    Partial separability revisited: Necessary and sufficient criteria

    We extend the classification of mixed states of quantum systems composed of arbitrary number of subsystems of arbitrary dimensions. This extended classification is complete in the sense of partial separability and gives 1+18+1 partial separability classes in the tripartite case contrary to a former 1+8+1. Then we give necessary and sufficient criteria for these classes, which make it possible to determine to which class a mixed state belongs. These criteria are given by convex roof extensions of functions defined on pure states. In the special case of three-qubit systems, we define a different set of such functions with the help of the Freudenthal triple system approach of three-qubit entanglement.Comment: v3: 22 pages, 5 tables, 1 figure, minor corrections (typos), clarification in the Introduction.     Model for coiling and meandering instability of viscous threads

    A numerical model is presented to describe both the transient and steady-state dynamics of viscous threads falling onto a plane. The steady-state coiling frequency w is calculated as a function of fall height H. In the case of weak gravity, w ~ H^{-1} and w ~ H are obtained for lower and higher fall heights respectively. When the effect of gravity is significant, the relation w ~ H^2 is observed. These results agree with the scaling laws previously predicted. The critical Reynolds number for coil-uncoil transition is discussed. When the gravity is weak, the transition occurs with hysteresis effects. If the plane moves horizontally at a constant speed, a variety of meandering oscillation modes can be observed experimentally. The present model also can describe this phenomenon. The numerically obtained state diagram for the meandering modes qualitatively agrees with the experiment.Comment: 12 pages, 10 figure

    Fundamental properties of Tsallis relative entropy

    Fundamental properties for the Tsallis relative entropy in both classical and quantum systems are studied. As one of our main results, we give the parametric extension of the trace inequality between the quantum relative entropy and the minus of the trace of the relative operator entropy given by Hiai and Petz. The monotonicity of the quantum Tsallis relative entropy for the trace preserving completely positive linear map is also shown without the assumption that the density operators are invertible. The generalized Tsallis relative entropy is defined and its subadditivity is shown by its joint convexity. Moreover, the generalized Peierls-Bogoliubov inequality is also proven

    Evaluation of the appropriate reaming diameter during initial fixation of a cementless hip prosthesis

     Background: Press-fit fixation is important technical factor to achieve initial stability of a cementless acetabular cup for good clinical results of total hip arthroplasty. However, appropriate reaming diameter during initial fixation is unclear. Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate the optimal reaming diameter using simulated bones and cementless cups. Methods: Three types of simulated bones with different degrees of hardness were used (10 pcf, 20 pcf, 30 pcf, pcf = 16.02 kg/㎥). Acetabular models were created by reaming the simulated bone into a hemisphere, and the reaming diameters were 48 mm, 49 mm, and 50 mm.The 50 mm diameter acetabular cup was fixed to simulated bones with a compressive load of 16,000 N at a rate of 12 mm/min. The testing machine was attached to a cup fixed to the simulated bone, and a pull-out test, rotation test, and lever-out test were performed. To evaluate the initial gap, ink was applied to the cup surface during the pull-out test, and the contact between the bone and cup was visually evaluated after pull-out. Results: The pull-out load of the 20 and 30 pcf simulated bones was significantly lower at a reaming diameter of 50 mm that those at reaming diameters of both 48 and 49 mm (P < 0.05). The rotational torque of the 20 and 30 pcf simulated bones was significantly lower at a reaming diameter of 50 mm that those at reaming diameters of both 48 mm and 49 mm (P < 0.05). The lever-out moment of the 20 and 30 pcf simulated bones was significantly lower at a reaming diameter of 50 mm than those at reaming diameters of both 48 mm and 49 mm (P < 0.05).Contact between the 30 pcf simulated bone and the cup at a reaming diameter of 48 mm was mainly at the edge of the cup; contact at the center of the cup was poor. Conclusions: We performed mechanical tests using simulated bones and evaluated the initial fixation of the cup according to the bone reaming diameter. We recommend under-reaming by 1 mm in all cases to optimize both initial fixation capacity and contact between acetabular cup and bone

    Helicity Amplitudes of the Lambda(1670) and two Lambda(1405) as dynamically generated resonances

    We determine the helicity amplitudes A_1/2 and radiative decay widths in the transition Lambda(1670) to gamma Y (Y=Lambda or Sigma^0). The Lambda(1670) is treated as a dynamically generated resonance in meson-baryon chiral dynamics. We obtain the radiative decay widths of the Lambda(1670) to gamma Lambda as 3 \pm 2 keV and to gamma Sigma^0 as 120 \pm 50 keV. Also, the Q^2 dependence of the helicity amplitudes A_1/2 is calculated. We find that the K Xi component in the Lambda(1670) structure, mainly responsible for the dynamical generation of this resonance, is also responsible for the significant suppression of the decay ratio Gamma_{gamma Lambda}/Gamma_{gamma Sigma^0}. A measurement of the ratio would, thus, provide direct access to the nature of the Lambda(1670). To compare the result for the Lambda(1670), we calculate the helicity amplitudes A_1/2 for the two states of the Lambda(1405). Also, the analytic continuation of Feynman parameterized integrals of more complicated loop amplitudes to the complex plane is developed which allows for an internally consistent evaluation of A_1/2.Comment: 15 pages, 8 figure

    New Sequence Variants in HLA Class II/III Region Associated with Susceptibility to Knee Osteoarthritis Identified by Genome-Wide Association Study

    Osteoarthritis (OA) is a common disease that has a definite genetic component. Only a few OA susceptibility genes that have definite functional evidence and replication of association have been reported, however. Through a genome-wide association study and a replication using a total of ∼4,800 Japanese subjects, we identified two single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) (rs7775228 and rs10947262) associated with susceptibility to knee OA. The two SNPs were in a region containing HLA class II/III genes and their association reached genome-wide significance (combined P = 2.43×10−8 for rs7775228 and 6.73×10−8 for rs10947262). Our results suggest that immunologic mechanism is implicated in the etiology of OA

V druhé části je proveden rozbor předmětu veřejné zakázky. Dále byl zpracován návrh postupu plnění zakázky v prostorách společnosti, na které navazuje cenová kalkulace.     P38 Mitogen-Activated Protein Kinase Inhibitor, FR167653, Inhibits Parathyroid Hormone Related Protein-Induced Osteoclastogenesis and Bone Resorption

    p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) acts downstream in the signaling pathway that includes receptor activator of NF-κB (RANK), a powerful inducer of osteoclast formation and activation. We investigated the role of p38 MAPK in parathyroid hormone related protein (PTHrP)-induced osteoclastogenesis in vitro and PTHrP-induced bone resorption in vivo. The ability of FR167653 to inhibit osteoclast formation was evaluated by counting the number of tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase positive multinucleated cells (TRAP-positive MNCs) in in vitro osteoclastgenesis assays. Its mechanisms were evaluated by detecting the expression level of c-Fos and nuclear factor of activated T cells c1 (NFATc1) in bone marrow macrophages(BMMs) stimulated with sRANKL and M-CSF, and by detecting the expression level of osteoprotegerin (OPG) and RANKL in bone marrow stromal cells stimulated with PTHrP in the presence of FR167653. The function of FR167653 on bone resorption was assessed by measuring the bone resorption area radiographically and by counting osteoclast number per unit bone tissue area in calvaria in a mouse model of bone resorption by injecting PTHrP subcutaneously onto calvaria. Whole blood ionized calcium levels were also recorded. FR167653 inhibited PTHrP-induced osteoclast formation and PTHrP-induced c-Fos and NFATc1 expression in bone marrow macrophages, but not the expression levels of RANKL and OPG in primary bone marrow stromal cells treated by PTHrP. Furthermore, bone resorption area and osteoclast number in vivo were significantly decreased by the treatment of FR167653. Systemic hypercalcemia was also partially inhibited. Inhibition of p38 MAPK by FR167653 blocks PTHrP-induced osteoclastogenesis in vitro and PTHrP-induced bone resorption in vivo, suggesting that the p38 MAPK signaling pathway plays a fundamental role in PTHrP-induced osteoclastic bone resorption
