    6 Seconds of Sound and Vision: Creativity in Micro-Videos

    The notion of creativity, as opposed to related concepts such as beauty or interestingness, has not been studied from the perspective of automatic analysis of multimedia content. Meanwhile, short online videos shared on social media platforms, or micro-videos, have arisen as a new medium for creative expression. In this paper we study creative micro-videos in an effort to understand the features that make a video creative, and to address the problem of automatic detection of creative content. Defining creative videos as those that are novel and have aesthetic value, we conduct a crowdsourcing experiment to create a dataset of over 3,800 micro-videos labelled as creative and non-creative. We propose a set of computational features that we map to the components of our definition of creativity, and conduct an analysis to determine which of these features correlate most with creative video. Finally, we evaluate a supervised approach to automatically detect creative video, with promising results, showing that it is necessary to model both aesthetic value and novelty to achieve optimal classification accuracy.Comment: 8 pages, 1 figures, conference IEEE CVPR 201

    Se presenta el caso de una paciente de 42 años de edad Objetivo: Valorar las respuestas humanas fisiológicas de la pancreatitis aguda a través de los dominios NANDA, que permita establecer el plan de cuidados determinado para el cliente Metodología: abordaje cualitativo observacional descriptivo, permitiendo justificar la sintomatología presente en la paciente con la que se desarrolla en la evolución de la patología; siendo esta metodología útil para verificar y desarrollar el proceso de diagnostico a la muestra incluye una paciente, del servicio hospitalario de medicina interna de la ESE San Juan de Dios, Pamplona Resultados: El paciente siente satisfacción cuando percibe la vocación y la voluntad de servicio de la enfermera. La satisfacción por buena atención se concibe como un campo de aceptación limitada. Conclusión: estos hallazgos indican la necesidad de valorar la incertidumbre e identificar factores relacionados como capacidades cognitivas, y fuentes de estructura que inciden positiva o negativamente en la aparición de la misma

All three systems have orbital obliquity measurements, WASP-24 and WASP-26 have been observed with Spitzer, and WASP-25 was previously comparatively neglected. Our light curves were obtained using the telescope-defocussing method and have scatters of 0.5–1.2 mmag relative to their best-fitting geometric models. We use these data to measure the physical properties and orbital ephemerides of the systems to high precision, finding that our improved measurements are in good agreement with previous studies. High-resolution Lucky Imaging observations of all three targets show no evidence for faint stars close enough to contaminate our photometry. We confirm the eclipsing nature of the star closest to WASP-24 and present the detection of a detached eclipsing binary within 4.25 arcmin of WASP-26.Publisher PDFPeer reviewe

    <i>Spitzer</i> microlens measurement of a massive remnant in a well-separated binary

    We report the detection and mass measurement of a binary lens OGLE-2015-BLG-1285La,b, with the more massive component having M1 > 1.35 M⊙ (80% probability). A main-sequence star in this mass range is ruled out by limits on blue light, meaning that a primary in this mass range must be a neutron star (NS) or black hole (BH). The system has a projected separation r⊥ = 6.1 ± 0.4 AU and lies in the Galactic bulge. These measurements are based on the "microlens parallax" effect, i.e., comparing the microlensing light curve as seen from Spitzer, which lay at 1.25 AU projected from Earth, to the light curves from four ground-based surveys, three in the optical and one in the near-infrared. Future adaptive optics imaging of the companion by 30 m class telescopes will yield a much more accurate measurement of the primary mass. This discovery both opens the path and defines the challenges to detecting and characterizing BHs and NSs in wide binaries, with either dark or luminous companions. In particular, we discuss lessons that can be applied to future Spitzer and Kepler K2 microlensing parallax observations

    La diabetes mellitus es considerada un factor de riesgo para complicaciones locales y fracaso quirúrgico en cirugías reconstructivas mediante el uso de colgajos debido a las alteraciones en el proceso de cicatrización propias de este patología. Objetivo:hacer una revisión de la literatura disponible sobre los factores fisiopatológicos que influyen en los resultados posquirúrgicos a corto, mediano y largo plazo en la población diabética, así como de las metas terapéuticas perioperatorias asociadas a mayores tasas de éxito. Metodología de Búsqueda: se realizó búsqueda en las bases de datos PUBMED, MEDLINE Y SCIELO, mediante el gestor de búsqueda utilizando los términos: “Period perioperative”, “Reconstructive surgical procedures”, “Surgical flaps”, “Diabetes mellitus”, obteniendo un total de 160 artículos de revistas en línea, de los cuales se seleccionaron 50. Resultados: la realización de colgajos en pacientes con diabetes mellitus se asocia a mayor riesgo de fracaso y complicaciones, las cuales disminuyen considerablemente si se realiza un estricto manejo perioperatorio enfocado en metas. Conclusiones: la diabetes mellitus causa alteraciones en la respuesta inflamatoria, disfunción microvascular y mayor estrés oxidativo, lo cual se ve reflejado en un proceso de cicatrizacion anormal, generando mayores tasas de infeccion y perdidas de colgajos; un estricto manejo peri operatorio guiado por metas logra disminuir las complicaciones y aumentar el exito quirurgico. Objective: to review the available literature on the pathophysiological factors that influence the short-, medium- and long-term results in the diabetic population, the perioperative therapeutic goals associated with higher success rates, and to establish a baseline protocol for the perioperative management of these patients. Searching methodology: we searched the PUBMED, MEDLINE and SCIELO databases using the search terms “Period perioperative”, “Reconstructive surgical procedures”, “Surgical flaps”, “Diabetes mellitus”, obtaining a total of 160 online journal articles, of which 50 were selected. Results: the performance of flaps in patients with diabetes mellitus is associated with an increased risk of failure and complications, which decrease considerably when a strict goal-directed perioperative management is performed. Conclusions: diabetes mellitus causes alterations in the inflammatory response, microvascular dysfunction and increases oxidative stress, which is reflected in an abnormal healing process, generating higher infection rates and graft loss, but if glycemic management goals are achieved, in the perioperative period it is possible to reduce the complications and to increase the surgical success.     A serious games platform for cognitive rehabilitation with preliminary evaluation

    In recent years Serious Games have evolved substantially, solving problems in diverse areas. In particular, in Cognitive Rehabilitation, Serious Games assume a relevant role. Traditional cognitive therapies are often considered repetitive and discouraging for patients and Serious Games can be used to create more dynamic rehabilitation processes, holding patients' attention throughout the process and motivating them during their road to recovery. This paper reviews Serious Games and user interfaces in rehabilitation area and details a Serious Games platform for Cognitive Rehabilitation that includes a set of features such as: natural and multimodal user interfaces and social features (competition, collaboration, and handicapping) which can contribute to augment the motivation of patients during the rehabilitation process. The web platform was tested with healthy subjects.     Physical properties and transmission spectrum of the WASP-74 planetary system from multi-band photometry

    We present broad-band photometry of eleven planetary transits of the hot Jupiter WASP-74 b, using three medium-class telescopes and employing the telescope-defocussing technique. Most of the transits were monitored through I filters and one was simultaneously observed in five optical (U,g′,r′,i′,z′) and three near infrared (J, H, K) passbands, for a total of 18 light curves. We also obtained new high-resolution spectra of the host star. We used these new data to review the orbital and physical properties of the WASP-74 planetary system. We were able to better constrain the main system characteristics, measuring smaller radius and mass for both the hot Jupiter and its host star than previously reported in the literature. Joining our optical data with those taken with the HST in the near infrared, we built up an observational transmission spectrum of the planet, which suggests the presence of strong optical absorbers, as TiO and VO gases, in its atmosphere

    High-precision photometry by telescope defocussing - VIII.WASP-22, WASP-41,WASP-42 andWASP-55

    We present 13 high-precision and four additional light curves of four bright southernhemisphere transiting planetary systems: WASP-22, WASP-41, WASP-42 and WASP-55. In the cases of WASP-42 and WASP-55, these are the first follow-up observations since their discovery papers. We present refined measurements of the physical properties and orbital ephemerides of all four systems. No indications of transit timing variations were seen. All four planets have radii inflated above those expected from theoretical models of gas-giant planets; WASP-55 b is the most discrepant with a mass of 0.63MJup and a radius of 1.34 RJup. WASP-41 shows brightness anomalies during transit due to the planet occulting spots on the stellar surface. Two anomalies observed 3.1 d apart are very likely due to the same spot. We measure its change in position and determine a rotation period for the host star of 18.6 ± 1.5 d, in good agreement with a published measurement from spot-induced brightness modulation, and a sky-projected orbital obliquity of λ = 6 ± 11°. We conclude with a compilation of obliquity measurements from spot-tracking analyses and a discussion of this technique in the study of the orbital configurations of hot Jupiters
