Perfis conceituais de alunos ingressos em um curso ciências biológicas sobre o tema energia

O tema energia apresenta distintas definições e seu ensino configura-se um desafio nas aulas de ciências. Algumas dificuldades relacionam-se ao entendimento de um tema abstrato, incluindo a distinção de formas e fontes, a compreensão dos processos de transformação, conservação e degradação, entre outros. A partir da pergunta "O que ingressantes na graduação em Ciências biológicas pensam sobre o tema Energia?" e da teoria de perfis conceituais, buscamos, em uma investigação empírica, indícios que apontassem sobre a aprendizagem do tema. Os resultados mostram que, passando pelas atividades didáticas, as zonas de perfis conceituais dos alunos foram diferenciando-se em distintos níveis de aprofundamento, sendo mais pertinentes aquelas que evidenciaram as relações e o pensamento complexo sobre o tema energia, aspectos importantes para discussões críticas e fundamentadas cientificamente

A Arte de Des/Re/Construir Patrimônios: Debatendo intervenções em memórias e monumentos

A derrubada de uma estátua de um mercador de escravos e sua substituição por outra de uma manifestante ativista da causa negra, na Inglaterra; intervenções com tintas e pichações no monumento que ressalta bandeirantes, no Brasil. Em comum, estes casos trouxeram debates relacionados a uma disputa de narrativas e de memórias. É objetivo do presente artigo analisar processos de construção, reconstrução e destruição desse tipo de monumentos sob a ótica da sua relação com o patrimônio cultural, com a memória e os discursos de poder/resistência relacionados aos grupos sociais que os legitimam e/ou confrontam. Para isso, foi elaborado um pequeno recorrido pela literatura sobre o tema, bem como incorporados debates e matérias noticiadas em plataformas virtuais. Mediante articulação dos debates teóricos com as situações reais vivenciadas nacional e internacionalmente, foram propostas reflexões sobre os papéis da arte e da política nos processos de legitimidade social

Representatividade Afro-brasileira no Patrimônio Material Urbano: avanços e desafios

Sabe-se que o racismo enfrentado por grupos subalternizados, ainda hoje, tem rebatimentos no campo do patrimônio. É objetivo do artigo analisar a sub-representatividade de afro-brasileiros nas políticas de preservação brasileiras – com enfoque nos bens de natureza material –, pontuando ações que vêm sendo desenvolvidas para tentar sanar esse quadro e refletindo sobre desafios a serem superados para que tais grupos sociais tenham mais representatividade cultural no país

“Rompendo silêncios” : percepção do processo de aprendizagem escolar de adolescentes usuários de substâncias em cumprimento de medida socioeducativa de internação

Introdução: A adolescência é permeada por vulnerabilidades e busca por novas experiências, bem como a descoberta do novo e do diferente, geralmente com associações a grupos de pares. Essas novas sensações incluem comportamentos de risco, como o consumo de substâncias psicoativas de forma cada vez mais precoce, com comprometimentos socioemocionais, educacionais e cognitivos. Objetivo: Conhecer a percepção de adolescentes usuários de substâncias psicoativas sobre o seu processo de aprendizagem escolar durante o cumprimento da medida socioeducativa de internação. Método: Abordagem de natureza qualitativa descritiva, com procedimentos de pesquisa bibliográfica e pesquisa de campo no Centro Educacional Masculino-CEM, em Teresina-Piauí. Os sujeitos envolvidos na pesquisa foram 10 (dez) adolescentes do sexo masculino em cumprimento de medida socioeducativa de internação. Foram utilizados como instrumentos de coleta de dados a observação sistemática e entrevista coletiva semiestruturada. A análise de dados se deu por categorização por similaridade, com base nos temas abordados e em consonância com os objetivos específicos. Utilizou-se a análise de conteúdo para as 04 (quatro) categorias de dados após a realização da entrevista coletiva Resultados: Todos os adolescentes que fazem uso de substâncias psicoativas possuem distorção série/idade, e compreendem a complexidade da relação entre o processo de aprendizado e os prejuízos decorrentes do uso dessas substâncias nesse contexto, bem como os prejuízos em suas habilidades socioemocionais. Ademais, referiram-se às dificuldades de aprendizagem e dificuldades de interpretação de textos e consignas, especialmente no que tange aos conteúdos formais escolares de forma geral. Considerações Finais: o processo de aprendizagem se relaciona não apenas às questões neurobiológicas, mas também às socioculturais e familiares, fomentando a designação de que o sujeito deve ser considerado sob aspectos biopsicossociais. Assim, adolescentes usuários de substâncias psicoativas em cumprimento de medida socioeducativa de internação possuem inúmeras variáveis que prejudicam a aprendizagem de conteúdos formais e não formais, além de dificuldades de compreensão e percepção em função do uso de substâncias no seu processo de aprendizagem, que alteram suas funções cognitivas e habilidades socioemocionais.Introduction: Adolescence is flooded by vulnerabilities, the search for new experiences, as well as the discovery of new and different things, usually associated with peer groups. These new sensations includes risky behaviors such as the early use of psychoactive substances with socio-emotional, educational and cognitive impairments. Objective: Understand the perception of psychoactive substances teenager users about their school learning process during fulfillment of a severe socio-educational measure. Method: Qualitative descriptive approach, with bibliographic research methods and field research at Centro Educacional Masculino-CEM, in Teresina-Piauí. The subjects involved in this research were 10 (ten) male adolescents within severe socio-educational measure. Systematic observation and semi-structured collective interview were used as a data collection instrument. A data analysis was made by similarity categorization based on related topics and in line with specific objectives. A content analysis was used for the 04 (four) categories of data after the collective interview performance. Results: All drug users teenagers have a grade/age distortion, and they understand the complexity of the relation between the learning process and the losses caused by the drug use in this context, as well as the losses in their socioemotional habilities. Furthermore, they referred to learning difficulties, text and consignments interpretation troubles, especially regarding to formal school content. Final Considerations: the learning process is related not only to neurobiological issues, but also to socio-cultural and family ones, promoting the designation that the subject must be considered under biopsychosocial aspects. Therefore, drug users adolescents within severe socio-educational measure situation have numerous variables that impairs their formal and non-formal content learning, in addition to difficulties in understanding and perceiving the reality due to drug use on their lives, changing their cognitive functions and socio-emotional skills

Renal Myxoma in a Feline

Background: Renal neoplasms are a rare condition in felines, with metastatic lymphoma presenting the highest incidence rate. Secondary renal neoplasms are more frequent (88%) than primary renal tumors, with primary mesenquimal renal neoplasms accounting for 22% of the cases and the incidence of benign tumors not exceeding 5%. Myxomas are neoplasms in undifferentiated mesenchymal cells with abundant reproduction of the myxoid matrix, with few few case reports about this type of neoplasm in the veterinary literature. This study reports the first case of renal myxoma in a young feline afflicted by granulomatous nephritis and diagnosed with FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis).Case: A 9-month-old, male, mixed breed feline, was admitted into the Veterinary Hospital maintained by the School of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science, Botucatu, Brazil, presenting symptoms such progressive weight loss and occasional episodes of emesis for one week, progressing to anorexia, hematochezia, vocalization, lack of coordination, spasms, anuria and inability to defecate. A physical examination revealed moderate dehydration, low temperatures (< 33ºC), dyspnea (36 mpm), slight hyperglycemia (187 mg/dL) and distension of the abdomen and of the urinary bladder. The hematological assay and the serum biochemistry assay revealed neutrophilic leukocytosis, thrombocytopenia, anemia and slight uremia. In view of the severity of the neurologic signs and lack of response to the clinical treatment, the owner opted to euthanize the animal. The necropsy revealed diffused jaundice, with kidney injuries observed through the pale coloration of the tissue and irregular surface with multiple off-white small nodules distributed in a marked and diffuse way. The same injury pattern was observed markedly in the lungs and discretely in the spleen and liver. The material collected was fixed in a 10% formalin solution, and processed according to the routine technique (Hematoxylin & Eosin). The remaining samples were submitted to a histochemical analysis with the Alcian Blue and Masson’s Trichrome stains, in addition to an immunohistochemical expression test. The histopathological examination with H&E staining revealed multiple focuses of pyogranulomatous injuries in the kidneys, lungs, spleen, uvea and leptomeninges, corroborating the diagnosis of feline infectious peritonitis (FIP). In addition, there was a neoplastic proliferation of fusiform cells among an abundant myxoid matrix, evident in Alcian Blue staining. Normal renal tissue, such as glomeruli or tubules, were occasionally observed inside the neoplastic proliferation. Masson’s Trichrome technique was used to exclude the possibility of a fibroblastic origin. In addition, immunohistochemistry (IHC) was performed to confirm the diagnosis of myxoma using the Vimentin, pan-cytokeratin and p63 antibodies. Discussion: Kidney tumors are rare in veterinary medicine, but have an incidence rate four to five times greater in cats than in dogs. The veterinary literature describes myxomas located in joints, cardiac valves and ureter, but reports of myxomas afflicting the kidneys are more commons in human medicine. This tumor should be included in the differential diagnosis process for young cats with suspicions of renal neoplasms, however, to differentiate between neoplasms with a myxoid component in benign tumors. This is the first reported case of renal myxoma afflicting a young feline with feline infectious peritonitis (FIP) in the veterinary literature

Sectoral production structure of the south coast of the state Rio Grande do Sul/BR: an approach with input output

The objective of this paper was to estimate an Input Output Matrix of the South Coast of Rio Grande do Sul State in Brazil, to know the economic profile from the analysis indicators. The results of the income and employment multipliers indicated that the sectors with the greatest impact were: forest production, fishing and aquaculture; storage and mail; construction; trade; agriculture and forestry and road freight transport. In addition, key sectors of the region were considered based on the following indices: construction; other services; wood products - excluding furniture; water, sewage and waste management; manufacturing of chemicals, resins, elastomers and other transportation equipment. In general terms, activities related to forestry production, port activity and agribusiness are highly representative
