "trait" is adapted or altered when confronting the realities of collecting, analyzing and presenting data. From 486 survey responses and 712 reviewed papers, we identified inconsistencies in the understanding and use of terminology among researchers, but also limited inclusion of definitions within the published literature. Discrepancies were not explained by subdiscipline, system of study, or respondent characteristics, suggesting there could be an inconsistent understanding even among those working in related topics. Consistencies among survey responses included the use of morphological, phonological, and physiological traits. Previous studies have called for unification of terminology; yet, our study shows that proposed definitions are not consistently used or accepted. Sources of disagreement include trait heritability, defining and interpreting function, and dealing with organisms in which individuals are not clearly recognizable. We discuss and offer guidelines for overcoming these disagreements. The diversity of life on Earth means traits can represent different features that can be measured and reported in different ways, and thus, narrow definitions that work for one system will fail in others. We recommend ecologists embrace the breadth of biodiversity using a simplified definition of "trait" more consistent with its common use. Trait-based approaches will be most powerful if we accept that traits are at least as diverse as trait ecologists.Peer reviewe

Performance Study of Split Ferrite Cores Designed for EMI Suppression on Cables

The ideal procedure to start designing an electronic device is to consider the electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) from the beginning. Even so, EMC problems can appear afterward, especially when the designed system is interconnected with external devices. Thereby, electromagnetic interferences (EMIs) could be transmitted to our device from power cables that interconnect it with an external power source or are connected to another system to establish wired communication. The application of an EMI suppressor such as a sleeve core that encircles the cables is a widely used technique to attenuate EM disturbances. This contribution is focused on the characterization of a variation of this cable filtering solution based on openable core clamp or snap ferrites. This component is manufactured by two split parts pressed together by a snap-on mechanism which turns this into a quick, easy to install solution for reducing post-cable assembly EMI problems. The performance of three different materials, including two polycrystalline (MnZn and NiZn) materials and nanocrystalline (NC) solution, are analyzed in terms of effectiveness when the solid sleeve cores are split. The possibility of splitting an NC core implies an innovative technique due to the brittleness of this material. Thus, the results obtained from this research make it possible to evaluate this sample's effectiveness compared to the polycrystalline ones. This characterization is carried out by the introduction of different gaps between the different split-cores and analyzing their behavior in terms of relative permeability and impedance. The results obtained experimentally are corroborated with the results obtained by a finite element method (FEM) simulation model with the aim of determining the performance of each material when it is used as an openable core clamp

Legal medicine through the study of the clinical history has been a science with the main characteristic of change the focus of the it, through time according to the needs of each period of time, even though the human evolution; since the first techniques by the Egyptians until the latest techniques of molecular biology. However the medical responsibility has not change, still now the doctor is responsible for a failing treatment or a bad practice and his punishment can be injust depending on the time and the place.  Key words: Medicine. Injuries.La Medicina Legal a través del estudio detallado de su historia, se constituye en una ciencia cuya característica fundamental es la de haber presentado notables cambios en su enfoque a lo largo del tiempo, según las necesidades de cada época, siempre muy relacionada con la evolución misma de la humanidad; desde los primeras técnicas de conservación de cadáveres de los antiguos egipcios, hasta las modernas técnicas de biología molecular.
