Technology use in the conservative family context
The use of technology was imposed in the professional context and, also, in the social and family environment. The number of technological devices increased significantly in the lives of the individuals, it came to occupy prominent places in the physical space of the family environment and the exposure time to technology never been so high. This increase has brought ethical and moral concerns to families who do not want technology to take a place in their family lives. In this article, the focus is on the relationship between technology exposure and large conservative families. A questionnaire and interviews were conducted with a group of large catholic families to study their exposure to technology and the role of religion in this exposure
Digital influencers and online shopping: a methodological proposal
Nowadays, with the constant development of the internet, individuals are increasingly taking an active part in the digital world: they view and share content and express their opinions. In social networks, online interaction is predominant. By sharing content, anonymous individuals gain visibility, reaching thousands of people and consequently gaining thousands of followers. These people are digital influencers. Through the content they publish on social networks, digital influencers are able to influence the purchase decision of their followers. In this article, we describe the methodological strategy that will be used to collect data to study the role of digital influencers in the online purchase decision of their followers. The research is quantitative in nature, and data will be collected through a questionnaire distributed on digital channels to the Portuguese population
Visual practices with deaf students : the visual and the written in mathematics classes
This paper aims to problematize a visual mathematical practice in a public school in the state of Rio Grande do Sul by considering the following question: which curriculum implications emerge from the visual mathematical practices produced by deaf students? In order to do so, we have relied on studies of school curriculum (SILVA, 2005) in their interlocutions with Ethnomathematics (KNIJNIK, 2010, 1997; KNIJNIK et al., 2012) and Deaf Studies (PERLIN, 2004; THOMA & KRAEMER, 2009; THOMA, 2012). The research material was produced in a fraction workshop called The fractions and the time, and excerpts from a field journal. The results havepointed out possibilities of approximating Mathematics to the deaf community so that deaf students deal with this knowledge and produce visual mathematics practices that can become a legacy to those subjects

A global youth employment crisis and the transformation the labor market has been raising severe concerns and propelling worldwide recommendations for the coordination of cross-field and cross-level agents, as well as the need for coherent strategies based on research and dialogue between workers, employers, organizations and youth groups to decrease the number of NEET. In this paper, a project of educational and socio-professional intervention is presented – the project Direction Employment – which is aimed at the upskilling of NEET youth, with the objective of minimizing youth unemployment in the technology labor market, through specialized training programs and support structures that involve active synergies between researchers, trainers, industry, human resources specialists, vocational trainers and local organizations/associations. The expected results and the key indicators for measuring the desired socio-professional impact are also presented
Macrofauna edáfica sob coberturas do solo no cultivo de figo sob manejo orgânico
Soil fauna plays an important role in organic management through their effects on soil organic decomposition, nutrient mineralization, and amelioration of the soil's physical properties. This work evaluates the density and diversity of the soil macrofauna under types of cover plants in areas cultivated with Ficus carica L. under organic management. The soil macrofauna was collected in 0.25 × 0.25 m areas, down to a soil depth of 0.3 m, and at the surface layer. The treatments consisted of bahiagrass living mulch (Paspalum notatum), siratro living mulch (Macroptilium atropurpureum), and bahiagrass mulch. The highest macrofauna density and the lowest diversity were observed in bahiagrass, of which 80% were represented by ants, thus characterizing the soil under this cover crop as showing the lowest functional diversity and quality.
Gestão democrática e crise estrutural do capital: alguns apontamentos
The article, as a theoretical, documentary and bibliographic research, aims to debate the principle of democratic management in relation to the structural crisis of capital, which, according to Mészáros, begins in the 1970s. Under the guidance of these assumptions, it is observed that the consequences of this crisis affect all social complexes. Educational systems, especially those located in countries that orbit the periphery of big capital, such as Brazil, are now monitored by international organizations. These agencies have the purpose of making the State not responsible for its educational execution and financing attributions. For this, they set up exquisite monitoring processes. Democratic management for education immersed in this scenario presents itself as a principle that must corroborate with the policies to reduce state functions.
Mycobacterium bovis is the causative agent of bovine tuberculosis, a disease that affects dairy herds throughout the Brazilian territory, constituting a neglected zoonosis transmitted by raw milk and its derivatives. In this study, we evaluated the presence of M. bovis and other mycobacteria in Minas cheese obtained from open fairs in the city of São Paulo between 2012 and 2013. Samples (n = 133) were decontaminated using hexa-cetylpyridinium chloride and seeded on Stonebrink–Leslie medium. The isolates were submitted to molecular identification by TB Multiplex PCR targeting the 16S rRNA gene and amplicon nucleotide sequencing. From 16 cheese samples (12%), we obtained 26 putative colonies of Mycobacterium spp., none of which belonged to any of the Mycobacterium tuberculosis, Mycobacterium avium, or Mycobacterium intracellulare complexes. Phylogenetic analysis showed that sample sequences were grouped in a clade that includes only non-tuberculous mycobacteria with proximity to sequences obtained from Mycobacterium novocastrense (3 sequences), Mycobacterium holsaticum (1 sequence), andMycobacterium elephantis (2 sequences). Although no epidemiological evidence was found regarding the importance of oral transmission of mycobacteria in healthy people, their importance in the immunosuppressed population remains uncertain.
Effectiveness of electrical stimulation in expiratory muscle on cough of patients after stroke
Individuals with sequelae of stroke present as a common complication hypotonia and weakness of trunk muscles, in special the rectus abdominal muscle which is the main muscle activated for cough. The electrical stimulation (ES) is being widely used to fiber recruitment in many muscle groups and pathologies. The present study aimed to evaluate the efficiency of electrical stimulation with median frequencies (ETMF) in expiratory muscles strength and cough in patients with sequels of stroke. It is a quasi-experimental study (before and after) where 11 individuals were selected after stroke between 40 and 65 years, both sexes and hemodynamically stable. Patients were evaluated about clinic and respiratory scores (ventilometer, peak of expiratory flow (PEF) and manometer (MIP and MEP) and submitted to the protocol, which consisted of ETMF in expiratory muscle (abdominals rectus) with the unit of Russian current with 2,500 Hz carrier frequency modulated at 40 Hz for 15 minutes by 15 sessions. In the initial assessment evidenced decreasing in inspiratory and expiratory muscular strength (MIP, MEP) and PEF when compared to predicted values in literature. In the end of ETMF it happened an increase in MIP, MEP without statistical significance (p=0.18 and p=0.29) but the PEF has had an increase of 283.73 L/minute to 347.27 L/minute (p=0.03). It can be seen that the ETMF was effective in the improvement of the parameters evaluated, with PEF being the greatest impact and statistical significance, however further studies with larger populations are necessary to analyze this new therapeutic approach.
Aqueous-phase reforming of water-soluble compounds from pyrolysis bio-oils
Aqueous-phase reforming (APR) of model compounds of bio-oil aqueous fraction (AFB) was studied at different operating conditions. Substrate conversion, carbon-to-gas yield (CCgas) and hydrogen and alkanes production were evaluated. Levoglucosan, hydroxyacetone, furfural and acetic acid were selected as representative of AFB and tested in batch APR at different concentrations (1–5 %wt.), temperatures (175–220 ◦C) and reaction times (0.5–4 h), using 3% (wt.) Pt/CB catalysts. Best results were obtained at 220 ◦C and 1%, with 70–90% substrate conversions, 45–70% CC gas and hydrogen production up to 50 mmol per gram of total organic carbon (TOC). Catalyst stability was checked in APR of levoglucosan during five successive 4 h reaction cycles. The catalyst exhibited high stability, CCgas remained constant and hydrogen production increased and became stable after first reaction cycle with only a slight decrease of TOC conversion. The catalyst with well dispersed metal phase and high contribution of nanoparticles smaller than 2 nm showed a higher production of hydrogen. APR was proved to be a feasible option for the valorisation of AF
