Deus e o Diabo no Grande Sertão: Veredas: Uma Leitura Antimaniqueísta

O presente trabalho, vinculando literatura e filosofia, objetiva analisar a relação dualista existente entre Deus e o Diabo no Grande sertão: veredas, de João Guimarães Rosa, procurando contrastar uma interpretação maniqueísta que comumente se faz, haja vista não estarem bem definidos e delimitados esses dois signos na narrativa em questão. Por meio de repetições contraditórias, Riobaldo, o narrador-protagonista, questiona a existência e a atuação/operância dessas forças que perpassam as mesmas veredas. Deus existe, porém é muito passivo, deixando quase todo o protagonismo para o ser humano, detentor da liberdade. E o Diabo, paradoxalmente, amedronta, mas não existe: a despeito de sugerir uma dimensão metafísico-ontológica, surge como algo demasiado humano, representação das más ações humanas. Inconformado, Riobaldo insiste em reclamar uma justa separação entre o que é bom e o que é mau, mas não consegue, pois está tudo muito misturado. Assim, pretendemos demonstrar que não há maniqueísmo nessa tessitura porque não há um dualismo radical na concepção do Bem e do Mal; não se constituem como absolutamente distinto-antagônicos.Abstract Abstract: The present work, linking literature and philosophy, aims to analyse the dualistic relationship between God and the Devil in Grande Sertão: Veredas, by João Guimarães Rosa, trying to contrast a maniqueist interpretation commonly done, considering that those two signs are not well defined and delimited in the mentioned narrative. Through contradictory repetitions, Riobaldo, the narrator-protagonist, questions the existence and the acting/performance of those forces that pervade the same paths. God exists, but he is very passive, leaving almost all the protagonism for the human being, holder of freedom. And the Devil, paradoxically, scares, but he does not exist: despite suggesting a metaphysical-ontological dimension, he appears as too human, the representation of the bad human actions. Discontented, Riobaldo insists on claiming a fair separation between what is good and what is bad, but he realizes it is impossible, because everything is very mixed. Thus, we intend to demonstrate that there is no manichaeism in that contexture, because there is not a radical dualism in the conception of Good and Evil; they are not absolutely distinct-antagonistic

Trace element geochemistry and PGE potential of noritic bodies from Uauá block, Bahia - Brazil

Preliminary field relationship and incompatible trace element geochemistry on two bodies of noritic rocks from Uauá area are discussed with the aim of evaluating their metallogenic potential. The rocks show primitive mantle normalized and chondrite normalized patterns very similar to chilled margins and parental magmas to the Bushveld and Insizwa complexes (RSA) which host major platinum group elements deposits. Structures in surface-brightness profiles of LMC and SMC star clusters: evidence of mergers?

The LMC and SMC are rich in binary star clusters, and some mergers are expected. It is important to characterize single clusters, binary clusters and candidates to mergers. We selected a sample of star clusters in each Cloud with this aim. Surface photometry of 25 SMC and 22 LMC star clusters was carried with the ESO Danish 1.54 m telescope. 23 clusters were observed for the first time for these purposes. We fitted Elson, Fall and Freeman (1987, EFF) profiles to the data, deriving structural parameters, luminosities and masses. We also use isophotal maps to constrain candidates to cluster interactions.} {The structural parameters, luminosities and masses presented good agreement with those in the literature. Three binary clusters in the sample have a double profile. Four clusters (NGC 376, K 50, K 54 and NGC 1810) do not have companions and present as well important deviations from EFF profiles. The present sample contains blue and red Magellanic clusters. Extended EFF profiles were detected in some blue clusters. We find evidence that important deviations from the body of EFF profiles might be used as a tool to detect cluster mergers.Comment: 16 pages and 8 figures. Accepted by A&

HISTÓRIA E POESIA: IMAGENS DE VILA RICA EM "ROMANCE XXI OU DAS IDEIAS”, DE CECÍLIA MEIRELES

O presente trabalho objetiva analisar o caráter historiográfico  da escrita poética de Cecília  Meireles,  revisitando  a  Ouro  Preto  colonial  no  poema  “Romance  XXI  ou  das  Ideias”. Unindo história e poesia, realidade e imaginação, Cecília Meireles faz do “Romance XXI” um dos poemas  mais  eminentes  no  que  diz  respeito  ao  valor  histórico-nacional  da  antiga  Vila  Rica.Deparamo-nos  com  um  surpreendente  esforço  do  eu-lírico  em  reconstruir,  com  "imagens", símbolos  e  vocabulário,  o  cenário  que  antecede  a  Inconfidência  Mineira.  Numa  espécie  de contemplação  indignada,  o  poema  em  epígrafe  não  somente  representa,  mas,  sobretudo, denuncia a sociedade das minas  do período colonial do Brasil. Assim, dentre as possíveis  leituras do “Romance XXI”, ressalta-se,  sobretudo, o clamor irresistível dos oprimidos e martirizados na história  da  Inconfidência,  bem  como  as  influências  das  ideias  iluministas  no  movimento  daInconfidência

Comparing attitudes of public servants and outsourced employees

Purpose – The purpose of this study was to compare and analyze the job satisfaction, organizational commitment and turnover intention of professors, technical-administrative servants and outsourced workers of the Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro (UNIRIO). Design/methodology/approach – The authors conducted analyses of variance, with the multiple comparisons made using Tukey’s post hoc tests, as well as regression analyses. The sample of 297 workers included 115 faculty members, 86 technical-administrative servants and 96 outsourced employees. Findings – The results showed that the job satisfaction of outsourced workers was significantly higher than that of the public servants. On the other hand, professors presented the highest level of affective commitment, significantly higher than technical-administrative employees and outsourced workers. Turnover intention of outsourced workers was lower than that of technical-administrative employees, despite the stability of the latter group. Practical implications – From a practical standpoint, the results may guide the development human resource management policies and practices aligned with the reality and the needs of public servants and outsourced employees, thus fostering their job satisfaction, commitment and retention. Originality/value – This study is relevant given the increased use of outsourced labor in the public administration and the relative paucity of empirical studies with this group of workers, as evidenced by the review of the national literature. Moreover, as the theme of outsourcing is quite controversial, the authors hope this new evidence contributes to the debate

Stellar luminosity functions of rich star clusters in the Large Magellanic Cloud

We show the results of deep V and I HST photometry of 6 rich star clusters in the Large Magellanic Cloud with different ages and metallicities. The number of stars with measured magnitudes in each cluster varies from about 3000 to 10000. We build stellar density and surface brightness profiles for the clusters and extract half-light radii and other structural parameters for each. We also obtain luminosity functions, Phi (Mv), down to Mv ~ 6 (m/msun > 0.6), and investigate their dependence with distance from the cluster centre well beyond their half-light radius. In all clusters we find a systematic increase in the luminosity function slope with radial distance from the centre. Among the clusters displaying significant mass segregation are the two youngest in the sample: NGC 1805 and NGC 1818. For these two clusters we obtain present-day mass functions. The NGC 1818 mass function is in excellent agreement with that derived by other authors, also using HST data. They young cluster mass function slopes differ, that of NCG 1805 being systematically steeper than NGC 1818. Since these are very young stellar systems (age < 40 Myrs), these variations may reflect the initial conditions rather than evolution due to internal dynamics.Comment: 10 pages, 24 figure

Gestão do atendimento no sistema socioeducativo na unidade de internação região norte em Santa Fé do Araguaia

Partiremos do conhecimento do Estatuto da Criança e do adolescente precisamente no art.112º - V – Seção VII - da Internação das Medidas Socioeducativas. Cabendo ressaltar que a gestão dentro do sistema é uma dimensão de atendimento socioeducativo visando a ressocialização do adolescente em questão. O objetivo final da gestão é a mudança no caráter de atendimento de Sancionatório para o pedagógico aos adolescentes que cometeram ato infracional, com aprendizagem significativa de formação de caráter para o resgate social desse adolescente. Que possam aprender a ser e se encontrar sendo capazes de tomar novas decisões e saberem resolver seus conflitos. Estudaremos a trajetória da Internação no CEIP/NORTE- Centro de Internação Provisória de Santa Fé do Araguaia-TO, desde a entrada do adolescente que chamamos de acolhida, até o cumprimento da medida imposta em decorrência do ato infracional
