Simultaneous measurement of humidity and vibration based on a nanowire sensor system using Fast Fourier Transform technique
This paper presents a new sensor system for vibration and relative humidity measurements
based on its interaction with the evanescent field of a microwire. The interrogation of the
sensing head is carried out by monitoring the fast Fourier transform (FFT) phase of one of
the FFT peaks of the microwire transmission signal. This technique is not dependent of the
signal amplitude and also eludes the requisite of tracking the wavelength evolution in the
spectrum, which can be a handicap when there are multiple interference frequency ...This work was supported in part

Validation of a Quick Flow Cytometry-Based Assay for Acute Infection Based on CD64 and CD169 Expression. New Tools for Early Diagnosis in COVID-19 Pandemic
Objectives: Several parameters aid in deciphering between viral and bacterial infections; however, new tools should be investigated in order to reduce the time to results and proceed with an early target-therapy. Validation of a biomarker study, including CD64 and CD169 expression, was conducted. Material and Methods: Patients with active SARS-CoV-2 infection (ACov-2), bacterial infection (ABI), healthy controls, and antiretroviral-controlled chronic HIV infection were assessed. Whole blood was stained and, after lysing no-wash protocol, acquired by flow cytometry. The median fluorescence intensity (MFI) of CD64 and CD169 was measured in granulocytes, monocytes, and lymphocytes. The CD64 MFI ratio granulocytes to lymphocytes (CD64N) and CD169 MFI ratio monocytes to lymphocytes (CD169Mo) were evaluated as biomarkers of acute bacterial and viral infection, respectively. Results: A CD64N ratio higher than 3.3 identified patients with ABI with 83.3 and 85.9% sensitivity and specificity, with an area under the curve (AUC) of 83.5%. In contrast, other analytic or hematological parameters used in the clinic had lower AUC compared with the CD64N ratio. Moreover, a CD169Mo ratio higher than 3.3 was able to identify ACov-2 with 91.7 and 89.8 sensitivity and specificity, with the highest AUC (92.0%). Conclusion: This work confirms the previous data of CD64N and CD169Mo ratios in an independent cohort, including controlled chronic viral HIV infection patients as biomarkers of acute bacterial and viral infections, respectively. Such an approach would benefit from quick pathogen identification for a direct-therapy with a clear application in different Health Care Units, especially during this COVID pandemic. This work was partially supported by Instituto de Salud Carlos III Grant: FIS (COV20/0170

Prevalence and Associated Factors of Low Bone Mineral Density in the Femoral Neck and Total Hip in Axial Spondyloarthritis: Data from the CASTRO Cohort
Studies on osteoporosis in axial spondyloarthritis (axSpA) have focused on the lumbar segment, and few studies have assessed bone mineral density (BMD) in the hip and femoral neck in these patients. The aim of this study was to evaluate the prevalence of low BMD and osteopenia in the total hip or femoral neck and the factors associated with these conditions in axSpA patients. This was a single-centre, observational, cross-sectional study among consecutive patients with axSpA according to the ASAS criteria from the CASTRO registry. All patients underwent total hip and femoral neck DXA BMD measurements. Low BMD was defined as a Z-score less than −1, and osteopenia was defined as a T-score less than −1. Multivariate logistic and generalised linear regressions were used to evaluate factors independently associated with low BMD and osteopenia in the hip or femoral neck and those associated with variability in BMD, respectively. A total of 117 patients were included, among which 30.8% were female and the mean age was 45 years. A total of 36.0% of patients had low BMD (28.1% in the total hip and 27.4% in the femoral neck), and 56.0% of patients had osteopenia (44.7% in the total hip and 53.8% in the femoral neck). A multivariate logistic regression showed that age, radiographic sacroiliitis and ASAS-HI were independently associated with low BMD in the total hip or femoral neck. Factors that were independently associated with osteopenia were Body Mass Index, disease duration, radiographic sacroiliitis and ASAS-HI. In conclusion, 36% of the patients with axSpA had low BMD in the total hip or femoral neck. A younger age and radiographic sacroiliitis were the most important factors associated with decreased BMD
Demonstration of paternal and maternal affection: Adolescent experience
The aim of this study was to describe the experience of male and female adolescents from 15
to 18 years old, who live in the state of Zacatecas, regarding the demonstration of paternal and
maternal affection. 80 adolescents who were chosen by a quota sampling, school years (middle
and high school), and gender were asked two questions. How does your mom show you affection?
and how does your dad show you affection? The answers were subjected to content analysis. The
findings for males showed that the most common categories of affection from their mother were:
physical expression of affection, verbal affection, care and protection and material expression of
affection. On the other hand, affection categories from their fathers were material expression of
affection, spending time with them and physical expression of affection. For teenage girls, the most
common categories from their mother’s affection were: physical expression of affection, verbal
expression of affection and care and protection. And from their fathers were: physical expression of
affection, verbal expression of affection, and no signs of affection.
Study of maternal nutrition and genetic on the foetal adiposity programming (The PREOBE Study)
consecuencias a largo plazo.
madres con intolerancia a la glucosa/diabetes gestacional;
actividad física; 4) antropometría y composición corporal;
5) estudio hematológico; 6) estudio bioquímico (biomarcadores
lipídicos y metabólicos); 7) perfil inmunológico;
Background: Maternal genetics and feeding before and

Impact of Biological Agents on Postsurgical Complications in Inflammatory Bowel Disease : A Multicentre Study of Geteccu
Background: The impact of biologics on the risk of postoperative complications (PC) in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is still an ongoing debate. This lack of evidence is more relevant for ustekinumab and vedolizumab. Aims: To evaluate the impact of biologics on the risk of PC. Methods: A retrospective study was performed in 37 centres. Patients treated with biologics within 12 weeks before surgery were considered "exposed". The impact of the exposure on the risk of 30-day PC and the risk of infections was assessed by logistic regression and propensity score-matched analysis. Results: A total of 1535 surgeries were performed on 1370 patients. Of them, 711 surgeries were conducted in the exposed cohort (584 anti-TNF, 58 vedolizumab and 69 ustekinumab). In the multivariate analysis, male gender (OR: 1.5; 95% CI: 1.2-2.0), urgent surgery (OR: 1.6; 95% CI: 1.2-2.2), laparotomy approach (OR: 1.5; 95% CI: 1.1-1.9) and severe anaemia (OR: 1.8; 95% CI: 1.3-2.6) had higher risk of PC, while academic hospitals had significantly lower risk. Exposure to biologics (either anti-TNF, vedolizumab or ustekinumab) did not increase the risk of PC (OR: 1.2; 95% CI: 0.97-1.58), although it could be a risk factor for postoperative infections (OR 1.5; 95% CI: 1.03-2.27). Conclusions: Preoperative administration of biologics does not seem to be a risk factor for overall PC, although it may be so for postoperative infections
