Effect of agro-climatic conditions on near infrared spectra of extra virgin olive oils
Authentication of extra virgin olive oil requires fast and cost-effective analytical procedures, such as near infrared spectroscopy. Multivariate analysis and chemometrics have been successfully applied in several papers to gather qualitative and quantitative information of extra virgin olive oils from near infrared spectra. Moreover, there are many examples in the literature analysing the effect of agro-climatic conditions on food content, in general, and in olive oil components, in particular. But the majority of these studies considered a factor, a non-numerical variable, containing this meteorological information. The present work uses all the agro-climatic data with the aim of highlighting the linear relationships between them and the near infrared spectra. The study begins with a graphical motivation, continues with a bivariate analysis and, finally, applies redundancy analysis to extend and confirm the previous conclusions.Peer Reviewe
Constitutive modeling of hot deformation of carbon steels in the intercritical zone
A previous constitutive modeling for single-phase steels is extended using the mixing law to predict the behavior of hot deformation in the dual phase ferritic-austenitic intercritical zone of Fe-C-Mn-Si alloys. Mixing law considers two phases instead one, so one phase formula was modified. The constant’s values used represents average values to the same conditions in austenitic and ferritic model. The amount of each phase is determined as function of temperature and chemical composition. The developed constitutive modeling is validated by comparing the theoretical stress-strain curves with experimental isothermal uniaxial compression tests of 1008 and 1035 carbon steels at different temperatures and strain rates. The compression tests were carried out in a dilatometer with the compression load at strain rate of 10-3, 10-2 and 10-1 s-1. A good agreement was obtained between the calculated and experimental results over different stages of deformation and hardening. Microstructural analysis was also carried out to relate the deformation results to the microstructure of the steels. Finally, a general constitutive equation has been proposed for hot deformation of steels in the intercritical zone.Peer ReviewedPostprint (published version

in 26%. The average level of TSH was 6.92 ± 2.29 U/ml
and the average level of free T4 was 1.16 ± 0.16 ng/ml.
Conclusions: Prevalence subclinical hypothyroidism
was 3.8%. especially in women with a mean age of 46. The
incidence of cardiovascular risk factors in the subjects
studied is higher in DM (13%), similar to general population
in terms of dyslipidemia (40%) and obesity (23%)
and lowest in hypertension (23%). In our study we observed
a common pattern in the management of subclinical
hypothyroidism, requiring the implementation and promotion
of practice guidelines in primary car
A psychometric study of a Spanish version of the negative acts questionnaire-revised: confirmatory factor analysis.
Background: The NAQ (Negative Acts Questionnaire) has been widely used in more than 40 countries to measure the mobbing phenomenon. This research aims to present a psychometric study based on the Spanish version of the NAQ-R carried out by González-Trijueque and Graña (2013). As opposed to the original scale, this sample contains 23 items and a three-dimension model (personal bullying, work-related bullying, and physically intimidating forms of bullying).
Methods: We used a heterogeneous occupational sample of 2,538 Spanish employees to analyze internal consistency and concurrent validity. In addition, a Confirmatory Factor Analysis was carried out based on the GLS (generalized least squares) method.
Results: Results showed high internal reliability (Cronbach’s alpha = 0.91) and high correlations containing clinical symptoms, burn-out indicators, and coping resources. The Confirmatory Factor Analysis developed upon the heterogeneous occupational sample validates the three-dimension structure in the Spanish version of the NAQ-R aimed to measure harassment behaviors at the workplace.
Conclusion: The NAQ-R reaffirms its validity and reliability as a measure for mobbing-related behaviors. Hence, the scale may become a useful tool in research and forensic practice.post-print779 K
Buccodental health and oral mucositis : clinical study in patients with hematological diseases
The Probabilistic Backbone of Data-Driven Complex Networks: An example in Climate
Correlation Networks (CNs) inherently suffer from redundant information in
their network topology. Bayesian Networks (BNs), on the other hand, include
only non-redundant information (from a probabilistic perspective) resulting in
a sparse topology from which generalizable physical features can be extracted.
We advocate the use of BNs to construct data-driven complex networks as they
can be regarded as the probabilistic backbone of the underlying complex system.
Results are illustrated at the hand of a global climate dataset

New approaches in the chemometric analysis of infrared spectra of extra-virgin olive oils
The aim of this paper is to apply new chemometric approaches to obtain quantitative information from near and mid infrared spectra of Andalusian extra-virgin olive oils, using gas chromatography as a classical reference analytical technique. Estimations of the content in saturated, monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fatty acids are given using partial least squares regression from the near and mid infrared data matrices as well as their concatenated matrix. The different estimations are evaluated in terms of goodness of fit (calibration) and prediction (validation), as a function of the number of partial least squares factors in the regression model and the used matrix of data. Furthermore, the nature, systematic or random, of the prediction errors is studied by a decomposition of their mean squared error. Finally, procedures of cross-validation are implemented in order to generalize the previous results
