Patterns, Trends and Policy Processes in Spanish Secondary Education: Multiple Streams in a Multilevel Context

Educational policies in Spain have been characterized by conflict and continuous changes to legislation in the Central State. However, Spain is a decentralized State and the Autonomous Communities (regions) are responsible for implementing secondary education. The article aims at explaining and analyzing how Autonomous Communities have defined their educational models and policies for secondary education based on an unstable state legal framework. The analysis focuses on key elements of State legislation, such as the management methods of schools and the adaptation of policies to social differences between autonomous communities. Based on Zahariadis' multiple streams model, the article concludes by pointing out the importance of the context and its impact on the policies, the relevance of the ruling party's ideology in each Autonomous Community and the involvement of stakeholders in the implementation of secondary education policy

Tutor virtual: el rol del profesor ante el reto de la enseñanza online del Derecho

La introducción de las TICs en los procesos de enseñanza-aprendizaje exige hacer frente al reto de su inserción y adaptación al mismo en el ámbito universitario, así como analizar las diversas estrategias formativas y comunicativas recomendadas para el uso de las TICs en la docencia. En este entorno resulta conveniente examinar el rol asignado al e-tutor o e-profesor y, como correlato, el papel del alumno en el marco de la enseñanza online del Derecho. Ello pasa por la identificación de las funciones que debe llevar a cabo el tutor online (lo que, en definitiva, contribuye a definir y reforzar los rasgos de esta figura) que, si bien deben adaptarse a la nueva metodología docente, no deben ser necesariamente distintas a las del tutor presencial. Este objetivo exige determinar las técnicas y competencias más adecuadas para la acción tutorial virtual y requiere una seria reflexión sobre el uso de las herramientas disponibles para este fin, cuestión conectada con las innumerables ventajas de las TICs para la comunicación profesor-alumno (sin olvidar la necesidad de superar también algunos problemas). Se trata de aprovechar el e-learning para imprimir un cambio en la metodología docente respecto del rol que está llamado a desempeñar el e-tutor

Ello pasa por la identificación de las funciones que debe llevar a cabo el tutor online (lo que, en definitiva, contribuye a definir y reforzar los rasgos de esta figura) que, si bien deben adaptarse a la nueva metodología docente, no deben ser necesariamente distintas a las del tutor presencial. Este objetivo exige determinar las técnicas y competencias más adecuadas para la acción tutorial virtual y requiere una seria reflexión sobre el uso de las herramientas disponibles para este fin, cuestión conectada con las innumerables ventajas de las TICs para la comunicación profesor-alumno (sin olvidar la necesidad de superar también algunos problemas). Se trata de aprovechar el e-learning para imprimir un cambio en la metodología docente respecto del rol que está llamado a desempeñar el e-tutor. Todo ello parte de nuestra experiencia en esta materia.The introduction of ICT in the teaching-learning processes gave rise to the challenge of its application at a University level, and to the need of an analysis of the different training and communication strategies recommended for the use of the ITC for teaching purposes. For that reason, it is useful to examine the role assigned to the e-tutor and, as a consequence, the role played by the student in the context of online Legal Education. This calls for the identification of the functions to be carried out by the online tutor (which help to define the features of this figure). We conclude that, apart from adapting his task to the new teaching methodology (online), his role is not necessarily different from the one played by a tutor. We also consider the teaching techniques and skills for a virtual tutorial support for students and we think seriously about the use of the tools available for this purpose. This idea connects with the advantages and risks of ICT for teacher-student communication. To sum up, the introduction of the ICT is enabling a change in the teaching methodology. This paper shows our practical experience on this matter

Vida y obra del músico valenciano Francisco Antich Carbonell

Aquesta tesi doctoral se centra en la recuperació i estudi de la figura del músic valencià, de Silla, Francisco Antich Carbonell, en les seves facetes de compositor, organista, pedagog i editor musical. La finalitat d'aquesta tesi és donar a conèixer la trajectòria personal i la contribució al patrimoni musical valencià d'aquest músic de qui va ser mestre de compositors i personalitats tan rellevants de la historiografia musical del nostre país com Eduardo López-Chavarri Marco, Rafael Rodríguez Albert o Joaquín Rodrigo. L'estudi de les obres que es conserven actualment en els diferents arxius i biblioteques de València, m'ha permès elaborar un complet catàleg de producció musical, a través del qual podem conèixer les característiques musicals i tècniques de cadascuna d'elles, així com els manuscrits i les edicions impreses, i localitzar en quins arxius i biblioteques podem trobar cada obra, la qual cosa unit a aspectes d'escriptura i transcripció, ens ofereixen una gran font d'informació sobre les seves obres. Això ens ha permès també trobar obres noves que no havien estat abans citades en altres biografies o catàlegs musicals d'aquest músic i compositor. La col·laboració musical de Francisco Antich Carbonell amb un altre músic i compositor, Gervasio Mariano Pérez Sánchez de Requena -més conegut com Mariano Pérez Sánchez-, m'ha permès endinsar-me en la faceta de la composició musical escènica, de temàtica profana, de Francisco Antich Carbonell. Al meu entendre aquest músic de Silla, hauria d'ocupar un lloc destacat en la música valenciana i espanyola.Esta tesis doctoral se centra en la recuperación y estudio de la figura del músico valenciano, de Silla, Francisco Antich Carbonell, en sus facetas de compositor, organista, pedagogo y editor musical. La finalidad de esta tesis es dar a conocer la trayectoria personal y la contribución al patrimonio musical valenciano de este músico de quien fue maestro de compositores y personalidades tan relevantes de la historiografía musical de nuestro país como Eduardo López-Chavarri Marco, Rafael Rodríguez Albert o Joaquín Rodrigo. El estudio de las obras que se conservan actualmente en los diferentes archivos y bibliotecas de Valencia, me ha permitido elaborar un completo catálogo de producción musical, a través del cual podemos conocer las características musicales y técnicas de cada una de ellas, así como los manuscritos y las ediciones impresas, y localizar en qué archivos y bibliotecas podemos encontrar cada obra, lo que unido a aspectos de escritura y transcripción, nos ofrecen una gran fuente de información sobre sus obras. Eso nos ha permitido también encontrar obras nuevas que no habían estado antes citadas en otras biografías o catálogos musicales de este músico y compositor. La colaboración musical de Francisco Antich Carbonell con otro músico y compositor, Gervasio Mariano Pérez Sánchez de Requena -más conocido como Mariano Pérez Sánchez-, me ha permitido adentrarme en la faceta de la composición musical escénica, de temática profana, de Francisco Antich Carbonell. En mi opinión este músico de Silla, debería ocupar un lugar destacado en la música valenciana y española.This thesis doctoral focuses on the recovery and study of the figure of the Valencian musician, of Silla, Francisco Antich Carbonell, in his facets of composer, organist, pedagogo and musical editor. The purpose of this thesis is to make known the personal trajectory and contribution to the Valencian musical heritage of this musician of whome he was the teacher of composers and personalities as relevant in the musical historiography of our country as Eduardo López-Chavarri Marco, Rafael Rodríguez Albert or Joaquín Rodrigo. The study of the works that are currently preserved in the different archives and libraries of Valencia, has allowed me elaborate a complete catalogue of musical production, through which we can know the musical and technical characteristics of each one of them, as well as the manuscripts and the printed editions, and locate in which files and libraries can find each work, which together with aspects of writing and transcription, offer us a great source of information about his works. That has also allowed us to find new works that had not previously been mentioned in other biographies or musical catalogues of this musician and composer. The musical collaboration of Francisco Antich Carbonell with another musician and composer, Gervasio Mariano Pérez Sánchez of Requena –better known as Mariano Pérez Sánchez-, has allowed me to delve into the facet of Francisco Antich Carbonell's stage music composition. Relationship between stressful life events and emotional intelligence in Mexican adolescents: Male vs. female comparative study

Adolescents can present high levels of stress when faced with various biopsychosocial changes, affecting their daily activities and influencing the initiation and development of risk behaviours and/or a mental disorder. Therefore, it is important to identify protective factors against stress, such as emotional intelligence, for adolescentsIntroduction. Therefore, it is important to identify protective factors against stress, such as emotional intelligence, for adolescents. Objective. Determine the effect of stressful life events (SLE) and perceived emotional intelligence (PEI) on the stress level in adolescent high school students and identify differences by sex. Method. Cross-sectional study, 1 417 adolescents (57% women and 43% men), with an average age of 15.90 (SD = .91), who were evaluated in levels of PEI, SLE, and stress perceived. Results. The results show high rates of stressful events experienced. Attention to emotions increases the perception of stress in both sexes, while clarity and emotional repair have a stress-reducing effect on women. Discussion and conclusions. The results suggest that the PEI is determinant in the emotional self-control and the adaptive capacity of the adolescent to face stressful situations.Universidad Autónoma del Estado de Méxic

La experiencia de posgrado consiste en plantear al estudiantado una reflexión introspectiva a través de nubes de conceptos sobre los principales aspectos que caracterizan la Vejez, con la aplicación social Wordle (http://www.wordle.net). Este software social permite diseñar nubes de etiquetas (tag clouds) de forma dinámica y fácil a partir de los conceptos que se le indica. Se desarrolla con estudiantes que cursan el Máster de Gerontología, Dirección y Gestión de Centros Gerontológicos de la Universidad Pablo de Olavide, durante el curso académico 2012/13. English Teaching Techniques Vrs Spanish Teaching Techniques on students from 7th grade at ottackring public school in Managua

The present system educative of our country has come worrying so much as far as the improvement of the methodology of education for the professors that conform this vast and complex system. The pedagogy offers many fundamental methods and techniques of extreme utility and importance for the interest of the teachers, based on the improvement of the education of the subjects that these distribute as much in each one of the training centers of primary, secondary, technical and superior. The application of techniques into the process of educative formation plays a role extremely important, since on the effective and correct use it depends the quality and the yield of the students in relation to the academic score; without application of methods and techniques of education, could be impossible to reach satisfactory profits for the learning on the part of the students of any sub educative system of our country. The qualification is another fundamental element to equip with tools and elements very useful and important for all the teachers, since this guide. Nowadays the learning of the maternal language of our country as is the case of Spanish and the learning of the foreign language as is the case of English appears like subjects of much difficulty of learning for the students of any kind of sub educative system. Example-driven meta-model development

The final publication is available at Springer via http://dx.doi.org/10.1007/s10270-013-0392-yThe intensive use of models in model-driven engineering (MDE) raises the need to develop meta-models with different aims, such as the construction of textual and visual modelling languages and the specification of source and target ends of model-to-model transformations. While domain experts have the knowledge about the concepts of the domain, they usually lack the skills to build meta-models. Moreover, meta-models typically need to be tailored according to their future usage and specific implementation platform, which demands knowledge available only to engineers with great expertise in specific MDE platforms. These issues hinder a wider adoption of MDE both by domain experts and software engineers. In order to alleviate this situation, we propose an interactive, iterative approach to meta-model construction, enabling the specification of example model fragments by domain experts, with the possibility of using informal drawing tools like Dia or yED. These fragments can be annotated with hints about the intention or needs for certain elements. A meta-model is then automatically induced, which can be refactored in an interactive way, and then compiled into an implementation meta-model using profiles and patterns for different platforms and purposes.
