Рассмотрена возможность использования данных конструкций и узлов для современной строительной практики.=The church of Saints Kozma and Demyan was erected at the beginning of the nineteenth cen-tury in the village of Gorodok, Glussky district, Mogilev region. The church is not only a mon-ument of wooden architecture with the use of elements of classicism of republican signifi-cance, but also contains a number of constructive solutions that are interesting and relevant for modern building practice as well. The article describes the structural and technological features of various wooden elements of the temple, as well as structural solutions for the attachment joints of individual building structures. The possibility of using these structures and joints for modern construction practice is considered

New 4-aryl-1,3,2-oxathiazolylium-5-olates: chemical synthesis and photochemical stability of a novel series of S-nitrosothiols

S-nitrosothiols (RSNOs) remain one of the most popular classes of NO-donating compounds due to their ability to release nitric oxide (NO) under non-enzymatic means whilst producing an inert disulphide byproduct. However, alligning these compounds to the different biological fields of NO research has proved to be problematic due to the inherent instability of such compounds under a variety of conditions including heat, light and the presence of copper ions. 1,3,2-Oxathiazolylium-5-olates (OZOs) represent an interesting subclass of S-nitrosothiols that lock the –SNO moiety into a five membered heterocyclic ring in an attempt to improve the compound’s overall stability. The synthesis of a novel series of halogen-containing OZOs was comprehensively studied resulting in a seven-step route and overall yields ranging between 21 and 37%. The photochemical stability of these compounds was assessed to determine if Snitrosothiols locked within these mesoionic ring systems can offer greater stability and thereby release NO in a more controllable fashion than their non-cyclic counterparts

Automated door systems -- part 1

A reduction in product cost through implementation of more economical materials and a reduction in process steps in the fabrication of an automated door system is the primary motive for a MQP in conjunction with Stanley Works, Inc. Stanley has also expressed a desire for color-through materials due to their intrinsic capability to undergo less cosmetic deterioration when deformed when compared to surface paints used on existing aluminum parts. After reviewing available alternates, several varieties of plastics were procured and evaluated for their capacity to meet and exceed the established minimum physical specifications. Component redesign in Pro/Engineer and finite element analysis enabled a theoretical prediction of performance under load in conjunction with experimental results. These results factored with economic considerations of material and process costs provided insights for the best, suited alternative to aluminum for this application

Subordination of non-arm’s length creditors’ claims: at a crossroads

    No full text
In several European countries and the US, corporate and insolvency law principles allow the courts to subordinate the claims of non-arm’s length creditors (i.e., affiliates, shareholders, controlling persons, officers, etc.) of an insolvent entity. However, there is no universal approach across the above jurisdictions. Instead, the scholars observe a whole range of subordination regimes. Each of them derives from a unique and unsteady balance between the interests and values protected by law. This paper examines the Russian subordination rules and their evolution and discusses the values and incentives behind the subordination of non-arm’s length creditors claims in search for an optimal approach
