The generalized H\"older and Morrey-Campanato Dirichlet problems for elliptic systems in the upper-half space
We prove well-posedness results for the Dirichlet problem in
for homogeneous, second order, constant complex
coefficient elliptic systems with boundary data in generalized H\"older spaces
and in generalized
Morrey-Campanato spaces
under certain assumptions on the growth function . We also identify a
class of growth functions for which
and for which the aforementioned well-posedness results are equivalent, in the
sense that they have the same unique solution, satisfying natural regularity
properties and estimates.Comment: Minor correction
Reuse of textile wastewater after homogenization–decantation treatment coupled to PVDF ultrafiltration membranes
The textile industry is one of the largest consumers of water in the world and its wastewater is a serious problem when it is discharged without the proper treatment. In this work, wastewater generated by textile industry was treated coupling a homogenization–decantation treatment with polyvinylidene difluoride (PVDF) ultrafiltration membranes. Initially, the wastewater was aerated in a homogenization–decantation tank where 17% colour and 10% chemical oxygen demand (COD) were removed. The aerated effluent was treated with an ultrafiltration membrane in order to reuse the permeate in new dyeing processes. Firstly, the ultrafiltration treatment was performed in a laboratory plant. The permeate analysis showed 20% colour removal and 60% COD decrease. On the basis of these results, a semi-industrial system was built. With this plant, the permeate characterization showed similar results. The system was found to be scalable and suitable for the treatment of this kind of effluents. Finally, new dyeings were performed with both permeates. Monochromatic dyeings were carried out with 100% permeate whereas 50% permeate was reused for dyeings with a mixture of three dyes. The colour differences were found to be lower than 1.5, which was the acceptance value establishedPostprint (author's final draft
Reflection and analysis on the Initial Professional Qualification Programs as a measure of social inclusion and education in Andalusia (Spain)
This paper is a review and analysis of the Initial Professional Qualification Programs (PCPI) in Andalusia, understanding them as an effective measure for educational, social and employment inclusion of those students who complete compulsory education without a certification. For this purpose, we review the main approaches and indicators of school failure, exclusion from education and early school leaving that are happening in the educational system nowadays. We analyze the course of these programs since its implementation in 2008-2009 until nowadays, which gives us an overview of the current landscape of them through statistical data and its graphical representation, showing its benefits and possibilities. The article concludes with the contribution of different ideas and thoughts that allow us to be aware of the importance of these programs for the educational reintegration and job training of students who are targeted
Safety of permanent pacemaker implantation: a prospective study
Although pacemaker implantation is considered to be low risk, it is not exempt from complications and technical failures during the procedure, both in the short and long term, and the complications that such patients may present remain unknown. The aim has been to analyze the complication rates associated with permanent pacing and to identify if these differ between patients with or without previous antithrombotic therapy. We used a prospective, single center, observational study of 310 adult patients with indications of permanent pacing. They were hospitalized from 1 January to 31 December 2014 and followed up for 6 months after the pacemaker implant. The participants were distributed into two groups according to the antithrombotic therapy prior to the implant. The most frequent major complications were pneumothorax (3.87%) and lead dislodgement (8.39%), while superficial phlebitis (12.90%) and uncomplicated hematomas (22.58%) were presented as the most recurrent minor complications. Hematomas were the most frequent minor complication in the antithrombotic therapy cohort, and shoulder pain was reported as the most recurrent minor complication in the non-exposed group. Finding out about complications in pacemaker implants enables a complete view of the process, and hence the prioritization of actions aimed at improving safety and reducing associated risks
Psychoeducational strategies to support the adjustment processes of Third Culture Kids (TCKs) and Third Culture Adults (ATCKs)
As more families continue to relocate to other countries due to professional
opportunities, more children live abroad. These unique children are known as third culture
kids (TCKs). These individuals are spending, or have spent, a significant number of
developmental years outside their parent’s cultures(s). Due to their high mobility lifestyles,
they experience a series of challenges, such as developing multiple senses of belonging or no
sense of belonging. Hence, feelings of being misunderstood by their community are recurrent
among them. Generally, TCKs attend international schools, specifically International
Baccalaureate Programme (IBP) schools. TCKs have significant academic and socio-personal
needs during periods of transition that should be identified by school personnel. Therefore,
developing psychoeducational resources to support their adjustment processes is crucial
Assessing EPAP lexical features : A corpus-based study
In this paper we first analyse the housing stock in Spain (new and pre-owned). We outline the political model of housing in Spain, highlighting the differences in its main stages and inquiring into the causes that have contributed to the current housing surplus. We then analyse the different aspects that explain why the housing market seems lethargic and likely to become problematic (population evolution and number of households, perception about purchasing residential properties as a business, etc.). We delve into information concerning the historical evolution of the Spanish housing stock and changing patterns of housing use via data provided by the statistical services of the Spanish Ministry of Development and the National Statistics Institute (INE). The current complex reality of the housing market in Spain is not coincidental, it is rather the result of a long period (more than half a century) of policies supporting increased housing construction. Spain’s dwindling and progressively aging population will jeopardise the net creation of households and housing demand. Given the global situation of the housing market in Spain, it can be said that there is an the end of a prolonged cycle of housing construction favoured by particular housing policies.
