Widespread Molecular Outflows in the Infrared Dark Cloud G28.37+0.07: Indications of Orthogonal Outflow-Filament Alignment
We present ALMA CO(2-1) observations toward a massive infrared dark cloud
G28.37+0.07. The ALMA data reveal numerous molecular (CO) outflows with a wide
range of sizes throughout the cloud. Sixty-two 1.3 mm continuum cores were
identified to be driving molecular outflows. We have determined the position
angle in the plane-of-sky of 120 CO outflow lobes and studied their
distribution. We find that the distribution of the plane-of-sky outflow
position angles peaks at about 100 degree, corresponding to a concentration of
outflows with an approximately east-west direction. For most outflows, we have
been able to estimate the plane-of-sky angle between the outflow axis and the
filament that harbors the protostar that powers the outflow. Statistical tests
strongly indicate that the distribution of outflow-filament orientations is
consistent with most outflow axes being mostly orthogonal to their parent
filament in 3D. Such alignment may result from filament fragmentation or
continuous mass transportation from filament to the embedded protostellar core.
The latter is suggested by recent numerical studies with moderately strong
magnetic fields.Comment: 4 figures, 1 table, accepted by Ap
Effect of a ketogenic diet on the nutritional parameters of obese patients: A systematic review and meta-analysis
The effect of a ketogenic diet (KD) on biochemical parameters and nutritional status has been the subject of debate over the years, as several randomized clinical trials (RCTs) obtained different results. Method: A systematic review and random-effects meta-analysis of RCTs comparing KD with a balanced diet was performed by means of a search of PubMed, Cochrane Library, Scopus, and Web of Science. Trials where the method for measuring the response variables was unclear, those that considered pathologies other than chronic non-communicable diseases and those with participants receiving pharmacological treatment for obesity were excluded from the comparison. Results: Of the studies included in the meta-analysis, no statistically significant standardized mean differences were observed for body mass index (BMI) (d = −0.457, p = 0.359), total cholesterol, COL-T (d = 0.230, p = 0.591), high-density lipoprotein, HDL (d = −0.028, p = 0.934), low-density lipoprotein, LDL (d = 0.528, p = 0.173), or triglycerides, TG (d = −0.283, p = 0.222), with high values of heterogeneity. The percentage of women included in the studies is a significant moderating variable in terms of BMI ratio (z = −6.68, p < 0.001) and TG (z = −2.27, p = 0.023). Conclusion: A KD shows no more benefits on nutritional parameters than a balanced diet, and adverse effects of being on the diet are sometimes reported.

on students´ autonomous learning and formal evaluation
carried out by the teacher, taking advantage of
the potential of instant feedback from the tools
available in Virtual Learning Environments (VLE). The
extensive implementation of VLE in higher education
makes blended learning an emergent modality,
automating and facilitating the monitoring of learning
progress, through the pedagogical management of
effective practices. The innovation proposal aims at
fostering students’ autonomy and their central role in
the achievement of their learning. The methodological
design is correlational seeking to establish the association
between the preparation of questions and online
test resolution by the students and their level in performance
tests administered by the teacher. It was carried
out in six groups of the 2016 and 2017 cohorts in
the Educational Research subject within initial teacher
training programs at a Chilean university. The main results show a significant correlation between the use
of the virtual environment in the construction and
application of a self and peer assessment instruments
in a test- typed format and their results in performance
tests. It is concluded that student learning is enhanced
by integrating assessment as part of the teacher training
process with an active and autonomous role of

This paper aims to explore the functioning of senates in Latin America through a unique blend of theoretical reflection and comparative and case study data collection. This debate comprises different sections, including an analysis of the historical evolution of bicameralism and unicameralism worldwide, followed by an examination of the Senate in Latin America. The subsequent sections delve into case studies of three countries with bicameral compositions: Chile, Argentina, and Brazil. The final contribution is a theoretical discussion on the concept of authority within a body of formally and informally managed by ambitious actors. These articles are possible thanks to the FONDECYT Regular 1211297 project and the Millennium Initiative NCS2022_046.El presente trabajo busca discutir sobre funcionamiento de los senados en América Latina. The CARMA-NRO Orion Survey : filament formation via collision-induced magnetic reconnection - the stick in Orion A
Funding: European Research Council via the ERC Synergy Grant ECOGAL (grant 855130) (R.S.K.). S. Suri acknowledges support from the European Research Council under the Horizon 2020 Framework Program via the ERC Consolidator Grant CSF-648405. R.J.S. acknowledges funding from an STFC ERF (grant ST/N00485X/1).A unique filament is identified in the Herschel maps of the Orion A giant molecular cloud. The filament, which we name the Stick, is ruler-straight and at an early evolutionary stage. Transverse position–velocity diagrams show two velocity components closing in on the Stick. The filament shows consecutive rings/forks in C18O (1−0) channel maps, which is reminiscent of structures generated by magnetic reconnection. We propose that the Stick formed via collision-induced magnetic reconnection (CMR). We use the magnetohydrodynamics code Athena++ to simulate the collision between two diffuse molecular clumps, each carrying an antiparallel magnetic field. The clump collision produces a narrow, straight, dense filament with a factor of >200 increase in density. The production of the dense gas is seven times faster than freefall collapse. The dense filament shows ring/fork-like structures in radiative transfer maps. Cores in the filament are confined by surface magnetic pressure. CMR can be an important dense-gas-producing mechanism in the Galaxy and beyond.Peer reviewe
The Carnegie Supernova Project: First Photometry Data Release of Low-Redshift Type Ia Supernovae
The Carnegie Supernova Project (CSP) is a five-year survey being carried out
at the Las Campanas Observatory to obtain high-quality light curves of ~100
low-redshift Type Ia supernovae in a well-defined photometric system. Here we
present the first release of photometric data that contains the optical light
curves of 35 Type Ia supernovae, and near-infrared light curves for a subset of
25 events. The data comprise 5559 optical (ugriBV) and 1043 near-infrared
(YJHKs) data points in the natural system of the Swope telescope. Twenty-eight
supernovae have pre-maximum data, and for 15 of these, the observations begin
at least 5 days before B maximum. This is one of the most accurate datasets of
low-redshift Type Ia supernovae published to date. When completed, the CSP
dataset will constitute a fundamental reference for precise determinations of
cosmological parameters, and serve as a rich resource for comparison with
models of Type Ia supernovae.Comment: 93 pages, 8 figures, accepted for publication in A
CARMA-NRO Orion Survey: Core Emergence and Kinematics in the Orion A Cloud
We have investigated the formation and kinematics of submillimeter (submm) continuum cores in the Orion A molecular cloud. A comparison between submm continuum and near-infrared extinction shows a continuum core detection threshold of A_V ~ 5–10 mag. The threshold is similar to the star formation extinction threshold of A_V ~ 7 mag proposed by recent work, suggesting a universal star formation extinction threshold among clouds within 500 pc to the Sun. A comparison between the Orion A cloud and a massive infrared dark cloud G28.37+0.07 indicates that Orion A produces more dense gas within the extinction range 15 mag ≾ A V ≾ 60 mag. Using data from the CARMA-NRO Orion Survey, we find that dense cores in the integral-shaped filament (ISF) show subsonic core-to-envelope velocity dispersion that is significantly less than the local envelope line dispersion, similar to what has been found in nearby clouds. Dynamical analysis indicates that the cores are bound to the ISF. An oscillatory core-to-envelope motion is detected along the ISF. Its origin is to be further explored

presunción a renta efectiva.
