La indefinición semántica de la expresión “justicia ambiental” y sus comprensibles circunstancias estratégicas | The Semantic Lack of Definition of The Expression “Environmental Justice” and his Understandable Strategic Circumstances

RESUMEN. “Justicia ambiental” es un binomio léxico complejo formado por un sustantivo (justicia) y un adjetivo (ambiental), lo cual no significa ni supone la prioridad o consecuente sumisión semántica de un término sobre el otro, sino al contrario: la interacción e interdependencia de los componentes lingüísticos de la expresión refleja una predisposición del estado de ánimo e incluso una intención favorable u optimista hacia su aceptación incondicionada por parte de todos, sin tener en cuenta la conveniencia de incidir en su contenido, equívoco o difuso en muchas ocasiones, bajo la necesaria observación de la evolución histórica del concepto desde un planteamiento político, social y jurídico.ABSTRACT. “Environmental justice” is a lexical binomial complex formed by a noun (justice) and a adjective (environmental), which neither means does not even suppose the priority or consistent semantic submission of a term to other one, but on the contrary: the interaction and interdependence of the linguistic components of the expression reflects a predisposition of the state of mind and even a favorable or optimistic intention towards his acceptance undetermined on the part of all, without bearing in mind the convenience of affecting in his content, pun or fuzzy in many occasions, under the necessary observation of the historical evolution of the concept from a political, social and juridical exposition

La enseñanza del Derecho a través del cine: implicaciones epistemológicas y metodológicas

Este artículo trata de la relación entre el cine y el derecho y su posible repercusión sobre la docencia jurídica. Con ese objetivo serán repasadas algunas ideas básicas sobre la importancia y beneficios de la utilización del cine en la enseñanza universitaria. Más en concreto, se analizarán las conexiones entre el cine y el derecho, sobre todo a partir del componente narrativo presente en uno y otro ámbito del conocimiento, para establecer los modelos a través de los cuales pueda ser orientada una docencia jurídica que recurra a la utilización de películas. Al respecto, se partirá de unos presupuestos metodológicos desde los cuales la importancia que se concede a ambas disciplinas sea equilibrada, sin que se le dé prioridad al derecho sobre el cine o al cine sobre el derecho. Para ello, se formularán una serie de reglas o pautas de actuación que deben ser respetadas para organizar una actividad, ciclo o seminario sobre cine y derecho

Multicultural societies and legal systems: intersections and confrontations

Los sistemas jurídicos actuales están siendo afectados por la introducción en las sociedades occidentales de culturas externas fruto de la inmigración. Las actitudes y comportamientos que se consideran diferentes son controlados por el derecho a través de los mecanismos jurídicos que se creen oportunos. Una revisión de las acciones jurídicas que se utilizan para regular tales conductas es una necesidad en las sociedades multiculturales. De hecho, las normas jurídicas pueden crear, interpretar y aplicar el derecho a partir de otras premisas diferentes que han de tener en cuenta las transformaciones sociales y las nuevas necesidades presentes en los ordenamientos jurídicos a partir de la revisión del concepto de sistema jurídico.The current legal systems are being affected by the introduction in Western societies from external cultures result of immigration. The attitudes and behaviors that are considered different are controlled by the law through legal mechanisms that are believed appropriate. A review of legal actions that are used to regulate such behavior is a necessity in multicultural societies. Adaptive multi-stage integrators for optimal energy conservation in molecular simulations

We introduce a new Adaptive Integration Approach (AIA) to be used in a wide range of molecular simulations. Given a simulation problem and a step size, the method automatically chooses the optimal scheme out of an available family of numerical integrators. Although we focus on two-stage splitting integrators, the idea may be used with more general families. In each instance, the system-specific integrating scheme identified by our approach is optimal in the sense that it provides the best conservation of energy for harmonic forces. The AIA method has been implemented in the BCAM-modified GROMACS software package. Numerical tests in molecular dynamics and hybrid Monte Carlo simulations of constrained and unconstrained physical systems show that the method successfully realises the fail-safe strategy. In all experiments, and for each of the criteria employed, the AIA is at least as good as, and often significantly outperforms the standard Verlet scheme, as well as fixed parameter, optimized two-stage integrators. In particular, the sampling efficiency found in simulations using the AIA is up to 5 times better than the one achieved with other tested schemes

Repercusión del Brexit en las empresas del Ibex 35

Análisis de la repercusión que ha tenido el Brexit desde la celebración del referéndum en las empresas del Ibex 35. Para ello se ha analizado el conjunto del Ibex 35 desde los días previos al referéndum hasta un año después. Del mismo modo, se ha realizado un análisis de los diferentes sectores empresariales dentro del Ibex 35 y de cada una de las empresas con mayor exposición a los problemas derivados del Brexit.Grado en Administración y Dirección de Empresa

Visible light data communications

In the first part of this paper, a general overview of Visible Light Communications (VLC)is described. After an introduction which covers a short historical overview, the main characteristics of this technology including applications and comparisons with other wireless technologies (radiofrequency and infrared communication) are presented. Next, the basic configuration of a VLC system will be covered, including the VLC transmitter, the VLC channel, the VLC receiver and the main modulation techniques used. This part concludes with some challenges being worked, standardization efforts and general conclusions. In the second part, the practical work of the project is presented. We focused on the electrical and optical characteristics of the VLC transmitter: Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs).Experiments carried out in different commercial LEDs such as I-V characteristics, spectra measurements, Light Power vs. Current characteristics, pulse response and frequency response are described and discussed

Jobs multipliers : evidence from a large fiscal stimulus in Spain

En este trabajo, estimamos los efectos en el empleo de un gran estímulo fiscal en España (conocido como «Plan E»), por el cual el Gobierno central transfirió fondos a los municipios para llevar a cabo proyectos de inversión. Explotando la variación temporal en la ejecución de los proyectos en los distintos municipios mediante un análisis de diferencias en diferencias, encontramos que 100.000 euros de estímulo redujeron el desempleo en 0,62 empleos-año. Consideramos la posibilidad de que existan efectos espaciales, esto es, la propagación del estímulo a municipios vecinos, y encontramos que son considerables: suponen un 8,4 % del efecto «local». También presentamos evidencia sobre la transmisión del estímulo, y vemos que el efecto: i) estuvo inicialmente concentrado en la construcción y en la industria, pero se extendió luego al resto de la economíaii) fue mayor para los hombres que para las mujeresiii) fue mayor cuando el estímulo fue más grande en proporción al presupuesto municipal, y iv) no fue mayor en municipios con alcaldes de un mayor nivel educativo. Nuestra estimación del multiplicador se encuentra en el rango inferior de lo hallado por estudios anterioresWe estimate the employment effect of a large fiscal stimulus in Spain (PlanE), in which the national government transferred funds to municipalities to carry out local investment projects. Using a difference-in-difference approach by exploiting variation in the timing of the execution of projects across municipalities, we find that 100,000 euros of stimulus reduced unemployment by 0.62 jobs per year. We allow for possible spatial effects, i.e. the propagation of the stimulus to neighboring municipalities, and find that these are sizable, representing 8.4% of the “local” effect. We also present evidence on the transmission mechanism, finding that the effect was: (i) initially concentrated in the construction and industrial sectors, but later spilled over to the broader economy, (ii) larger for males than females, (iii) larger when the shock represented a higher share of the budget, and (iv) not larger for municipalities headed by more educated mayors.
