A structural study of copper(II) carboxylates: Crystal structure and physical characterisation of [Cu2(2-bromopropanoato)4(caffeine)2]

Based on the bond-valence sum model the continual transition between the bidentate and monodentate bonding mode of carboxylato group and minimum of Cu-O bond lengths were estimated. The dependence of Cu⋯Cu separation on Cu-N bond length in binuclear Cu(II) carboxylates with caffeine were derived and fitted to the observed data. The crystal structure of [Cu2(2-bromopropanoato)4(caffeine)2] has been determined by X-ray crystallography. The structure consists of centrosymmetric binuclear units where the two Cu atoms are coordinated by four disordered bridging 2-bromopropionates and two caffeine ligands at the apices of a bicapped square prism. Both 2-bromopropionates show disorder of their -Br and -CH3 substituents. Stacking π·π interactions between the adjacent caffeine molecules link the complex units in 1-D networks. The binuclear structure of the studied compound is consistent with magnetic data and EPR spectru

The Grotesque and The Grotesque Style (in the Short Story Summer Plays by Dušan Mitana)

The study in its two parts presents an attempt of defining and specifying problematic concepts of the grotesque and the grotesque style. Having considered the works by Wolfgang Kayser and the line of other authors updating his theory of the grotesque (PhilipThompson, Frances K. Barasch, GoeffreyHarpham), the writer of the study forms a pattern of the grotesque style which is verified and developed through an interpretation of Dušan Mitana´s short story Letné hry/Summer Plays, where focusing on the grotesque aspect emphasizes some of the overlooked text segments and enables new reading of the short story in question. Alongside the theory and interpretation parts, the author thinks about a possible distinction between the concepts of the grotesque style and the grotesque moment, and their mutual influence and repetition creates space for defining the grotesque as a literary genre

A systematic study on Pt based, subnanometer-sized alloy cluster catalysts for alkane dehydrogenation: effects of intermetallic interaction

    Get PDF
Platinum-based bimetallic nanoparticles are analyzed by the application of density functional theory to a series of tetrahedral Pt3X cluster models, with element X taken from the P-block, preferably group 14, or from the D-block around group 10. Almost identical cluster geometries allow a systematic investigation of electronic effects induced by different elements X. Choosing the propane-to-propene conversion as the desired dehydrogenation reaction, we provide estimates for the activity and selectivity of the various catalysts based on transition state theory. No significant Brønsted-Evans-Polanyi-relation could be found for the given reaction. A new descriptor, derived from an energy decomposition analysis, captures the effect of element X on the rate-determining step of the first hydrogen abstraction. Higher activities than obtained for pure Pt4 clusters are predicted for Pt alloys containing Ir, Sn, Ge and Si, with Pt3Ir showing particularly high selectivity

Organodiphosphines in PtP2X2 (X = As, Ge or Te) derivatives – Structural aspects

    Structural data of cis-Pt(η2-P2L)(XL)2 (X = Ge or Te), cis-Pt(η2-P2L)(η2-X2L) (X = As, Ge or Te) and trans-Pt(η2-P,TeL)2 were classified and analyzed. The chelating ligands create varieties of metallocyclic rings, which open in the sequence: 83.1° (GeGeGe) < 83.8° (AsC2As) < 86.2° (PC2P) < 88.5° (PC2Te) < 89.7° (PC3P) ~ 89.7° (GeGe2Ge). The structural data are compared and discussed with the complexes of an inner coordination spheres Pt(η2-P2L)(XL)2 (X = O, N, CN, B, Cl, S, Se, Si, Br or I), Pt(η2-P2L)(η2- X2L) (X = O, N, S, Se or Si), and Pt(η2-P,SiL)2

Tato práce se zabývá návrhem a implementací souboru tříd, které by na těchto modulech ulehčovali vývoj koncových softwarových řešení v Jazyce Java ME.Nowadays we often hear about application of devices so-called wireless GSM/GPRS modules. It's uderstandable, because these modules works in GSM network, are portable and often ofers other key features like GPS receiver, support of fast internet connection GPRS/EDGE, many I/O interfaces etc. We can easily imagine few of many possible applications by ourselves. Car tracking, security systems, controling of anything, what could user possibly want to activate and control remotely, perhaps using short message and so on. This work is about design and implementation of class collection, which should help Java ME developers to create client application on these devices.Prezenční456 - Katedra informatikyvelmi dobř
