Review on Security Aspects for Cloud Architecture
Cloud computing is one of the fastest growing and popular technology in the field of computing. As the concept of cloud computing was introduced in 2006. Since then large number of IT industries join the queue to develop many cloud services and put sensitive information over cloud. In fact cloud computing is no doubt the great innovation in the field of computing but at the same time also poses many challenges. Since a large number of organizations migrate their business to cloud and hence it appears as an attractive target for the malicious attack. The purpose of the paper is to review the available literature for security concerns and highlight a relationship between vulnerabilities, attacks and threats in SaaS model. A mapping is being presented to highlight the impact of vulnerabilities and attacks
Biofilm-stimulated epithelium modulates the inflammatory responses in co-cultured immune cells
The gingival epithelium is a physical and immunological barrier to the microbiota of the oral cavity, which interact through soluble mediators with the immune cells that patrol the tissue at the gingival epithelium. We sought to develop a three-dimensional gingivae-biofilm interface model using a commercially available gingival epithelium to study the tissue inflammatory response to oral biofilms associated with âhealthâ, âgingivitisâ and âperiodontitisâ. These biofilms were developed by sequential addition of microorganisms to mimic the formation of supra- and sub-gingival plaque in vivo. Secondly, to mimic the interactions between gingival epithelium and immune cells in vivo, we integrated peripheral blood mononuclear cells and CD14+ monocytes into our three-dimensional model and were able to assess the inflammatory response in the immune cells cultured with and without gingival epithelium. We describe a differential inflammatory response in immune cells cultured with epithelial tissue, and more so following incubation with epithelium stimulated by âgingivitis-associatedâ biofilm. These results suggest that gingival epithelium-derived soluble mediators may control the inflammatory status of immune cells in vitro, and therefore targeting of the epithelial response may offer novel therapies. This multi-cellular interface model, both of microbial and host origin, offers a robust in vitro platform to investigate host-pathogens at the epithelial surface
Abrasion Induced Volume Loss in Porcine Teeth Measured Using X-Ray Microtomography
Teeth are complex biological structures consisting primarily of enamel and dentin. The mechanical loading of teeth due to the action of brushing provides a complex interaction between applied forces and the biological structure, resulting in volume loss of dental tissue. The volume loss as a resulting of using an ex situ brushing of teeth was measured using x-ray microcomputed tomography (XCT) and corresponding image analyses. Three-dimension reconstructions of teeth reveal a considerably loss of dentin at a rate of over 30 times that of enamel during brushing, as would be expected by the consideration of the corresponding structures. The approach here is flexible and can be applied to a range of brushing, teeth, and environmental conditions

Effects of Blood Products on Inflammatory Response in Endothelial Cells In Vitro
BACKGROUND: Transfusing blood products may induce inflammatory reactions within the vascular compartment potentially leading to a systemic inflammatory response. Experiments were designed to assess the inflammatory potential of different blood products in an endothelial cell-based in vitro model and to compare baseline levels of potentially activating substances in transfusion products.
METHODS: The inflammatory response from pre-activated (endotoxin-stimulated) and non-activated endothelial cells as well as neutrophil endothelial transmigration in response to packed red blood cells (PRBC), platelet concentrates (PC) and fresh frozen plasma (FFP) was determined. Baseline inflammatory mediator and lipid concentrations in blood products were evaluated.
RESULTS: Following incubation with all blood products, an increased inflammatory mediator release from endothelial cells was observed. Platelet concentrates, and to a lesser extent also FFP, caused the most pronounced response, which was accentuated in already pre-stimulated endothelial cells. Inflammatory response of endothelial cells as well as blood product-induced migration of neutrophils through the endothelium was in good agreement with the lipid content of the according blood product.
CONCLUSION: Within the group of different blood transfusion products both PC and FFP have a high inflammatory potential with regard to activation of endothelial cells. Inflammation upon blood product exposure is strongly accentuated when endothelial cells are pre-injured. High lipid contents in the respective blood products goes along with an accentuated inflammatory reaction from endothelial cells
MHC class Iâspecific antibody binding to nonhematopoietic cells drives complement activation to induce transfusion-related acute lung injury in mice
In a manner partially independent of activating FcÎł receptors, antibody-mediated production of complement component C5a and recruitment of macrophages elicit transfusion-related acute lung injury in mice
Vampires in the village Ćœrnovo on the island of KorÄula: following an archival document from the 18th century
The main interest of this essay is the analysis of the document from the State Archive in Venice (file: Capi del Consiglio deâ Dieci: Lettere di Rettori e di altre cariche) which is connected with the episode from 1748 when the inhabitants of the village Ćœrnove on the island of KorÄula in Croatia opened tombs on the local cemetery in the fear of the vampires treating.
This essay try to show some social circumstances connected with this event as well as a local vernacular tradition concerning superstitions
Contribution of viruses to cancer and its global burden
Cancer is the one of most leading cause of death and fast growing disease with increase its global burden due to cancer causing behavior particularly smoking, drinking alcohol coal mining worker, consumption of non-organic foods, uses of non-food grad utensils and uses of food additives. About 13.5 million case of cancer have been reported worldwide in which 7.8 million deaths occur. Out of 7.8 million mortality rate 73% death cases have been reported in poor or middle socio-economic countries. Where population are unaware, poor sanitation and lack of hygiene. Cancer is the most sever and life threatening disease which cause millions of death worldwide.</p
