[ES] El presente TFG recoge un estudio de satisfacción del cliente en la empresa GabiSport, el cual tiene dos objetivos. Por una parte, pretende mostrar la opinión de los clientes con los servicios ofertados y, por otra parte, identificar las fortalezas y los puntos débiles de la empresa. El trabajo de campo permitirá recoger la información necesaria para describir el nivel de satisfacción de los clientes, así como efectuar sugerencias de mejora del servicio de la empresa objeto de estudio.[EN] This TFG includes a study of customer satisfaction in the company GabiSport, which has two objectives. Análisis integral de la evolución de las playas urbanas de Barcelona. Aplicación de técnicas analíticas, numéricas y de sistemas de información geográfica

La present tesina té com a objectiu principal estudiar l’evolució de les platges urbanes de Barcelona, (des de la platja de Sant Sebastià fins Port Fòrum), durant el període comprès entre l’any 1994 fins l’actualitat, mitjançant fotografies aèries (proporcionades per l’ Institut Cartogràfic de Catalunya). L’evolució observada serà utilitzada per estimar la direcció i magnitud del transport de sediment així com ajustar el model analític CERC (1984) a la zona. S’ha realitzat com a feines bàsiques una recopilació bibliogràfica i d’imatges aèries de les platges de Barcelona, una recopilació de dades d’onatge de la zona amb un posterior tractament d’aquestes, l’anàlisi dels canvis de la configuració costera i una estimació final dels patrons de transport de sediment.   La presente tesina tiene como principal objetivo el estudio de la evolución de las playas urbanas de Barcelona, (desde la playa de Sant Sebastià hasta Port Fòrum), durante el periodo comprendido entre 1994 y la actualidad, mediante ortofotos (proporcionadas por el Institut Cartogràfic de Catalunya). La evolución observada será usada para estimar la dirección y magnitud del transporte de sedimento así como también se tomará como base para el ajuste del modelo analítico CERC (1984) para la zona. Se han realizado como tareas básicas una recopilación bibliográfica y de imágenes aéreas de las playas de Barcelona, una recopilación de datos del oleaje de la zona con su posterior tratamiento, el análisis de los cambios en la configuración costera y una estimación final de los patrones del transporte de sedimento.   The present study aims to study the evolution of the main city beaches of Barcelona (from San Sebastià beach to Port Fòrum) during the period from 1994 till the present, using aerial images (provided by the Institut Cartogràfic de Catalunya). The performance observed will be used to estimate the direction and magnitude of sediment transport and adjust the analytical model CERC (1984) to the area. Work has been carried out, and consists of a basic bibliography and aerial images collection of Barcelona beaches, a wave data collection with its subsequent treatment, analysis of configuration changes and a final estimation of the sediment transport patterns.

A new disruption vector (pDHO) to obtain heterothallic strains from both Saccharomyces cerevisiae and Saccharomyces pastorianus

Yeasts are responsible for several traits in fermented beverages, including wine and beer, and their genetic manipulation is often necessary to improve the quality of the fermentation product. Improvement of wild-type strains of Saccharomyces cerevisiae and Saccharomyces pastorianus is difficult due to their homothallic character and variable ploidy level. Homothallism is determined by the HO gene in S. cerevisiae and the Sc-HO gene in S. pastorianus. In this work, we describe the construction of an HO disruption vector (pDHO) containing an HO disruption cassette and discuss its use in generating heterothallic yeast strains from homothallic Saccharomyces species

La heterogeneidad dimensional de los distritos industriales. Un estudio longitudinal del caso español

In this paper we study the evolution over the period 1996 to 2007 of the dimensional heterogeneity of the firms located in spanish industrial districts. the results confirm the presence of a district model with an increasingly heterogeneous structure, although higher levels of homogeneity are observed compared to those companies not located in districts. this fact confirms that the district still exerts a significant influence on their companies. On the other hand, this result varies across industrial sectors, presenting fashion‐led districts the higher growth trends of its internal heterogeneityEn el presente trabajo estudiamos la evolución durante el período 1996‐2007 de la hete‐ rogeneidad dimensional de las empresas localizadas en los distritos industriales españoles. Los resultados confirman la presencia de un modelo de distrito con una estructura cada vez más heterogénea, si bien se observan mayores niveles de homogeneidad respecto a las empresas no localizadas en distritos. Este hecho permite confirmar que el distrito todavía ejerce una notable in‐ fluencia sobre sus empresas. Analysis of solid state relay solutions based on different semiconductor technologies

This paper provides an analysis on the design, implementation and operation of Bi-Directional Switches (BDS) based on power semiconductor devices intended to replace Electro Mechanical Relays (EMR) in home appliances. Static and dynamic characterizations of test vehicles developed using different power device semiconductor technologies (TRIAC, Super Junction (SJ) MOSFET, IGBT...) are presented. At this time, emerging Gallium Nitride High Electron Mobility Transistors (GaN HEMTs) seem to be very suitable for the mentioned applications. Actually, GaN HEMTs based BDS has demonstrated to be the best solution to replace EMRs, with a high expectation to a significant cost reduction

Application of the Standardized Precipitation Evapotranspiration Index (SPEI) for drought analysis and monitoring: characteristics, recommendations and comparison with other indices

The complexity of drought quantification and analysis: • Droughts are difficult to pinpoint in time and space given different economic sectors and natural systems affected. • We identify a drought by its effects or impacts on different types of systems (agriculture, water resources, ecology, forestry, economy, etc.), but there is not a physical variable we can measure to quantify droughts. • Long-term drought objective metrics (streamflows, soil moisture, lake levels, etc.) are commonly not available. Moreover, using only objective metrics other relevant variables to determine drought severity (e.g. the atmospheric water demand) are not taken into account. • We use the so-called “DROUGHT INDICES” for drought quantification and analysis. Standardized Precipitation Evapotranspiration Index (SPEI): The SPEI uses the difference between precipitation and ETo. This represents a simple climatic water balance which is calculated at different time scales to obtain the SPEI. Water and its economies: On three models of water resources management

El agua no es sólo química ni física. También es cultura e ideología, por lo que, aparte de ser una necesidad biológica perentoria, puede transmutarse, no precisamente por alquimia, en ‘agua bendita’ o en ‘oro azul’. La relevancia del agua consiste, pues, no sólo en satisfacer una función orgánica de importancia vital, sino en su capacidad para adoptar un valor simbólico añadido que trascienda lo puramente biológico. Partiendo de esta premisa y desde la perspectiva teórica de la economía política, el agua es susceptible de ser transformada en ‘capital social’, en ‘capital político’ o en ‘capital económico’, en función de que sus valores antropológicos se traduzcan en clave de ‘solidaridad’, de ‘autoridad’ o de ‘rentabilidad’. Se transmuta simbólicamente en ‘solidaridad’, cuando el líquido elemento se convierte en un derecho humano socialmente garantizado para todos sus usuarios sin distinción dentro de una comunidad dada; se traduce en autoridad, cuando se torna en una fuente de poder político desde el cual se regula el acceso de su disfrute a un mayor o menor número de beneficiarios; se interpreta en clave de rentabilidad, cuando se trasluce en una oportunidad de negocio dependiendo de la ganancia económica obtenida de su uso.Palabras clave: gestión hídrica, reciprocidad, redistribución, mercado, capital social, capital político, capital económico, trasvases, agua envasada.Water is not only chemistry or physics. It is also culture and ideology, so, apart from being an urgent biological need, it can be transmuted, not by alchemy in “holy water” or “blue gold”. The importance of water is therefore not only fulfilling a vital organ function, but it is its ability to adopt a symbolic added value that transcends the purely biological. Based on this premise and from the theoretical perspective of political economy, water is capable of being transformed into “social capital”, “political capital” or “economic capital”, depending if their anthropological values are translated into key of “solidarity” by “authority” or “return”. It symbolically transmutes “solidarity” when the liquid element becomes a socially guaranteed right for all users without distinction within a given community. It translates into authority, when it becomes a source of political power from which the access of its enjoyment is regulated to a greater or smaller number of beneficiaries.
