    Get PDF
This article seeks to extract some clues and generate some questions about the relationship between documentary photography and architecture as a cultural landscape, including architectural landscape and peasantry, between representation and architecture from the analysis of the documentary work Atín Aya developed in the southern Spain in the context of a few years characterized by rapid access to modernity. An approach to architectural photographic representation in light of visual studies and cultural history of ways of seeing

Chromomagnetic Dipole Moment of the Top Quark Revisited

We study the complete one-loop contributions to the chromagnetic dipole moment Δκ\Delta\kappa of the top quark in the Standard Model, two Higgs doublet models, topcolor assited technicolor models (TC2), 331 models and extended models with a single extra dimension. We find that the SM predicts Δκ=0.056\Delta\kappa = - 0.056 and that the predictions of the other models are also consitent with the constraints imposed on Δκ\Delta\kappa by low-energy precision measurements.Comment: 20 pages, 5 figures, Updat

Effect of the recycling process and binder type on bituminous mixtures with 100% reclaimed asphalt pavement

    Get PDF
There is a great interest in increasing the amount of recycled material used in asphalt mixes because of the beneficial impact on the environment. This is leading to the development of different recycling procedures, from cold in-situ to hot in-plant recycling. The objective of the study presented in this paper is to evaluate cracking resistance of recycled mixes manufactured by three types of processes, i.e., cold with emulsion, hot with high penetration bitumens and hot with emulsion (half-warm mixture), using 100% of reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) at different temperatures. Differences in their workability and ease of use are also analysed by gyratory compaction.Peer ReviewedPostprint (author's final draft

Is the Sgr dSph a dark matter dominated system?

We study the evolution of possible progenitors of Sgr dSph}using several numerical N-body simulations of different dwarf spheroidal galaxies both with and without dark matter, as they orbit the Milky Way. The barionic and dark components of the dwarfs were made obeying a Plummer and NFW potentials of one million particles respectively. The Milky Way was modeled like a tree-component rigid potential and the simulations were performed using a modified Gadget-2 code. We found that none of the simulated galaxies without dark matter reproduced the physical properties observed in Sgr dSph, suggesting that, at the beginning of its evolution, Sgr dSph might have been immersed in a dark matter halo. The simulations of progenitors immersed in dark matter halos suggest that Sgr dSph at its beginning might have been an extended system, i.e. its Plummer radius could have had a value approximated to 1.2 kpc or higher; furthermore, this galaxy could have been immersed in a dark halo with a mass higher than 10^8 solar masses. These results are important for the construction of a model of the formation of Sgr dSph.Comment: 13 pages, 6 figures, New Astronomy - accepte

A new primitive Neornithischian dinosaur from the Jurassic of Patagonia with gut contents

    Get PDF
We describe a new species of an ornithischian dinosaur, Isaberrysaura mollensis gen. et sp. nov. The specimen, consisting in an almost complete skull and incomplete postcranium was collected from the marine-deltaic deposits of the Los Molles Formation (Toarcian-Bajocian), being the first reported dinosaur for this unit, one of the oldest from Neuquén Basin, and the first neornithischian dinosaur known from the Jurassic of South America. Despite showing a general stegosaurian appearance, the extensive phylogenetic analysis carried out depicts Isaberrysaura mollensis gen. et sp. nov. as a basal ornithopod, suggesting that both Thyreophora and neornithischians could have achieved significant convergent features. The specimen was preserved articulated and with some of its gut content place in the middle-posterior part of the thoracic cavity. Such stomach content was identified as seeds, most of them belonging to the Cycadales group. This finding reveals a possible and unexpected role of this ornithischian species as seed-dispersal agent
