A novel series of 1-(2-chlorobenzyloxy)-3-[1,2,3]triazol-1-yl-propan-2-ol derivatives was designed and synthesized using copper catalyzed alkyne-azide cycloaddition in the key step. Theoretical investigation of molecular and electronic properties by means of global and local reactivity indexes of the synthetized compounds was carried out, using DFT (Density Functional Theory) at PBEPBE/6-31++G∗∗ levelCONACY

Potential of mathematical modeling in fruit quality

    Get PDF
A review of mathematical modeling applied to fruit quality showed that these models ranged inresolution from simple yield equations to complex  representations of processes as respiration, photosynthesis and assimilation of nutrients. The latter models take into account complex  genotype environment interactions to estimate their effects on growth and yield. Recently, models are used to estimate seasonal changes in quality traits as fruit size, dry matter, water content and the concentration of sugars and acids, which are very important for flavor and aroma. These models have demonstrated their ability to generate relationships between physiological variables and quality attributes (allometric relations). This new kind of hybrid models has sufficient complexity to predict quality traits behavior

Naturally Light Neutrinos and Unification in Theories with Low Scale Quantum Gravity

    Get PDF
Within low scale theories traditional see-saw and scalar triplet mechanisms, for neutrino mass suppression, do not work out anymore and for realistic model building some new ideas are needed. In this paper we suggest mechanism, different from existing ones, which provides natural suppression of the neutrino masses. The mechanism is realized through extended scalars of 4, 5 or 6 dimensional SU(2)LSU(2)_L multiplets. Scenario, with fundamental mass scale MfM_f in a ∼103\sim 10^{3} TeV range, requires 4-plets guaranteeing neutrino masses ∼<1\stackrel{<}{\sim}1 eV. For theories with Mf=few⋅10M_f= few \cdot 10 TeV 5-plets should be involved, while in scenarios with Mf=M_f= few TeV, 6-plets could be efficient. The considered mechanism could be successfully applied also for supersymmetric theories, building scenarios with various values of low MfM_f. Within considered models we also address the question of gauge coupling unification. For low scale unification, existence of compact extra dimensions turns out to be crucial. Due to additional scalar multiplets, some new examples of unification are found for both - non SUSY and SUSY cases. Within non SUSY scenarios introduced SU(2)LSU(2)_L scalars take advantage and are important for successful unification.Comment: LaTex, 1 eps figure, discussions and references adde

Evidence for right-handed neutrinos at a neutrino factory

We emphasize that a muon based neutrino factory could show the existence of light right-handed neutrinos, if a deficit in the number of detected events is observed at a near detector. This could be as large as ~10% if the size of the new interactions saturates the present limits from electroweak precision data, what is not excluded by the oscillation experiments performed up to now. A simple model realizing such a scenario can be obtained adding right-handed neutrinos to the minimal Standard Model, together with an extra scalar doublet and a triplet of hypercharge 1. In this case, however, the possible deficit is reduced by a factor of ~3, and the Yukawa couplings must be adequately chosen. This is also generically required if lepton flavour violation must be below present bounds.Comment: Latex 18 pages, 2 eps figure

Spontaneous R-Parity Violation, A4A_4 Flavor Symmetry and Tribimaximal Mixing

We explore the possibility of spontaneous R parity violation in the context of A4A_4 flavor symmetry. Our model contains SU(3)c×SU(2)L×U(1)YSU(3)_c \times SU(2)_L \times U(1)_Y singlet matter chiral superfields which are arranged as triplet of A4A_4 and as well as few additional Higgs chiral superfields which are singlet under MSSM gauge group and belong to triplet and singlet representation under the A4A_4 flavor symmetry. R parity is broken spontaneously by the vacuum expectation values of the different sneutrino fields and hence we have neutrino-neutralino as well as neutrino-MSSM gauge singlet higgsino mixings in our model, in addition to the standard model neutrino- gauge singlet neutrino, gaugino-higgsino and higgsino-higgsino mixings. Because all of these mixings we have an extended neutral fermion mass matrix. We explore the low energy neutrino mass matrix for our model and point out that with some specific constraints between the sneutrino vacuum expectation values as well as the MSSM gauge singlet Higgs vacuum expectation values, the low energy neutrino mass matrix will lead to a tribimaximal mixing matrix. We also analyze the potential minimization for our model and show that one can realize a higher vacuum expectation value of the SU(3)c×SU(2)L×U(1)YSU(3)_c \times SU(2)_L \times U(1)_Y singlet sneutrino fields even when the other sneutrino vacuum expectation values are extremely small or even zero.Comment: 18 page

Management system for optimizing public transport networks: GPS record

    Get PDF
As cities continue to grow in size and population, the design of public transport networks becomes complicated, given the wide diversity in the origins and destinations of users [1], as well as the saturation of vehicle infrastructure in large cities despite their attempts to adapt it according to population distribution. This indicates that, in order to reduce users’ travel time, it is necessary to implement alternative road solutions to the use of cars, increasing investment in public transportation [2, 3] by conducting a comprehensive analysis of the state of transportation. This situation has made appear the solutions and development oriented to transportation based on Internet of Things (IoT) which allows, in a first stage, monitoring of public transport systems, in order to optimize the deployment of transport units and thus reduce the time of transfer of users through the cities [4]. These solution proposals are focused on information collected from user resources (data collected through smart phones) to create a common database [5]. The present study proposes the development of an intelligent monitoring and management system for public transportation networks using a hybrid communication architecture based on wireless node networks using IPv6 and cellular networks (LTE, LTE-M)

The Snail repressor recruits EZH2 to specific genomic sites through the enrollment of the lncRNA HOTAIR in epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition

    Get PDF
The transcription factor Snail is a master regulator of cellular identity and epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT) directly repressing a broad repertoire of epithelial genes. How chromatin modifiers instrumental to its activity are recruited to Snail-specific binding sites is unclear. Here we report that the long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) HOTAIR (for HOX Transcript Antisense Intergenic RNA) mediates a physical interaction between Snail and enhancer of zeste homolog 2 (EZH2), an enzymatic subunit of the polycomb-repressive complex 2 and the main writer of chromatin-repressive marks. The Snail-repressive activity, here monitored on genes with a pivotal function in epithelial and hepatic morphogenesis, differentiation and cell-type identity, depends on the formation of a tripartite Snail/HOTAIR/EZH2 complex. These results demonstrate an lncRNA-mediated mechanism by which a transcriptional factor conveys a general chromatin modifier to specific genes, thereby allowing the execution of hepatocyte transdifferentiation; moreover, they highlight HOTAIR as a crucial player in the Snail-mediated EMT.Oncogene advance online publication, 25 July 2016; doi:10.1038/onc.2016.260
