No
algunas de estas migrantes en los campos onubensesIn the last years more than 22.000 moroccan women workers have passed
through the fields of the province of Huelva (Spain), through what is known as
temporary country origin contracts. This way of transnational management of the
job creation has been promoted as a legal and organize model of migration.
Nevertheless, a close attention reveals the asymmetry of gender and development,
and also the reduction of labour rights that support this model. This article
analyzes the supporting architecture of these programs of temporary contracting in
Spain and Morocco, and also the experience of some of these migrant women in the

Design for Additive Manufacturing: Tool Review and a Case Study
This paper aims to collect in a structured manner different computer-aided engineering (CAE) tools especially developed for additive manufacturing (AM) that maximize the capabilities of this technology regarding product development. The flexibility of the AM process allows the manufacture of highly complex shapes that are not possible to produce by any other existing technology. This fact enables the use of some existing design tools like topology optimization that has already existed for decades and is used in limited cases, together with other novel developments like lattice design tools. These two technologies or design approaches demand a highly flexible manufacturing system to be applied and could not be used before, due to the conventional industrial process limitations. In this paper, these technologies will be described and combined together with other generic or specific design tools, introducing the study case of an additive manufactured mechanical design of a bicycle stem
In this paper the influence of bilingual education on the acquisition of the key
learning to learn competence is examined. To do so, bilingual (n = 1,966) and non-bilingual
students (n= 14,713) of Castilla-La Mancha enrolled in the 2nd year of Compulsory Secondary
Education took a series of tests designed to assess two dimensions of the competence
of learning to learn: “metacognitive strategies”, made up of two learning standards related to
metacognitive processes, and “learning strategies”, a dimension consisting of five standards
connected to cognitive processes. Results showed bilingualism had a significant effect on the
acquisition of the key competence of learning to learn.
Optimal Fair Scheduling in S-TDMA Sensor Networks for Monitoring River Plumes
Underwater wireless sensor networks (UWSNs) are a promising technology to provide oceanographers with environmental data
in real time. Suitable network topologies to monitor estuaries are formed by strings coming together to a sink node. This network
may be understood as an oriented graph. A number of MAC techniques can be used in UWSNs, but Spatial-TDMA is preferred
for fixed networks. In this paper, a scheduling procedure to obtain the optimal fair frame is presented, under ideal conditions
of synchronization and transmission errors. The main objective is to find the theoretical maximum throughput by overlapping
the transmissions of the nodes while keeping a balanced received data rate from each sensor, regardless of its location in the
network. The procedure searches for all cliques of the compatibility matrix of the network graph and solves a Multiple-Vector
Bin Packing (MVBP) problem. This work addresses the optimization problem and provides analytical and numerical results for
both the minimum frame length and the maximum achievable throughput
Optimal scheduling and fair servicepolicy for STDMA in underwater networks with acoustic communications
In this work, a multi-hop string network with a single sink node is analyzed. A periodic optimal scheduling for TDMA operation that considers the characteristic long propagation delay of the underwater acoustic channel is presented. This planning of transmissions is obtained with the help of a new geometrical method based on a 2D lattice in the space-time domain. In order to
evaluate the performance of this optimal scheduling, two service policies have been compared: FIFO and Round-Robin. Simulation results, including achievable throughput, packet delay, and queue length, are shown. The network fairness has also been quantified with the Gini index

In our globalised economy, English proficiency is currently a priority for Spanish families, as it is fundamental for ensuring their children’s future economic and personal welfare. As a sign of good parenting, families are increasingly acting as linguistic entrepreneurs and adopting family language policies oriented to provide their children with the best methodologies to enhance English learning, thereby investing their personal and financial capital in extracurricular classes, local English camps, and stays abroad. In searching for more natural learning environments, those parents with knowledge of English emulate native bi/multilingual families and raise their children in English and Spanish. This type of non-native elective bilingualism upbringing is gaining momentum in Spain and deserves further scrutiny. Therefore, this paper is devoted to better understand this phenomenon by means of the study of 16 Spanish families who are raising their children in English and Spanish. Their family language policy (FLP) will be analysed in terms of language beliefs, language management and language practices. Results reflect parents’ desires and imagined identities with English as a metaphor of accomplishment, as well as their emotional implications, disruptions and negotiations to bring to fruition this complex socialization practice.
This article shows the preliminary results of a longitudinal study that aims to (i) determine the impact of bilingual education on the acquisition of contents related to social sciences, and (ii) its effect on the reduction of gender-based achievement differences. To this end, the results of students in the 4th year of primary education (n = 119) of one bilingual and one non-bilingual school located in an urban area were compared. It was guaranteed that the groups were homogeneous in terms of socio-economic level, that they had received a similar teaching methodology and same amount of social science teaching hours (3 hours a week). The results showed (i) the students who received the subject of social sciences in English had acquired knowledge in a similar manner to those who had received it in their mother tongue and (ii) the bilingual education levelled the gender differences observed in the non-bilingual school in favour of males.
