    A Pedagogia alemã e a imprensa pedagógica portuguesa como vasos comunicantes : o caso da revista Froebel

    Este artículo tiene como objetivo abordar la presencia social de la educación en la prensa pedagógica. Hemos tomado esta decisión debido a que los medios de comunicación tuvieron un papel importante en la circulación y difusión de ideas y prácticas educativas. Con este fin, seleccionamos la revista Froebel (1882-1885) para su análisis. Los objetivos que persigue este estudio son: a) La interpretación de las innovaciones curriculares difundidas por la revista Froebel, bajo el contexto educativo a finales del siglo xix en Portugal; b) Analizar el impacto educativo que la revista Froebel tuvo a finales del siglo xix; c) Discutir el valor histórico-educativo que los conceptos educativos introducidos por la revista Froebel tuvieron en la realidad portuguesa. Se utilizó como método de análisis de la revista sus condiciones de realización y producción. Estas dos condiciones significan un conjunto de relaciones que se establecen en un contexto dado, entre los miembros de un grupo de personas. Es importante tenerlo en cuenta debido a que los cambios implican la combinación de estos dos tipos de factores. Como conclusión de este estudio podemos decir que la revista tuvo un gran impacto en la comunidad educativa portuguesa, ya que las concepciones que la revista defendía se oponían a la pedagogía tradicional que existía en ése momento en Portugal. La educación se forja en una comunidad de ideas y es posible identificar las que en la revista se materializan –la influencia de los principios pedagógicos del educador alemán es evidente en las opciones pedagógicas de los educadores portugueses de finales del siglo xix. Creemos que legítimamente podemos decir que la revista Froebel condujo a una nueva concepción educativa. Con ella, se promovieron prácticas de enseñanzas innovadoras –viajes escolares, lecciones de cosas, museo educativo, guardería, educación física y artes.The aim of this article is to analyze the social presence of education in pedagogic press. It is known that the media had an important role in the circulation and dissemination of educational ideas and practices. To this end, we selected the Froebel magazine (1882-1885) to analyze it. The objectives of this study are: a) The objectives of this study are: a) the interpretation of curriculum innovations spread by the Froebel magazine, under the educational context of the late 19th century in Portugal; b) to analyze the impact that Froebel had on education at the end of the 19th century; c) to discuss the historical and educational impact that the pedagogic concepts introduced by Froebel journal had on the Portuguese reality. The development and production conditions of the magazine have been used as a method of analysis. These two conditions are determined by a set of relationships in a given context, among the members of a group of people. It is important to bear in mind the fact that changes imply the combination of these two kinds of factors. In conclusion we can say that the analyzed magazine had a great impact on the Portuguese educational community, since the conceptions magazine defended opposed the traditional pedagogy that existed at that time in Portugal. Education is built within a community of ideas and it is possible to identify those that materialised in the magazine, such as the influence of pedagogical principles of German educators, which is reflected in the choice of educators teaching Portuguese in the late 19th century. It may be said that the Froebel magazine led to a new conception of education, promoting innovative teaching practices –school trips, lessons, educational museum, kindergarten, physical education and arts.Aquest article pretén analitzar la presència social de l'educació a la premsa pedagògica. Hom sap que els mitjans de comunicació van tenir un paper important en la circulació i difusió d'idees i pràctiques educatives. Amb aquesta finalitat, s'ha seleccionat la revista Froebel (1882-1885) per fer-ne una anàlisi. Els objectius que persegueix aquest estudi són: a) la interpretació de les innovacions curriculars difoses per la revista Froebel, en el context educatiu de la fi del segle xix a Portugal; b) analitzar l'impacte educatiu que la revista Froebel va tenir a final del segle xix; c) discutir el valor historicoeducatiu que els conceptes educatius introduïts per la revista Froebel van tenir en la realitat portuguesa. S'ha utilitzat com a mètode d'anàlisi de la revista les seves condicions de realització i producció. Aquestes dues condicions estan determinades per un conjunt de relacions que s'estableixen en un context donat, entre els membres d'un grup de persones. És important tenir-ho en compte pel fet que els canvis impliquen la combinació d'aquests dos tipus de factors. Com a conclusió d'aquest estudi podem dir que la revista analitzada va tenir un gran impacte en la comunitat educativa portuguesa, ja que les concepcions que la revista defensava s'oposaven a la pedagogia tradicional que existia en aquell moment a Portugal. L'educació es forja en una comunitat d'idees, i és possible identificar les que a la revista es materialitzaren –la influència dels principis pedagògics de l'educador alemany és evident en les opcions pedagògiques dels educadors portuguesos de final del segle xix.     La moderna concepció liberal de ciutadania, que es remunta a la revolució Francesa i a la Declaració dels drets de l'Home de 1789, corrobora la validesa dels drets naturals sent la comprensió conceptual d'aquests drets i la voluntat de salvaguardar- los el que permet la construcció d'un món nou. Per tant, el nucli de la modernitat política es troba en el pas de la sobirania règia a la sobirania de la nació, i apareix a l'agenda política la lluita pels drets humans. Si l'educació cívica es va convertir en un aspecte nuclear de la política i del projecte pedagògic de la I República (1910-1926), ja que es pretenia amb aquesta consagrar el nou règim i donar-hi legitimitat, també les Societats d'Instrucció Militar Preparatòria, que eren espais d'adoctrinament polític, es dirigirien a la formació del ciutadà-soldat. La Instrucció Militar Preparatòria va ser una de les maneres de concretar la idea de ciutadania dels republicans. En aquest sentit, és pertinent plantejar-se les qüestions següents: Quines particularitats destaquen en aquest procés? Com es concreta la idea de ciutadania? Com es concilien els drets amb les obligacions dels ciutadans?. Amb la nostra investigació pretenem fer una anàlisi de l'educació de la joventut que dóna resposta als valors de la societat emergent. Per a això pretenem utilitzar l'enfocament metodològic de Michel Foucault. Com a conseqüència el cos servirà com focus principal de la nostra investigació.The modern liberal conception of citizenship, which dates back to the French Revolution and the Declaration of the Human Rights and of the Citizen (1789), embodies the term of natural rights being the conceptual apprehension of these rights and the willingness to safeguard them that allows the construction of a new world . The core of political modernity lies therefore in the passage of royal sovereignty to the sovereignty of the nation, putting up a fight on the political agenda on human rights. Thus, if Civic Education became nuclear in the political and pedagogical project of the 1st Portuguese Republic (1910-1926) because it was devoted to her and legitimize the new regime, also in societies of Preparatory Military Instruction, which were places of political indoctrination, the core purpose was to legitimate the formation of the citizen-soldier. The Preparatory Military Instruction was one of the possibilities of realizing the idea of citizenship of the Republicans. In this sense, it is of the utmost relevance to pose the following questions: What features stand out in this process? How does the idea of citizenship take place? How do we conciliate the right with the obligation of the citizens? With our work we want to do the analysis of the education of youth by the values of the emerging society. Therefore, we intend to apply Michel Foucault‘s methodological approach. As a result of this option, the body serves as a main focus of our research.La moderna concepción liberal de ciudadanía, que se remonta a la revolución Francesa y a la Declaración de los derechos del Hombre de 1789, corrobora la validez de los derechos naturales siendo la comprensión conceptual de estos derechos y la voluntad de salvaguardarlos lo que permirte la construcción de un mundo nuevo. Por tanto, el núcleo de la modernidad política se encuentra en el paso de la soberanía regia a la soberanía de la nación, colocandose en la agenda política la lucha por los derechos humanos. Si la educación cívica se convirtió en un aspecto nuclear de la política y del proyecto pedagógico de la I República (1910-1926), pues se pretendía con ella consagrar y legitimar el nuevo régimen, también las Sociedades de Instrucción Militar Preparatoria, que eran espacios de adoctrinamiento político, se dirigían a la formación del ciudadano-soldado. La Instrucción Militar Preparatoria fue una de las formas de concretar la idea de ciudadanía de los republicanos. En este sentido, es pertinente plantearse las siguientes cuestiones: ¿Qué particularidades destacan en este proceso? ¿Cómo se concreta la idea de ciudadanía? ¿Cómo se concilian los derechos con las obligaciones de los ciudadanos?. Con nuestra investigación pretendemos hacer un anàlisis de la educación de la juventud segun los valores de la sociedad emergente. Para ello pretendemos utilizar el enfoque metodológico de Michel Foucault. Como consecuencia el cuerpo servirá como foco principal de nuestra investigación

    The mediating role of negative affect on the relationship between emotional intelligence abilities and aggressive behavior levels

    The aim of the present research aimed to study the mechanisms underlying the relationship between aggressive behaviour and individual levels of ability emotional intelligence (EI). We particularly focused on the mediator role of negative affect explaining this relationship. Three hundred and ninety-five participants took part in the study. Participants were assessed on ability EI (by the Mayer-Salovey-Caruso Emotional Intelligence Test), aggression (Buss-Perry Aggression questionnaire), and negative affect (the Positive and Negative Affect Schedule). Path analyses were used to explore which branches of the ability EI are directly related to the four aggression dimensions (physical aggression, verbal aggression, anger and hostility) and indirectly related via negative affect. The results revealed a negative relationship between ability EI and aggression, but this relationship was a function of multiple factors such as the performance level in each of the ability EI branches, the type of aggression studied, the mediator effect of NA, and gender. The emotional managing branch showed a direct effect on aggression, specifically this branch was directly related to physical, verbal, and hostility aggression. Moreover, the emotional perception branch was indirectly related to the four aggression dimensions (physical, verbal, anger, and hostility) through negative affect acting as mediator. The direction of these relationships was always negative, that is, greater ability EI was associated with lower levels of aggression, highlighting the strength of the association with physical aggression. Finally, results also showed interesting gender differences. Women possess greater EI abilities, higher levels of negative affect, less aggressive behaviour, and a lower relationship between negative affect and aggression compared with men.     Manipulação política e competência política de enfermeiros

    Objetivo: desarrollar una reflexión acerca del debate político en la actualidad, el cual se encuentra empobrecido y dicotomizado, y la relación con la profesión y la práctica enfermera. Contenido: el debate presentado sobrepasa la política y trasciende a la vida social cotidiana, a la que permanentemente alimenta. Aspectos como el simplismo, el individualismo, la corrosión de la ciudadanía y el pensamiento único son comentados como parte de procesos de manipulación política. La enfermería, como profesión y práctica social que se ancla en principios ético-políticos y humanísticos, ha quedado al margen del debate político y tiende a tener su actuación abducida por el discurso político engañoso. Conclusión: Es un imperativo ético que enfermeras desarrollen su competencia política a fin de participar de modo activo e imprescindible en sociedades marcadas por el pluralismo de ideas y el multiculturalismo, para la prestación de cuidados dignos. Al asumir la competencia política, se puede contribuir a los cambios sociales, a partir de los cuidados, y a través de los cuidados enfermeros.Objective: to reflect on current political debate, which is impoverished and dichotomized, and on its relation to nursing as profession and practice. Content: the debate presented goes beyond politics and transcends everyday social life, into which it feeds constantly. Factors such as simplism, individualism, the corrosion of citizenship, and one-track thinking are commented on as forming part of processes of political manipulation. Nursing, as a profession and social practice anchored in ethical, political, and humanistic principles, has been marginal to political debate, and its activities tend to be abducted by deceitful political discourse. Conclusion: it is an ethical imperative for nurses, in order to provide decent care, to develop their political skills in order to become indispensable, active participants in societies characterized by a pluralism of ideas and multiculturalism. By developing political competence, nurses can contribute to social change on the basis of care and through nursing care.Objetivo: desenvolver reflexão sobre o debate político atual, empobrecido e dicotomizado, e a relação com a profissão e a prática de enfermagem. Conteúdo: o debate apresentado ultrapassa a política e transcende a vida social cotidiana, à qual permanentemente alimenta. Aspectos como o simplismo, o individualismo, a corrosão da cidadania e o pensamento único são comentados como parte de processos de manipulação política. A enfermagem, como profissão e prática social que se ancora em princípios ético-políticos e humanísticos, tem ficado à margem do debate político e tende a ter sua atuação abduzida pelo discurso político enganoso. Conclusão: É um imperativo ético que os enfermeiros desenvolvam sua competência política a fim de participar de modo ativo e imprescindível em sociedades marcadas pelo pluralismo de ideias e pelo multiculturalismo, para a prestação de cuidados dignos.     Estudo da caracterização das necessidades de formação dos Docentes de Educação Especial face á Utilização do referencial CIF-CJ no Âmbito do processo de avaliação e Intervenção em Crianças / Jovens com NEE

    Com a publicação do Decreto-Lei n.º3/2008, de 7 de Janeiro, a Classificação Internacional de Funcionalidade, Incapacidade e Saúde (CIF) e a sua posterior versão para crianças e jovens (CIF-CJ), passou a ser o documento de referência na determinação da elegibilidade de crianças para usufruírem dos apoios especializados, o que acarretou para todos os elementos da comunidade educativa e, em particular, os docentes de educação especial, a necessidade de conhecer e pôr em prática todo o processo daí decorrente. Foi neste contexto que nos propusemos estudar a caracterização das necessidades de formação dos docentes de educação especial face à utilização do referencial CIF-CJ no âmbito do processo de avaliação e intervenção com crianças/jovens com NEE. Para tal, utilizámos o questionário como instrumento de estudo, numa amostra constituída por 913 docentes de educação especial de todo o país (Portugal Continental). Com o estudo, foi possível caracterizar a formação já recebida e, paralelamente, caracterizar as percepções das necessidades de formação na área da CIF, bem como as modalidades percebidas como mais adequadas para a formação, os profissionais a envolver e os conteúdos a abordar. ### ABSTRACT With the publication of Decree-Law N.º 3/2008, of January 7, the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) and its later version for children and youth (ICF-CY), went on to be the reference document in determining the eligibility of children to benefit of specialized supports with restraints for all elements of the educational community and, in particular, the special education teachers, the need to know and implement the whole process as might derive there from. It was in this context that we have proposed to study the characterization of the special education teachers’ training needs towards the use of ICF-CY framework in the assessment and intervention process with children/youth with SEN. To this end, we have used the questionnaire as a tool of study, in a sample consisting of 913 special education teachers across the country (Portugal Continental). With the study, it was possible to characterize the training already received and, in parallel, characterize the perceptions of training needs in the area of ICF, as well as the modalities understood as the more suitable for training professionals to engage and the contents to be focused.     How couple’s relationship lasts over time? A model for marital satisfaction

    High rates of divorce seem related to low marital satisfaction levels; however, there is still a lack of a model that can help understand the couple's resilience and fragility throughout the life cycle. This research explores the role of communication patterns, their own and partner's motivation for conjugality, cohesion and flexibility within a couple, and several sociodemographic characteristics (e.g., stage of the family life cycle) that can explain marital satisfaction. A sample of 331 Portuguese in a marital relationship completed a sociodemographic questionnaire and marital satisfaction measures, communication and conflict management competencies, cohesion and flexibility, and motivation. Adequate statistical analysis was performed using descriptive statistics and structural equation modeling. Both measurement and structural model performed in the study presented a good fit, with five significant predictors of marital satisfaction (that accounted for 85% of the variability): intrinsic motivation (β = .64), communication (β = .31), families with young children (β = -.08), families with teenagers (β = -.07) and professional/academic status (β = .06). By identifying a model for marital satisfaction, this research provides clues regarding which aspects might need to be considered in couples' clinical work to promote healthier relationships.Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia - FCTinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio

    Appropriation and plagiarism have been themes much debated in the last century. Since the emergence of Duchamp's ready-mades in the first half of the twentieth century, it has become impossible to ignore the issue of the use, by certain artists, of works or concepts developed by others. The phenomenon already existed previously, but with Marcel Duchamp it began to be debated critically in the bosom of the art and generally by the public. What makes an artist the author of his work of art? What relation exists between authorship and interpretation of meaning, that makes the work of art to be interpreted in the light of the artist's meanings? This article seeks, through the objectivity of the concepts, to research, debate and explore the interconnection between appropriation, plagiarism and artistic originality.A apropriação e o plágio têm sido temáticas muito debatidas no último século. Desde o aparecimento dos ready-mades de Duchamp, na primeira metade do século XX, que se tornou impossível ignorar a questão da utilização por parte de determinados artistas, de obras ou conceitos desenvolvidos por outros.
