Search for lepton-flavor violating decays of the Higgs boson in the mu tau and e tau final states in proton-proton collisions at root s=13 TeV

    Get PDF
A search is presented for lepton-flavor violating decays of the Higgs boson to mu t and et. The dataset corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 137 fb(-1) collected at the LHC in proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV. No significant excess has been found, and the results are interpreted in terms of upper limits on lepton-flavor violating branching fractions of the Higgs boson. The observed (expected) upper limits on the branching fractions are, respectively, B(H -> mu t) e tau) < 0.22(0.16)% at 95% confidence level.Peer reviewe

Chinese Journal of Organic Chemistry . 2020;40(10):3017-3025.Our recent research efforts on the synthesis of nonplariar nanographenes bearing tribeivotriquinacene or fenestrindane skeleton are stiirirnarizedWizard hat-shaped or saddle-shaped nanographenes could be prepared using a non-classical Scholl-type cycloheptatriene formation or 19-membered ring macrocyclization, The key to the success of these transformation relies on the proper installation of the electron rich aryl functional groups in the bay areas of these molecular motifs, The three-dimensional structures of some of the nanographenes were determined by X-ray cryistallography. Furthermore, these carbon-rich n-conjugated molecules are also showed to have interesting photophysical, self-assoication and host-guest complexation properties

Scholl-Type Cycloheptatriene Ring Closure of 1,4,9,12-Tetraarylfenestrindanes: Reactivity and Selectivity in the Construction of Fenestrane-Based Polyaromatic Saddles. Chemistry . 2019: chem.201904949.The Scholl-type cyclodehydrogenation generating up to four cycloheptatriene rings around a fenestrindane core leads to novel, saddle-shaped polyaromatic hydrocarbon derivatives. In this article, we present the results of in-depth experimental and computational works on the oxidative cyclization of various 1,4,9,12-tetraarylfenestrindanes. In particular, the kinetic control of the four-step cyclization of the electronically activated tetrakis(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl) derivative is elucidated. The reasons for the exclusive emergence of one single among the three possible doubly cyclized intermediates and for the nonappearance of the singly and triply cyclized intermediates are clarified. In addition, the origin of the concomitant bridgehead hydroxylation is studied. The reactivity of a set of fifteen symmetrically and unsymmetrically substituted 1,4,9,12-tetraarylfenestrindanes towards Scholl-type cyclodehydrogenation is presented, pinpointing the structural factors that underlie this reaction and demonstrating the potential and limitations of this synthetic approach. A particularly surprising finding of this study is that the electronically nonactivated 1,4,9,12-tetraphenylfenestrindane can also undergo the fourfold Scholl-type cyclization process and can be transformed to the parent saddle hydrocarbon. © 2019 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. Clinical and social correlates of duration of untreated psychosis among adult-onset psychosis in Hong Kong Chinese: The JCEP study

Aim: Understanding factors that contribute to treatment delay would inform early detection and intervention strategies in psychotic disorders. However, existing data were mixed and primarily conducted among early-onset young patients. We examined duration of untreated psychosis (DUP) and its clinical and sociodemographic correlates in a large cohort of adult-onset patients with psychosis. Methods: A total of 360 patients with first-onset psychosis aged 26-55 years were recruited consecutively as part of a controlled study of an early psychosis intervention service in Hong Kong Chinese. Demographic, sociodemographic and clinical characteristics relating to DUP were assessed within 4 months of onset. Results: The population had a mean onset age of 36.6 years (SD=8.7). The mean and median DUP were 515 days (SD=1091) and 93 days (inter-quartile range from 20 to 382.3), respectively. Multivariate regression analysis suggested that insidious mode of onset, hospitalization, a diagnosis of schizophrenia, poorer insight and younger age at onset significantly prolonged DUP. DUP was not related to premorbid functioning, family involvement during help seeking and living alone. Conclusions: The initial period of untreated psychosis is determined by multiple factors. Whether family involvement is considered a kind of social support in shortening or prolonging DUP needs further examination. Local early intervention program for psychosis should take reference from these findings when formulating personalized plans to reduce delay. © 2013 Wiley Publishing Asia Pty Ltd.link_to_subscribed_fulltex

    Treatment of [M(Buppy)(2)Cl](2) (M = Ir (1), Rh (2); BuppyH = 2-(4'-tert-butylphenyl)pyridine) with Na(Et2NCS2), K[S2P(OMe)(2)], and K[N(Ph2PS)(2)](2) afforded monomeric [Ir(Buppy)(2)((SS)-S-boolean AND)] (SAS=Et2NCS2 (3), S2P(OMe)(2) (4), N(PPh2S)(2) (5)) and [Rh(Buppy)(2)((SS)-S-boolean AND)] ((SS)-S-boolean AND=Et2NCS2 (6), S2P(OMe)(2) (7), N(PPh2S)(2) (8)), respectively. Reaction of 1 with Na[N(PPh2Se)(2)] gave [Ir(Buppy)(2){N(PPh2Se)(2)}] (9). The crystal structures of 3, 4, 7, and 8 have been determined. Treatment of 1 or 2 with AgOTf (OTf = triflate) followed by reaction with KSCN gave dinuclear [{M(Buppy)(2)}(2)(mu-SCN)(2)] (M =Ir (10), Rh (11)), in which the SCN- ligands bind to the two metal centers in a mu-S,N fashion. Interaction of 1 and 2 with [Et4N](2)[WQ(4)] gave trinuclear heterometallic complexes [{Ir(Buppy)(2)}(2)(mu-WQ(4))] (Q = S (12), Se (13)) and [{Rh(Buppy)(2)}(2){(mu-WQ)(4)}] (Q = S (14), Se (15)), respectively. Hydrolysis of 12 led to formation of [{Ir(Buppy)(2)}2{W(O)(muS)(2)(mu(3)-S)}] (16) that has been characterized by X-ray diffraction. (C) 2004 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved

Pervasive Computing Environments Based on Short Range Wireless Technologies: Issues and a Proposed System

    No full text
Pervasive computing environments are useful for efficiently disseminating and generating new information. However, many challenging research problems need to be solved before such a system can be realized. Several experimental and commercial systems exist but they only tackle a subset of the problems. We propose a system based on Bluetooth and identify some important research issues to be handled
