    Fungos ectomicorrízicos em plantações de nogueira-pecã e o potencial da truficultura no Brasil

    Studies involving pecan tree have evolved considerably in recent years in Brazil. Pecans were introduced in the country at the beginning of the last century, and became commercially important after the 1960´s, primarily in the South region. Pecan trees form several ECM associations with mutualistic fungi. Thus, the aims of the present review were to show research data using ECM fungi in commercial pecan orchards in Brazil, present the agricultural and environmental importance of this symbiosis, and show the potentialof man-driven mycorrhyzation with pecan, aiming at the production of selected truffles, notably of the genus Tuber, in commercial orchards, a highly profitable economic activity.Os estudos envolvendo a nogueira-pecã têm evoluído consideravelmente nos últimos anos no Brasil. Esta cultura foi introduzida no país no início do século passado e tornou-se importante comercialmente após os anos de 1960, principalmente na região sul. A nogueira-pecã é comprovadamente um simbionte, formando diversas associações mutualísticas com fungos ectomicorrízicos do solo. Assim, a presente revisão tem como objetivos apresentar os estudos sobre os fungos ectomicorrízicos em plantações comerciais de nogueirapecã no Brasil, destacar a importância agrícola e ambiental desta simbiose, e o potencial da micorrização controlada da nogueira-pecã, visando à produção de espécies desejadas de trufas, notadamente do gênero Tuber, em pomares comerciais, uma atividade econômica de alta rentabilidade

    Storability of 'Tupy' and 'Guarani' blackberries in controlled atmosphere

    AbstrAct: The aim of this work was to compare the storage potential of 'Guarani' and 'Tupy' blackberries in controlled atmosphere (CA) and thereafter to determinate the best CA storage conditions for 'Tupy' blackberries. Two experiments were carried out. In the first one, 'Guarani' and 'Tupy' blackberries were stored in CA condition (10 kPa O 2 + 15 kPa CO 2 ). We found that 'Tupy' blackberry has the best storage potential. Therefore, in the second experiment, several CA conditions were evaluated for 'Tupy' blackberries storage, In CA with 10 kPa O 2 + 15 kPa CO 2 , the juice was lighter (high L), but differed significantly only from those fruit of CS. The best CA condition for 'Tupy' blackberries storage is 5 kPa O 2 with 15 kPa CO 2

    <div><p>ABSTRACT: Given the increasing investment in the pecan production in southern Brazil, it becomes necessary researches, assisting in solve problems and proposition of technical and methodology to enhance this production chain. Thus, the present review aimed to survey the existing information about the culture, both on the world and the Brazilian scene. Issues related to botany, climate and soil requirements, alignment and planting density, cultivars, pests and diseases, among other technical aspects of this culture will be addressed. Pecan nut presents nutraceutical properties that are beneficial to human health, which has increased its demand from consumers. However, there are few research results with pecan nut in Brazil and there are many gaps in scientific knowledge about this culture, especially as regards the management of pests and diseases control, irrigation and nutrition, in Brazilian conditions.</p></div
