Influence of Intra-cell Traffic on the Output Power of Base Station in GSM
In this paper we analyze the influence of intracell traffic in a GSM cell on the base station output power. It is proved that intracell traffic increases this power. If offered traffic is small, the increase of output power is equal to the part of intracell traffic. When the offered traffic and, as the result, call loss increase, the increase of output power becomes less. The results of calculation are verified by the computer simulation of traffic process in the GSM cell. The calculation and the simulation consider the uniform distribution of mobile users in the cell, but the conclusions are of a general nature
Mineral profile of the winter wheat grain: effects of soil tillage systems and nitrogen fertilization
The aim of this study was to analyze the impact of various systems of soil tillage and nitrogen doses on the mineral composition of the grain of the common winter wheat cultivar (Triticum aestivum ssp. vulgare), cv. Azra selected for the conventional intensive production. The field experiment was conducted on luvic chernozem in completely randomized blocks. Wheat was grown under three soil tillage systems: conventional tillage, mulch tillage and no -tillage, and the experiment included two doses of N fertilization (60 and 120 kg ha(-1)). Concentrations of eighteen elements (As, Al, Ba, Ca, Co, Cr, Cu, Fe, Hg, K, Mg, Mn, Ni, S, Sr, P, V and Zn) in wheat grain samples were determined by means of inductively coupled plasma with optical emission spectrometry (ICP OES). The results indicated that concentrations of the studied elements in the wheat grain were significantly affected by the tillage systems and fertilization rates (p lt 0.001), as well as by the interaction of these two factors. A smaller dose of nitrogen fertilizer (60 kg ha(-1)) had a significantly better impact on the concentration of macro- and microelements in the wheat grain than the dose of 120 kg N ha(-1). The reduced tillage systems and lower nitrogen rates in nutrition had a better effect on the increase of the content of the studied elements in the wheat grain than the conventional cultivation which applied higher nitrogen rates
Spectroscopy and spectropolarimetry of AGN: from observations to modelling
Active galactic nuclei (AGN) are one of the most luminous objects in the
Universe, emitting powerful continuum and line emission across all wavelength
bands. They represent an important link in the investigations of the galaxy
evolution and cosmology. The resolving of the AGN inner structure is still a
difficult task with current instruments, therefore the spectroscopy and
spectropolarimetry are crucial tools to investigate these objects and their
components, such as the properties of the supermassive black hole, the broad
line region, and the dusty torus. In this review, we present the results of the
project "Astrophysical spectroscopy of extragalactic objects", from the
observations, data processing and analysis, to the modelling of different
regions in AGN.Comment: Proceedings of the Serbian Astronomical Conference 201
Instability, Intermixing and Electronic Structure at the Epitaxial LaAlO3/SrTiO3(001) Heterojunction
The question of stability against diffusional mixing at the prototypical
LaAlO3/SrTiO3(001) interface is explored using a multi-faceted experimental and
theoretical approach. We combine analytical methods with a range of
sensitivities to elemental concentrations and spatial separations to
investigate interfaces grown using on-axis pulsed laser deposition. We also
employ computational modeling based on the density function theory as well as
classical force fields to explore the energetic stability of a wide variety of
intermixed atomic configurations relative to the idealized, atomically abrupt
model. Statistical analysis of the calculated energies for the various
configurations is used to elucidate the relative thermodynamic stability of
intermixed and abrupt configurations. We find that on both experimental and
theoretical fronts, the tendency toward intermixing is very strong. We have
also measured and calculated key electronic properties such as the presence of
electric fields and the value of the valence band discontinuity at the
interface. We find no measurable electric field in either the LaAlO3 or SrTiO3,
and that the valence band offset is near zero, partitioning the band
discontinuity almost entirely to the conduction band edge. Moreover, we find
that it is not possible to account for these electronic properties
theoretically without including extensive intermixing in our physical model of
the interface. The atomic configurations which give the greatest electrostatic
stability are those that eliminate the interface dipole by intermixing, calling
into question the conventional explanation for conductivity at this interface -
electronic reconstruction. Rather, evidence is presented for La indiffusion and
doping of the SrTiO3 below the interface as being the cause of the observed
conductivity
Application of Energy Performance Indicators for Residential Building Stocks:Experiences of the EPISCOPE project
VizieR Online Data Catalog: NGC 5548 43 year-long monitoring in Hβ (Bon+, 2016)
We analyzed 1600 spectra of NGC 5548 in the Hβ spectral interval, covering 43 years. We used: (a) archival spectra obtained by K.K. Chuvaev from 1972-1988 (Sergeev+ 2007ApJ...668..708S) prior to the International AGN Watch (IAW) campaigns. These early spectra were recorded on photographic plates acquired with an image tube at the 2.6m Shajn Telescope of the Crimean Astrophysical Observatory. (b) The 13 year study (from 1988 to 2002) of the IAW program (Peterson+ 2002ApJ...581..197P), which provided 1530 optical continuum measurements and 1248 Hβ measurements. (c) A spectral monitoring program with the 6 and 1m telescopes of the Special Astrophysical Observatory (SAO) in Russia from 1996 to 2002, and the 2.1m telescope of Guillermo Haro Observatory (GHO) in Cananea, Mexico, from 1996 to 2003 (S04; Shapovalova+ 2004, J/A+A/422/925). (d) More recent, unpublished observations of the same program covering 2003-2013 observed at SAO (see Table 1), and a continuation of the monitoring campaign presented in S04. (e) Spectra from the new IAW campaign obtained at Asiago observatory in 2012, 2013, and 2015. (f) New unpublished observations from 2013 from the Asiago observatory (also given in Table 1). See section 2 for further details. (2 data files)
Expected Performance of the ATLAS Experiment - Detector, Trigger and Physics
A detailed study is presented of the expected performance of the ATLAS
detector. The reconstruction of tracks, leptons, photons, missing energy and
jets is investigated, together with the performance of b-tagging and the
trigger. The physics potential for a variety of interesting physics processes,
within the Standard Model and beyond, is examined. The study comprises a series
of notes based on simulations of the detector and physics processes, with
particular emphasis given to the data expected from the first years of
operation of the LHC at CERN
Impact of renal impairment on atrial fibrillation: ESC-EHRA EORP-AF Long-Term General Registry
Background: Atrial fibrillation (AF) and renal impairment share a bidirectional relationship with important pathophysiological interactions. We evaluated the impact of renal impairment in a contemporary cohort of patients with AF. Methods: We utilised the ESC-EHRA EORP-AF Long-Term General Registry. Outcomes were analysed according to renal function by CKD-EPI equation. The primary endpoint was a composite of thromboembolism, major bleeding, acute coronary syndrome and all-cause death. Secondary endpoints were each of these separately including ischaemic stroke, haemorrhagic event, intracranial haemorrhage, cardiovascular death and hospital admission. Results: A total of 9306 patients were included. The distribution of patients with no, mild, moderate and severe renal impairment at baseline were 16.9%, 49.3%, 30% and 3.8%, respectively. AF patients with impaired renal function were older, more likely to be females, had worse cardiac imaging parameters and multiple comorbidities. Among patients with an indication for anticoagulation, prescription of these agents was reduced in those with severe renal impairment, p <.001. Over 24 months, impaired renal function was associated with significantly greater incidence of the primary composite outcome and all secondary outcomes. Multivariable Cox regression analysis demonstrated an inverse relationship between eGFR and the primary outcome (HR 1.07 [95% CI, 1.01–1.14] per 10 ml/min/1.73 m2 decrease), that was most notable in patients with eGFR <30 ml/min/1.73 m2 (HR 2.21 [95% CI, 1.23–3.99] compared to eGFR ≥90 ml/min/1.73 m2). Conclusion: A significant proportion of patients with AF suffer from concomitant renal impairment which impacts their overall management. Furthermore, renal impairment is an independent predictor of major adverse events including thromboembolism, major bleeding, acute coronary syndrome and all-cause death in patients with AF
