CONCORDÂNCIA VERBAL NA FALA DE CRIANÇAS DE CLASSE BAIXA DA CIDADE DE PORTO ALEGRE

Este estudo tem por objetivo examinar os contextos linguísticos e sociais em que se dá a marcação da concordância variável de terceira pessoa do plural. A amostra é constituída por dados de fala de nove crianças de cinco anos de idade, pertencentes a uma comunidade carente de Porto Alegre. Dados foram gerados especificamente para análise quantitativa de concordância variável. A análise é alicerçada metodologicamente na perspectiva laboviana de Sociolinguística Quantitativa, tendo por parâmetros interpretativos resultados de estudos anteriores sobre dados de crianças de classe média (SOARES, 2006). De modo geral, os resultados obtidos apontaram que o comportamento linguístico das crianças sob estudo não diverge significativamente do comportamento linguístico das crianças das pesquisas anteriores

DAS LETRAS ÀS CIFRAS: LITERATURA E VALORES NO SÉCULO XIX

O estudo da literatura brasileira oitocentista nos fornece um vasto elenco de autores consagrados e de obras diversas, com destaque para os romances. A publicação dessas obras, porém, nem sempre foi tarefa fácil. Há que se lembrar, assim, do esforço do autor e das redes de relações pessoais e profissionais estabelecidas para o (e no) exercício da literatura. Para tanto, trataremos dos processos pelos quais essa literatura passava, indo do manuscrito aos leitores, comentando a situação ainda não profissional dos autores, os necessários contatos e contratos, os meios de se fazer conhecidos e as possibilidades de impressão e de venda

MULHERES LEITORAS E ESCRITORAS NO BRASIL DO OITOCENTOS

The performance of Brazilian female writers during the 19th century has been topic for researchers recently, focusing on issues such as the recognition (or not) of their production by critics. In this communication, we will bring some contributions on the subject, based on the reflections that Júlia Lopes de Almeida made at the beginning of the 20th century. In “A mulher e a arte”, an undated manuscript, fortunately transcribed and recently published (RAGO & TREVISAN, 2019), Almeida tries to change the picture of the public’s lack of knowledge about the participation of women in the arts, especially with regard to literature, warning that, even hampered by the conditions available to men (education, social stimulus, freedom), they managed to enter the world of the arts. The writer cites more than twenty names of women active in the arts and sciences, strengthening the argument that it was no longer possible to prevent them from acting. With the same purpose, besides comment about women access to the read in 19th century, we list some Brazilian intellectuals from the 19th century and their publications. In addition to this basic text, other readings, fictional and from theory, will guide the reflections, such as Chartier (2001), Duarte (2003), Zolin (2005), Louro (2008), Trevisan (2020), Almeida (2021) and Santana (2021).A atuação das escritoras brasileiras durante o século XIX tem sido um tema caro aos pesquisadores nas últimas décadas, focando-se em questões como o (não)reconhecimento de sua produção por parte da crítica coetânea. Na presente comunicação, traremos algumas contribuições sobre o tema, iluminadas pelas reflexões que fez Júlia Lopes de Almeida no início do século XX. Em “A mulher e a arte”, manuscrito sem data, felizmente transcrito e publicado recentemente (RAGO & TREVISAN, 2019), Almeida tenta mudar o quadro do desconhecimento do público sobre a participação das mulheres nas artes, principalmente no que tange à literatura, alertando que, mesmo tolhidas das condições de que os homens dispunham (instrução, estímulo social, liberdade), elas conseguiram adentrar o mundo das artes. A escritora cita duas dezenas de nomes de mulheres atuantes nas artes e nas ciências, fortalecendo o argumento de que já não era possível impedir-lhes a atuação. Com o mesmo intuito, além de comentarmos sobre o acesso à leitura por parte das mulheres no século XIX, elencamos algumas brasileiras intelectuais oitocentistas e suas publicações. A "Picturesque Universe" for fiction in the Portuguese

Notícias, fatos históricos, biografias e narrativas ficcionais são textos encontrados em jornais Portugueses do início do século XIX. Estabelecendo um recorte, investigaremos o periódico Universo Pittoresco (1839), publicado com a indicação “jornal de Instrucção [sic] e Recreio”, disponível em versão digital no site do projeto temático “O Real em revista”. A partir das imagens das páginas do jornal, verificamos que foram nele publicados textos em prosa de ficção, alguns dos quais intentamos analisar material e textualmente. Para tanto, são utilizados materiais teóricos que versam sobre a História do Livro e da Leitura (CHARTIER, 2001 e DARNTON, 1990); a imprensa periódica em Portugal (TENGARRINHA, 1989); as questões relativas à publicação e à leitura de textos em prosa de ficção (THÉRENTY, 2015), entre outros. A pesquisa contou com o apoio do CNPq sob forma de bolsa PIBIC, contudo o início dos trabalhos deu-se em pós-doutorado realizado no Ibilce/Unesp, entre 2015 e 2016.News, facts, biographies and fictional narratives are texts found in Portuguese newspapers of the early nineteenth century. Establishing a clipping, we will investigate the periodical Universo Pittoresco (1839), published like "jornal de Instrucção [sic] e Recreio", available as a digital version on the website of the project "O Real em revista". From the images of the newspaper, we find prose fiction published in it, some of which we try to analyze materially and textually. For that, theoretical materials are used that deal with: History of the Book and the Reading (CHARTIER, 2001 and DARNTON, 1990); periodic press in Portugal (TENGARRINHA, 1989); issues related to the publication and reading of texts in prose fiction (THÉRENTY, 2015), among others. The research had the support of the CNPq in the form of a PIBIC scholarship. The beginning of the research took place in the post-doctoral at Ibilce / Unesp between 2015 and 2016

News and fiction: interwoven issues in O Recreio (Lisbon, 1836)

A biblioteca do Real Gabinete Português de Leitura, no Rio de Janeiro, conserva, em sua versão impressa, o tomo II do mensário O Recreio, jornal das famílias (1836), periódico ilustrado que traz uma grande variedade de assuntos aos leitores, desde notícias a pequenos contos. No conteúdo, destacam-se uma “Sentença” e um “Processo”, longos textos jurídicos expostos com linguagem e elementos da narrativa de ficção, que dialogam entre si e com outras rubricas do jornal, apesar da separação espacial e temporal das publicações. A partir da leitura das fotografias do periódico, tiradas no local, e auxiliados por Tengarrinha (1989), Rodrigues (1998) e Thérenty (2007, 2015), faremos uma análise da relação entre esses textos publicados n’O Recreio, com vistas à melhor compreensão do uso das técnicas da narrativa de ficção nos jornais oitocentistas. As pesquisas iniciais que geraram este texto ocorreram em período de estágio de pós-Doutorado, no IBILCE/UNESP-Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho.The library Real Gabinete Português de Leitura (The Royal Portuguese Cabinet of Reading), in Rio de Janeiro, retains, in its printed version, the volume II of the monthly newspaper O Recreio, jornal das famílias (1836), an illustrated journal that brings a wide variety of subjects to the readers, from news to short stories. The content includes a "Sentence" and a "Lawsuit", long legal texts comprised of language and elements of narrative fiction, which dialogue with each other and with other headlines of the newspaper, despite the spatial and temporal division of publications. From the reading of the periodical’s photographs, taken on-site, and assisted by Tengarrinha (1989), Rodrigues (1998) and Thérenty (2007, 2015), we analyze the relationship between these texts, published in O Recreio, aiming to better understand narrative fiction techniques in nineteenth-century newspapers. The initial research that generated this text occurred during a post-doctoral period, at IBILCE/UNESP- Júlio de Mesquita Filho State University of São Paulo

LITERATURA INFANTOJUVENIL, MULHERES E EDUCAÇÃO NO BRASIL DO SÉCULO XIX

O século XIX, período de grande desenvolvimento para a Literatura no Brasil, também foi um momento de publicações de livros para as crianças, destinados ou não ao uso escolar, com destaque para aqueles escritos por mulheres. A leitura de textos teóricos sobre o assunto nos auxilia a entender a relação entre as crianças, a escola e as mulheres, compreendendo a literatura infantojuvenil da época como local de afirmação de valores morais e patrióticos, mas também como uma oportunidade para a escrita de autoria feminina, ainda que submetida aos padrões patriarcais vigentes. Cerithiidae, Litiopidae, Modulidae and Planaxidae (Gastropoda, Cerithioidea) collected by the Marion Dufresne MD55 expedition in southeastern Brazil

Several deep-water mollusks collected during the Marion Dufresne MD55 expedition off SE Brazil have been studied in recent papers. The present work focuses on eight species belonging to the cerithioidean families Cerithiidae, Litiopidae, Modulidae and Planaxidae. Three species have their geographic distributions greatly expanded: Bayericerithium bayeri Petuch, 2001 from Pernambuco to Rio Grande do Norte and Ceará states (north) and to Bahia and Espírito Santo states (south), Brazilian coast; Ittibittium oryza (Mörch, 1876), from the Caribbean to the SW Atlantic; and Angiola lineata (Costa, 1778), from Trindade Island, Brazil to the Abrolhos Slope, nearly 870 km westward. Four species reported herein had their bathymetric ranges greatly expanded: Alaba incerta (d’Orbigny, 1841) from 0-40 m to 300 m; B. bayeri from 0-2 m to 120 m (live specimens); Litiopa melanostoma Rang, 1829 from 0-805 m to 1,550 m; Fossarus orbignyi Fischer, 1864 from 0-40 to 830 m (shells only)
