This research starts from the undoubted difficulty of analyzing in the young person of thistime, the religious value for his participation in the liberal culture that the educational centersthat bring him closer to scientific rationality provide him, through which he sees and analyzes theman, society and God. Secularization will be his method of contemplating and accepting religion, creating in it a youth culture that frees him in ways, imposed and authoritarian, discovering himselfas the protagonist of his own religious culture. An ex post facto longitudinal research was carriedout over five time periods. The objective was to describe the macrosociological factors involvedin the dynamics and relationships between youth and religiosity. Using a quantitative approach,167 subjects participated in a design of five equivalent groups based on the phenomenologicalexperience of the Conference. It is concluded that the reconfiguration of religiosity proposed inthis study; it takes the young person to a responsibility of himself in a massive and anonymoussociety. It commits you to being a transformer for the good of the youth themselves in a depressivesociety. He projects it into the future to achieve leadership in the destinies of the society in whichhe lives through becoming a complex thought of man-community-religion relations. Giant Osteosclerotic Lesions (GOLs) are a group of rarely reported intraosseous lesions. Their precise diagnosis is important since they can be confused with malignant neoplasms. Objective: This retrospective study aimed to record and analyze the clinical and radiographic Giant Osteosclerotic Lesions (GOLs) detected in the maxillomandibular area of patients attending to our institution. Materials and Methods: Informed consent from the patients was obtained and those cases of 2.5 cm or larger lesions with radiopaque or mixed (radiolucid-radiopaque) appearance located in the maxillofacial bones were selected. Assessed parameters were: age, gender, radiographic aspect, shape, borders, size, location and relations to roots. Lesions were classified as radicular, apical, interradicular, interradicular-apical, radicular-apical or located in a previous teeth extraction area. Additionally, several osseous and dental developmental alterations (DDAs) were assessed. Results: Seventeen radiopacities in 14 patients were found and were located almost exclusively in mandible and were two types: idiopathic osteosclerosis and condensing osteitis. GOLs were more frequent in females, and in the anterior and premolar zones. 94.2% of GOLs were qualified as idiopathic osteosclerosis and one case was condensing osteitis. All studied cases showed different osseous and dental developmental alterations (DDAs). The most common were: Microdontia, hypodontia, pulp stones, macrodontia and variations in the mental foramina. Conclusions: GOLs must be differentiated from other radiopaque benign and malignant tumors. Condensing osteitis, was considered an anomalous osseous response induced by a chronic low-grade inflammatory stimulus. For development of idiopathic osteosclerosis, two possible mechanisms could be related. The first is modification of the normal turnover with excessive osseous deposition. The second mechanism will prevent the normal bone resorption, arresting the osseous breakdown process

This paper presents an analysis of proposals about library building and facilities identified in the electoral programs published by the Political Parties competing in regional elections during the economic crisis in Castilla-La Mancha. The objective was to evaluate how these proposals reflect social and political interest in public libraries. Despite the digital dematerialization of library services in nowadays hybrid environment, the projection of the public library as a service to society requires a physical presentiality that supports its current role as an agora, a place for socio-intellectual exchange and training for its community. This should be translated into a social interest in library spaces that can be tested through its presence in the electoral programs, which reflect the issues that shape the political agenda. The work concludes a trend that prioritizes the reform and continuity of the libraries rather than projects for new libraries. It is also found that the programs have a very traditional view of on-site services

The aim of this study was to record and analyze all DDAs associated to dilacerated teeth in patients attending the clinics of the Postgraduate Division, Facultad de Odontología, UNAM in Mexico City. Orthopantomograms from all patients seeking for stomatological attention in our institution were reviewed and those cases of dilaceration were separated. Age, gender, diagnosis, location, involved teeth and associated DDAs were recorded and analyzed. From 6,340 patients, 99 (1.6%) harbored 125 dilacerated teeth. Of them, 45 (45.5%) showed one or more DDAs. The most frequently detected DDAs were hypodontia, enamel pearls, taurodontism and microdontia. 45.5% is a very high proportion of DDAs in patients with dilacerated roots. Findings from this study strongly suggest that patients with dilacerated teeth should be carefully screened since many of them could present other DDAs. Simultaneous occurrence of dilaceration and DDAs suggests synchronic developmental defects during dental growth

Objective: Recent reports suggest an increase in oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) frequency. To improve programs in public health, it is necessary to understand the epidemiological conditions. The aim of this study was to analyze the trend in gender, age, anatomic zone and OSCC stage from Mexico City's General Hospital patients from 1990 to 2008. Study design: A retrospective review of all OSCC cases diagnosed by the Pathology Department of the Mexico City General Hospital was performed. Demographic data, in addition to anatomic zone and histological degree of differentiation were obtained. Central tendency, dispersion and prevalence rate per 100,000 individuals were determined. Results: A total of 531 patients were diagnosed with OSCC; 58.4% were men, giving a male:female ratio of 1.4:1, and the mean age was 62.5 ± 14.9 years. The predominant anatomic zone was the tongue (44.7%), followed by the lips (21.2%) and gums (20.5%). The most frequent histological degree was moderately differentiated in 325 cases (61.2%). The rates of OSCC prevalence showed similar patterns in terms across time. A significant correlation (P = 0.007) between anatomic zone and age was observed. Conclusion: According to our results, the prevalence of OSCC does not show important variations; however, a relation - ship between age and anatomic zone was observed. These data could be used as parameters for the diagnosis of OSCC as well as for the development and dissemination of preventive programs for the early detection of oral cancer

Genetic deficiency of apolipoprotein D in the mouse is associated with nonfasting hypertriglyceridemia and hyperinsulinemia

Producción CientíficaApolipoprotein D (ApoD) is an atypical apolipoprotein with an incompletely understood function in the regulation of triglyceride and glucose metabolism. We have demonstrated that elevated ApoD production in mice results in improved postprandial triglyceride clearance. This work studies the role of ApoD deficiency in the regulation of triglyceride and glucose metabolism and its dependence on aging. We used ApoD knockout (ApoD-KO) mice of 3 and 21 months of age. Body weight and food intake were measured. Hepatic histology, triglyceride content, lipoprotein lipase levels, and plasma metabolites were studied. Phenotypic characterization of glucose metabolism was performed using glucose tolerance test. β-Cell mass, islet volume, and islet number were analyzed by histomorphometry. Apolipoprotein D deficiency results in nonfasting hypertriglyceridemia in young (P = .01) and aged mice (P = .002). In young ApoD-KO mice, hypertriglyceridemiawas associated with 30% to 50% increased food intake in nonfasting and fasting conditions, respectively, without changes in body weight. In addition, lipoprotein lipase levels were reduced by 35% in adipose tissue (P = .006). In aged ApoD-KO mice, hypertriglyceridemia was not associated with changes in food intake or body weight, whereas hepatic triglyceride levels were reduced by 35% (P = .02). Furthermore, nonfasting plasma insulin levels were elevated by 2-fold in young (P = .016) and aged (P = .004) ApoD-KO mice, without changes in blood glucose levels, glucose tolerance, β-cell mass, or islet number. These findings underscore the importance of ApoD in the regulation of plasma insulin levels and triglyceride metabolism, suggesting that ApoD plays an important role in the pathogenesis of dyslipidemia

Spatio-temporal variations in the partial pressure of CO2 (pCO(2)) were studied during eight oceanographic cruises conducted between March 2014 and February 2016 in surface waters of the eastern shelf of the Gulf of Cadiz (SW Iberian Peninsula) between the Guadalquivir river and Cape Trafalgar. pCO(2) presents a range of variation between 320.6 and 513.6 mu atm with highest values during summer and autumn and lowest during spring and winter. For the whole study, pCO(2) shows a linear dependence with temperature, and spatially there is a general decrease from coastal to offshore stations associated with continental inputs and an increase in the zones deeper than 400 m related to the influence of the eastward branch of the Azores Current. The study area acts as a source of CO2 to the atmosphere during summer and autumn and as a sink in spring and winter with a mean value for the study period of -0.18 +/- 1.32 mmol M-2 d(-1). In the Guadalquivir and Sancti Petri transects, the CO2 fluxes decrease towards offshore, whereas in the Trafalgar transect fluxes increase due to the presence of an upwelling. The annual uptake capacity of CO2 in the Gulf of Cadiz is 4.1 Gg C yr(-1)

To assess the relevance of the Public Library System in the political agenda, programmes presented by the Political Parties competing in Regional and Local elections in the Spanish Region of Castilla-La Mancha were analysed and the proposals about these library institutions were identified. All Regional programmes were collected and also an ample sample from the Municipalities for the 2007 and 2015 elections; trying to find the differences influenced by the impact of the financial crisis and recession on the public-library policies. The conclusion arrived at was that, although the Public Libraries may be reasonabily present in the studied programmes, there is a low awareness by the Political Parties of the main problems
