Public housing as urban heritage: experience and research approach in Spain
International conservation policies have incorporated the urban dimension of heritage, which considers the city as a historical continuum connected with the territory. However, the social housing complexes built in Europe throughout the second half of the 20th century lack legal entities and tools for their protection. Urban rehabilitation policies have substituted the initial demolition-replacement processes, by way of combining and coordinating protective measures. The rehabilitation of the Caño Roto Housing Estate (Madrid 1994-2004), as a precursor of a type of intervention widespread in Spain, is analysed with the aim of finding the actors, tools and decisions, so that the model can be optimised in future operations. The heritage dimension involves the development of the necessary means to make possible the conservation and functional updating of the buildings, as well as the development of new cultural, socioeconomic and environmental values, in order to add sustainability to the urban environment
Matlis duality, inverse systems and classification of Artin algebras
Treballs finals del Màster en Matemàtica Avançada, Facultat de Matemàtiques, Universitat de Barcelona: Curs: 2022-2023. Director: Joan Elías García[en] The aim of this project is to study the classification of some families of Artin algebras. In order to do that, we will study some important results of injective modules with the objective to be able to prove Matlis duality. In particular, we will study the case of Matlis duality when (the ring of the formal series) with maximal ideal . With this scenario, we are talking about Macaulay's duality.
Using Macaulay's correspondence, we will be able to study important results as Hilbert functions, essential in the classification of algebras. We will study Gorenstein, level and compressed algebras.
Along the paper, we use Singular [DGPS22] and the library Inverse SYST.LIB by Joan Elias [Eli14], which with we will compute some examples seen through the project
Vigne Nuove. Large-scale construction and social housing in the outskirts of Rome
[EN] The Piano di Zona Vigne Nuove Project by (Lucio Passarelli, Alfredo Lambertucci and Claudio Saratti, 1971-1979), a housing complex of 524 dwellings with common services located north of the urban continuum of Rome adapts some of the most important functional and constructive aspects in experimentation that has been taking place in Europe in the field of collective housing since the middle of the 20th century. The tectonic of the concrete acts as a nexus of a double system, horizontal which channels the public elements for facilities and services and vertical that contains housing cells intended for a diverse population. The research methodology stems from the relevance of both systems, public and private to give form to the analysis, establishing a relation with contemporary works. The project shows the overcoming of limitations of the functional city, by introducing intermediate elements and spaces of transition and social unity, and an improvement on traditional construction methods by establishing an effective standardization and an emergent prefabrication. Investigación realizada en ‘Sapienza’ Università di Roma y en la Real Academia de España en Roma (RAER).Cervero Sánchez, N. Superconducting pair condensation and phase coherence in cuprates: experimental determination of the corresponding phase diagram in La2-x Srx CuO4
The aim of this thesis is to study the interrelationships between the normal state pseudogap, the phenomenology of the superconducting transition, the inhomogeneities and the disorder in the cuprate superconductors (HTSC). Specifically, we study the resistivity in the ab planes and the voltage-current (VI) curves in superconducting thin films of La(2-x)Sr(x)CuO(4). Brief panning of work:- Synthesis of films of La(2-x)Sr(x)CuO(4) with different dopings. - Characterization of the doping inhomogeneity and critical temperature by SQUID magnetometry. - Measurements of the superconducting phase coherence temperature through VI curves. - Analysis of the superconducting wave function condensation temperature using finite element simulations. - Measurement of the superconducting wave function condensation temperature through the resistivity measured in the ohmic regime
Matlis duality, inverse systems and classification of Artin algebras
Flipped classroom and Project Based Learning in Biology classroom: an innovation project for 1.º of eso. Experience assessment
The present article takes as a target to value the development of a didactic proposal for the Biology and Geology subject of 1st of eso. This proposal is based on flipped classroom (fc) and project based learning (pbl) methodologies and it centers on the development of the teaching-learning process of the anatomical and physiological characteristics of the different living beings included inside the so called Five Kingdoms. The fc is a pedagogic model that transfers the work of certain learning processes out of the classroom and uses the class time together with the experience of the teacher, to facilitate and to promote other processes of acquisition and practice of knowledge inside the classroom. Likewise, in the pbl model are the pupils those who set the rhythm for advancing in the acquisition of new knowledge, promoting the necessary thinking skills for a significant learning. Therefore both methodologies present themselves as a good option to conteract the problems associated with traditional Science education.</p
Mirada crítica sobre la vivienda colectiva actual. Conversación con Carmen Espegel
Carmen Espegel is Professor of Architectural Projects at the Higher Technical School of Architecture of the Polytechnic University of Madrid (ETSAM). Her career has encompassed three closely interrelated fields of activity: teaching, research and the profession of an architect. With her published works and her design projects she has bridged the gap between critique and practice of architecture, specifically, contemporary collective housing. Her profound knowledge drives apart from the purely theoretical and offers the viewpoint of a seasoned architect. She leads the Master of Advanced Architecture in Madrid and the Master in Collective Housing, which is jointly run by the Polytechnic University of Madrid and the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich. She has collaborated with numerous universities in Europe, South America, the United States and Canada—this interview took place in Quebec, where Carmen is Visiting Professor at the city’s Laval University. Her research activity, focused on three fundamental branches—collective housing, critical theory and women and architecture—has driven her to lead the Collective Housing Research Group (GIVCO) and capture her critical thinking, with an important contribution in the area of residential design. In her role as a professional architect, her extensive and wide-ranging activity in tenders and works, which have received international recognition and awards, complements her incursions on the present-day manifestations of habitat, contributing to its development. Our conversation is organised in several themes that serve to connect personal reflections and aspects on the contemporary alternatives inherent in collective housing.
Democracia emocional en los medios sociales, el caso del pueblo egipcio : Emotional democracy in the social media, the case of the Egyptian people
Ento
nces, es posible hablar de democracia
emocional en los medios sociales. Sin
embargo, creemos que todos ellos no
contribuyeron en la misma medida, incl
uso es admisible que algunos de ellos
hayan puesto algún obstáculo. This communication aims
to show how social media has returned to be
protagonists of an unprecedented event, th
e Egyptian revolution and its struggle for
freedom and equality, major human rights, against a government entrenched in
power.
The object of study will focus on analyz
ing political information disseminated by
social media on the protest of the Egyptian
people. Especially when the study of the
International Center for Assistance to Media (CIMA) reveals that 50% of the
Egyptian population is reported via th
e Internet, compared with 34% who read
newspapers. Apart from that we add the re
markable culture of the Internet among
the leaders of the democratic revolutionary movement, young people who are under
30 years. We start with the following questions: soci
al media has proven to be an effective
tool to engage with the demands of the
Egyptian people? What social media has
been used? What role had did social me
dia? Can we talk of a new democratic
government?, Social media deserve special recognition?, What say cybermedia
about social media on Egypt? We will use the case method to respond to the
grounds set out and reveal the real role of social media.
The mobilization of civil society in Egypt
is the sign of the importance of social
media within a country's political changes.
Communication tool that has been able
to inform, build communities of citizen oversight, to mobilize the people and
destabilize a government 30 years in power,
although the regime prevented its use.
Then it's possible to talk about emotional democracy in the social media. However,
we believe that all of them did not contribute to the same extent, it is even possible
for some of them have put some obstacle
