Celem pracy było przedstawienie świata zabaw i zabawek dziecięcych XIX w., opisywanego na łamach „Kroniki Rodzinnej" - jednego z najdłużej ukazujących się czasopism zaboru rosyjskiego. Artykuły publikowane na łamach pisma stanowiły apel o dostrzeżenie ważności zabawy i zabawek dziecięcych w rozwoju i wychowaniu dziecka, o dostosowanie przedmiotów zabawy, aby służyły do należytego przygotowania do pełnienia odpowiednich ról społecznych oraz o pokazanie edukacyjnej roli zabaw.Udostępnienie publikacji Wydawnictwa Uniwersytetu Łódzkiego finansowane w ramach projektu „Doskonałość naukowa kluczem do doskonałości kształcenia”. Biografia rzeczy jako metoda badań nad zabawką dziecięcą

The article attempts to use the biography of things in order to carry out research on children’s toy. The aim of the text is to show the possibility of using certain elements of the biography of things in historical and pedagogical research on a child’s toy. This issue is important because it makes it possible to look at a toy from a different perspective – as a thing (material object), which, until now, in the research has served as a text that has been analyzed in accordance with the assumptions of constructivism. The main purpose of this approach was the reconstruction of children’s toys and plays in various historical periods. Using the method of the biography of things in the research shall make it possible to present the linear life sequence of a toy - from its inception, through being in the child’s hand, the time of hibernation, until time when the toy returns to life. The text shows an example of the life of the Szrajerka doll in the so-called long period of duration. The author presents the way of producing the object, its purpose, market (the first life of the toy), time of hibernation and the second life of Szrajerka as a museum exhibit, a part of a private collection, or a toy in the hands of a child. The latter option restores the basic function of the doll – a ludic function.W artykule podjęto próbę wykorzystania metody biografii rzeczy do badań nad zabawką dziecięcą. Celem tekstu jest pokazanie możliwości zastosowania wybranych elementów biografii rzeczy w badaniach historyczno-pedagogicznych nad zabawką dziecięcą. Kwestia ta jest istotna, ponieważ polega na spojrzeniu z innej perspektywy na ową rzecz (przedmiot materialny), która do tej pory w badaniach pełniła rolę tekstu poddawanego analizie zgodnie z założeniami konstruktywizmu. Głównym celem takiego podejścia była rekonstrukcja zabawek i zabaw dziecięcych w różnych okresach historycznych. Wprowadzenie do badań biografii rzeczy pozwoli pokazać linearny ciąg życia zabawki – od jej powstania, poprzez przebywanie w ręku dziecka, czas hibernacji, do jej powrotu do życia. W tekście pokazano przykładowe życie lalki „szrajerki” w tzw. długim trwaniu. Przedstawiono sposób wyrobu przedmiotu, jego cel, rynek zbytu (pierwsze życie zabawki), czas hibernacji oraz drugie życie „szrajerki” jako eksponatu muzealnego, części kolekcji prywatnej i zabawki w ręku dziecka. Ta ostatnia opcja przywraca podstawową funkcję lalki – funkcję ludyczną

The Culture-Forming Role of the Rural School with the Example of the Activity of the Elementary School in Łopienno, 1918–1939 (Selected Problems)

After Poland regained independence in 1918, the transformation and unification of all levels of education became a very important issue. The activity of rural schools in the interwar period influenced not only the educational sphere but also the manifestations of socio-cultural activity. The aim of the article is to show the diversity of forms of activity for the benefit of communities run by the Elementary School in Łopienno: organizing celebrations of anniversaries of important historical, political and religious events, organizing evening, training, courses, talks and lectures, teacher involvement in the activities of various local societies and organizations.Po odzyskaniu przez Polskę niepodległości w 1918 r. bardzo ważną kwestią było przekształcenie i ujednolicenie wszystkich szczebli szkolnictwa. Family Relations as Described in Selected Dailies Published in Wielkopolska in the Second Half of the 19th Century

Daily press in Wielkopolska in the 2nd half of the 19th c. played major social and educational roles. It can therefore be a precious source of information on the social relations of the time, including family relations. The text aims to analyze family relations as presented in selected dailies published in Wielkopolska. Addressed are marital relations, those between mother and child, father and child and press information on the death of a child. Moreover, the author indicates that daily press provided information about actual family ties and furnished models of good parenthood.3529732516Studia Edukacyjn

The Peasant Child in Sacred Time – the Educational Contexts (From the Middle Ages Until the Present)

The article presents important historical and pedagogical issues. The study analyses the functioning of the peasant child during sacred time to show the impact of this time on the child’s upbringing. It specifi cally underlines the importance of participation in the communal ritualised handling of holidays in the rites of both the Church calendar and nature, which impacts the traditional standards of conduct in certain situations. Apart from providing a sense of security and belonging, the rituals prepared the child for participation in culture. The analysis included aspects such as pilgrimages, participation in Holy Masses and, more broadly, in the life of the parish, including parish schools which have been an important part of socialization in the rural society. The authors show that participating in sacred time infl uenced the existence of the peasant child also in secular time and was a good opportunity for personal development

Wydawcy i redaktorzy czasopism katolickich dla dzieci i młodzieży w latach 1864–1914

Prasa religijna wieku XIX stanowi podstawę źródłową do badań nad polską kulturą religijną i narodową okresu niewoli. Odegrała ona wówczas dużą rolę w uświadamianiu społeczeństwa polskiego w wielu istotnych kwestiach. Czasopisma religijne były albo ściśle religijne, albo też poruszały tematykę świecką ustosunkowując się do niej. Szczególną wagę należy przykładać, z uwagi na dominację w polskim społeczeństwie wyznania katolickiego, właśnie do czasopism z tego kręgu. A Dream Christmas Gift. On Christimas Toys in Children’s Literature and Magazines of the 2nd Half of the 19th c. and the Early 20th c.

Timeless attributes of children’s games, i.e. toys, have been made the subject of research. The authors focus on the toys received by children from Polish families during Christmas. The aim of these analyses is therefore to characterise Christmas children’s toys presented in two types of sources intentionally addressed to children: children’s literature and press. The research covers the second half of the 19th century and the beginning of the following century. The article in its subject matter refers to the Authors’ earlier research on Christmas toys and is in line with the ever developing trend of research on toys from the historical and pedagogical perspective
