Measurement of and charged current inclusive cross sections and their ratio with the T2K off-axis near detector
We report a measurement of cross section and the first measurements of the cross section
and their ratio
at (anti-)neutrino energies below 1.5
GeV. We determine the single momentum bin cross section measurements, averaged
over the T2K -flux, for the detector target material (mainly
Carbon, Oxygen, Hydrogen and Copper) with phase space restricted laboratory
frame kinematics of 500 MeV/c. The
results are and $\sigma(\nu)=\left( 2.41\
\pm0.022{\rm{(stat.)}}\pm0.231{\rm (syst.)}\ \right)\times10^{-39}^{2}R\left(\frac{\sigma(\bar{\nu})}{\sigma(\nu)}\right)=
0.373\pm0.012{\rm (stat.)}\pm0.015{\rm (syst.)}$.Comment: 18 pages, 8 figure
Search for Lorentz and CPT violation using sidereal time dependence of neutrino flavor transitions over a short baseline
A class of extensions of the Standard Model allows Lorentz and CPT violations, which can be identified
by the observation of sidereal modulations in the neutrino interaction rate. A search for such modulations
was performed using the T2K on-axis near detector. Two complementary methods were used in this study,
both of which resulted in no evidence of a signal. Limits on associated Lorentz and CPT-violating terms
from the Standard Model extension have been derived by taking into account their correlations in this
model for the first time. These results imply such symmetry violations are suppressed by a factor of more
than 10 20 at the GeV scale
Measurement of the charged-current cross sections on water, hydrocarbon, iron, and their ratios with the T2K on-axis detectors
We report a measurement of the flux-integrated charged-current cross sections on water, hydrocarbon, and iron in the T2K on-axis neutrino beam with a mean neutrino energy of 1.5 GeV. The measured cross sections on water, hydrocarbon, and iron are = (0.840(stat.)(syst.))10cm/nucleon, = (0.817(stat.)(syst.))10cm/nucleon, and = (0.859(stat.) (syst.))10cm/nucleon respectively, for a restricted phase space of induced muons: and 0.4 GeV/ in the laboratory frame. The measured cross section ratios are = 1.028(stat.)(syst.), = 1.023(stat.)(syst.), and = 1.049(stat.)(syst.). These results, with an unprecedented precision for the measurements of neutrino cross sections on water in the studied energy region, show good agreement with the current neutrino interaction models used in the T2K oscillation analyses
Beneficial effects of biochar to contaminated soils on the bioavailability of Cd, Pb and Zn and the biomass production of rapeseed (Brassica napus L.).
The observation of the recent electron neutrino appearance in a muon neutrino
beam and the high-precision measurement of the mixing angle have
led to a re-evaluation of the physics potential of the T2K long-baseline
neutrino oscillation experiment. Sensitivities are explored for CP violation in
neutrinos, non-maximal , the octant of , and
the mass hierarchy, in addition to the measurements of ,
, and , for various combinations of
-mode and -mode data-taking.
With an exposure of ~protons-on-target, T2K can achieve
1- resolution of 0.050(0.054) on and
on for 100\%(50\%)
neutrino beam mode running assuming and eV. T2K will have sensitivity to the
CP-violating phase at 90\% C.L. or better over a significant
range. For example, if is maximal (i.e
=) the range is
for normal hierarchy and for inverted
hierarchy. When T2K data is combined with data from the NOA experiment,
the region of oscillation parameter space where there is sensitivity to observe
a non-zero is substantially increased compared to if each
experiment is analyzed alone.Comment: 40 pages, 27 figures, accepted by PTE
Measurement of the charged-current electron (anti-)neutrino inclusive cross-sections at the T2K off-axis near detector ND280
The electron (anti-)neutrino component of the T2K neutrino beam constitutes the largest background in the measurement of electron (anti-)neutrino appearance at the far detector. The electron neutrino scattering is measured directly with the T2K off-axis near detector, ND280. The selection of the electron (anti-)neutrino events in the plastic scintillator target from both neutrino and anti-neutrino mode beams is discussed in this paper. The flux integrated single differential charged-current inclusive electron (anti-)neutrino cross-sections, dσ/dp and dσ/d cos(θ), and the total cross-sections in a limited phase-space in momentum and scattering angle (p > 300 MeV/c and θ ≤ 45°) are measured using a binned maximum likelihood fit and compared to the neutrino Monte Carlo generator predictions, resulting in good agreement
T2K ND280 Upgrade - Technical Design Report
In this document, we present the Technical Design Report of the Upgrade of the T2K Near Detector ND280. The goal of this upgrade is to improve the Near Detector performance to measure the neutrino interaction rate and to constrain the neutrino interaction cross-sections so that the uncertainty in the number of predicted events at Super-Kamiokande is reduced to about 4%. This will allow to improve the physics reach of the T2K-II project. This goal is achieved by modifying the upstream part of the detector, adding a new highly granular scintillator detector (Super-FGD), two new TPCs (High-Angle TPC) and six TOF planes. Details about the detector concepts, design and construction methods are presented, as well as a first look at the test-beam data taken in Summer 2018. An update of the physics studies is also presented
