Nuestra empresa a analizar, PREDUCA S.A, se ha desenvuelto en el sector educativo clase alta, manteniendo un prestigio por 17 años, lo cual la coloca como una de las mejores dentro de su estrato social. Su objetivo de reestructuración de pasivos y expansión futura, nos llevaron a establecer pautas para la utilización de nuevas herramientas de financiamiento.
La emisión de obligaciones es una herramienta, conocida y utilizada en varios países incluidos el nuestro, que ha dado paso a un mayor desarrollo en el mercado de capitales ya que se muestra como una opción rentable al momento de invertir.
Los análisis de los estados financieros de nuestra empresa en mención fueron factores cruciales para poder determinar la factibilidad de una emisión, además de una estrategia de introducción de este tipo de empresas en el mercado de valores, ya que de incursionar PREDUCA S.A. en este mercado sería la primera en su clase y sector. Las oportunidades y amenazas que una decisión como esta conlleva y los beneficios futuros asociados son tratados en nuestro estudio, a fin de dar al lector una visión del entorno de la empresa y proporcionar una guía de procedimientos a seguir en caso de realizarse una emisión de obligaciones. Todo ello asociado con la experiencia tanto al interior de nuestro país, la realidad que se ha vivido en los últimos años en nuestro mercado de obligaciones conjuntamente con lo sucedido en países latinoamericanos, nos muestra el escenario en que se desenvolvería PREDUCA S.A. al momento de emitir una obligación
Standardization in cyber-physical systems: the ARUM case
Cyber-physical systems concept supports the realization of the Industrie 4.0 vision towards the computerization of traditional industries, aiming to achieve intelligent and reconfigurable factories. Standardization assumes a critical role in the industrial adoption of cyber-physical systems, namely in the integration of legacy systems as well as the smooth migration from existing running systems to the new ones. This paper analyses some existing standards in related fields and presents identified limitations and efforts for a wider acceptance of such systems by industry. Effect of bilayer coupling on tunneling conductance of double-layer high T_c cuprates
Physical effects of bilayer coupling on the tunneling spectroscopy of high
T cuprates are investigated. The bilayer coupling separates the bonding
and antibonding bands and leads to a splitting of the coherence peaks in the
tunneling differential conductance. However, the coherence peak of the bonding
band is strongly suppressed and broadened by the particle-hole asymmetry in the
density of states and finite quasiparticle life-time, and is difficult to
resolve by experiments. This gives a qualitative account why the bilayer
splitting of the coherence peaks was not clearly observed in tunneling

Examining national and district-level trends in neonatal health in Peru through an equity lens:A success story driven by political will and societal advocacy
Abstract Background Peru has impressively reduced its neonatal mortality rate (NMR). We aimed, for the period 2000–2013, to: (a) describe national and district NMR variations over time; (b) assess NMR trends by wealth quintile and place of residence; (c) describe evolution of mortality causes; (d) assess completeness of registered mortality; (e) assess coverage and equity of NMR-related interventions; and (f) explore underlying driving factors. Methods We compared national NMR time trends from different sources. To describe NMR trends by wealth quintiles, place of residence and districts, we pooled data on births and deaths by calendar year for neonates born to women interviewed in multiple surveys. We disaggregated coverage of NMR-related interventions by wealth quintiles and place of residence. To identify success factors, we ran regression analyses and combined desk reviews with qualitative interviews and group discussions. Results NMR fell by 51 % from 2000 to 2013, second only to Brazil in Latin America. Reduction was higher in rural and poorest segments (52 and 58 %). District NMR change varied by source. Regarding cause-specific NMRs, prematurity decreased from 7.0 to 3.2 per 1,000 live births, intra-partum related events from 2.9 to 1.2, congenital abnormalities from 2.4 to 1.8, sepsis from 1.9 to 0.8, pneumonia from 0.9 to 0.4, and other conditions from 1.2 to 0.7. Under-registration of neonatal deaths decreased recently, more in districts with higher development index and lower rural population. Coverage of family planning, antenatal care and skilled birth attendance increased more in rural areas and in the poorest quintile. Regressions did not show consistent associations between mortality and predictors. During the study period social determinants improved substantially, and dramatic out-of-health-sector and health-sector changes occurred. Rural areas and the poorest quintile experienced greater NMR reduction. This progress was driven, within a context of economic growth and poverty reduction, by a combination of strong societal advocacy and political will, which translated into pro-poor implementation of evidence-based interventions with a rights-based approach. Conclusions Although progress in Peru for reducing NMR has been remarkable, future challenges include closing remaining gaps for urban and rural populations and improving newborn health with qualified staff and intermediate- and intensive-level health facilities
Returning home: heritage work among the Stl'atl'imx of the Lower Lillooet River Valley
This article focusses on heritage practices in the tensioned landscape of the Stl’atl’imx (pronounced Stat-lee-um) people of the Lower Lillooet River Valley, British Columbia, Canada. Displaced from their traditional territories and cultural traditions through the colonial encounter, they are enacting, challenging and remaking their heritage as part of their long term goal to reclaim their land and return ‘home’. I draw on three examples of their heritage work: graveyard cleaning, the shifting ‘official’/‘unofficial’ heritage of a wagon road, and marshalling of the mountain named Nsvq’ts (pronounced In-SHUCK-ch) in order to illustrate how the past is strategically mobilised in order to substantiate positions in the present. While this paper focusses on heritage in an Indigenous and postcolonial context, I contend that the dynamics of heritage practices outlined here are applicable to all heritage practices
Circulating Cell-Free DNA in Dogs with Mammary Tumors: Short and Long Fragments and Integrity Index
Circulating cell-free DNA (cfDNA) has been considered an interesting diagnostic/prognostic plasma biomarker in tumor-bearing subjects. In cancer patients, cfDNA can hypothetically derive from tumor necrosis/apoptosis, lysed circulating cells, and some yet unrevealed mechanisms of active release. This study aimed to preliminarily analyze cfDNA in dogs with canine mammary tumors (CMTs). Forty-four neoplastic, 17 non-neoplastic disease-bearing, and 15 healthy dogs were recruited. Necrosis and apoptosis were also assessed as potential source of cfDNA on 78 CMTs diagnosed from the 44 dogs. The cfDNA fragments and integrity index significantly differentiated neoplastic versus non-neoplastic dogs (P<0.05), and allowed the distinction between benign and malignant lesions (P<0.05). Even if without statistical significance, the amount of cfDNA was also affected by tumor necrosis and correlated with tumor size and apoptotic markers expression. A significant (P<0.01) increase of Bcl-2 in malignant tumors was observed, and in metastatic CMTs the evasion of apoptosis was also suggested. This study, therefore, provides evidence that cfDNA could be a diagnostic marker in dogs carrying mammary nodules suggesting that its potential application in early diagnostic procedures should be further investigated

Cross-cultural adaptation and clinical validation of the neonatal skin condition score to Brazilian Portuguese
Objective: to describe the process of cross-cultural adaptation and clinical validation of the Neonatal Skin Condition Score.
Methods: this methodological cross-cultural adaptation study included five steps: initial translation, synthesis of the initial translation, back translation, review by an Committee of Specialists and testing of the pre-final version, and an observational cross-sectional study with analysis of the psychometric properties using the Adjusted Kappa, Intraclass Correlation Coefficient, and Bland- Altman Method statistical tests. A total of 38 professionals were randomly recruited to review the clarity of the adapted instrument, and 47 newborns hospitalized in the Neonatology Unit of the Clinical Hospital of Porto Alegre were selected by convenience for the clinical validation of the instrument.
Results: the adapted scale showed approximately 85% clarity. The statistical tests showed moderate to strong intra and interobserver item to item reliability and from strong to very strong in the total score, with a variation of less than 2 points among the scores assigned by the nurses to the patients.
Conclusions: the scale was adapted and validated to Brazilian Portuguese. The psychometric properties of the Brazilian version of the Neonatal Skin Condition Score instrument were similar to the validation results of the original scale
