    A STUDY OF INVESTMENT BEHAVIOUR OF HOUSEHOLDS WITH REFERENCE TO NAGPUR CITY

    The research will examine the various investment instruments preferred by households, the factors influencing investment decisions, and the level of financial literacy among households in Nagpur. Investment had its indirect repercussions. The study focuses on the various sources and the extent of income of the different groups of the households and on the attitude of the households on the various investments they have at their disposal. The Chi-square test and analysis are used to evaluate the objectives of the study. The researchers have found out how for the association between the various factors like age, gender, educational qualification, marital status, type of family, size of the family, nature of employment, years of service and the like and the investment pattern is significant. Based on the various findings of the study the researchers have given useful and constructive suggestions. The findings of this research will provide valuable insights into the investment behavior of households in Nagpur and can be used by financial institutions and policy makers to design appropriate investment products and financial literacy programs. The results of this study will also contribute to the larger body of literature on household investment patterns and financial behavior

    Induced chlorophyll mutations in bell pepper (Capsicum annuum L. var. grossum)

    An investigation entitled “Induced chlorophyll mutations in bell pepper (Capsicum annuum L. var. grossum)” was conducted during kharif (summer-rainy season) 2012 and 2013 at Experimental farm of the Department of Vegetable Science and Floriculture, CSK Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidyalaya, Palampur, H.P., India. Healthy seeds of California Wonder of bell pepper were exposed to physical mutagen Gamma rays using 60CO as a source of radiation at Mutation Breeding Centre, Department of Biotechnology, BARC Trombay, Mumbai and chemical mutagen EMS (Ethyl Methane Sulphonate) to obtain the spectrum and frequency of chlorophyll mutations in M2 generation. The M1 generation was produced from these mutagen treated seeds. Several unique and interesting chlorophyll and viable mutants were obtained in M2 generation. In M2 generation, gamma rays induced higher proportion of chlorophyll mutants then EMS. A progressive increase in mutation frequency of chlorophyll mutations was observed with increasing doses/concentrations. Four different types of chlorophyll mutants namely xantha, yellow xantha, chlorina and viridis were induced. Out of these mutants, chlorina and viridis were most frequent and were produced even in lower doses/concentrations while yellow xantha was least frequent and produced only in higher doses. The highest frequency of chlorophyll mutations (18.8 %) was reported in the 22 kR of gamma dose, while the lowest (0.80 %) frequency of chlorophyll mutations was found in the treatment of 1.0 % EMS. There was a dose dependent increase in the spectrum and frequency of chlorophyll mutations. These chlorophyll mutants induced by gamma radiation and EMS could be used in mutation breeding programme for inducing viable mutations for improvement of bell pepper varieties

    Domestic violence is one of the most prevalent crimes in India. The main purpose of this paper is to explore its economic effect on the nation. The first part deals with the different types and categories of costs incurred privately and socially due to the act of domestic violence. It tries to understand and review the existing cost measure and emphasizes consider the intangible costs also while making the policy related to IPV. The second part deals with a non-cooperative model of a family wherein violence exists and what are the way out or solutions for the victim to control the level of violence. The third part shows the dependence of the business cycle or the impact of the down economy as in COVID-19 on the increasing cases of domestic violence. The fourth part deals with the problem of decreasing the rate of involvement of women in the labour work/force of India. It discusses the effect of family structure on the participation or non-participation of a woman and emphasizes providing more opportunities that would be suitable for a woman in a particular area. The fifth part tests whether the hypothesis is proved or disproved based on the above-discussed matter and the last part disscuss the policy implications of the different findings

    3D Printing‐Enabled Design and Manufacturing Strategies for Batteries: A Review

    Lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) have significantly impacted the daily lives, finding broad applications in various industries such as consumer electronics, electric vehicles, medical devices, aerospace, and power tools. However, they still face issues (i.e., safety due to dendrite propagation, manufacturing cost, random porosities, and basic & planar geometries) that hinder their widespread applications as the demand for LIBs rapidly increases in all sectors due to their high energy and power density values compared to other batteries. Additive manufacturing (AM) is a promising technique for creating precise and programmable structures in energy storage devices. This review first summarizes light, filament, powder, and jetting-based 3D printing methods with the status on current trends and limitations for each AM technology. The paper also delves into 3D printing-enabled electrodes (both anodes and cathodes) and solid-state electrolytes for LIBs, emphasizing the current state-of-the-art materials, manufacturing methods, and properties/performance. Additionally, the current challenges in the AM for electrochemical energy storage (EES) applications, including limited materials, low processing precision, codesign/comanufacturing concepts for complete battery printing, machine learning (ML)/artificial intelligence (AI) for processing optimization and data analysis, environmental risks, and the potential of 4D printing in advanced battery applications, are also presented

    Phytoextraction as a tool for green chemistry

    The unique chemical and physical properties of metals mean that they are extensively utilized by industry in a huge variety of applications, including electronics, materials, industrial catalysts and chemicals. The increased consumer demand from a growing population worldwide with rising aspirations for a better life has resulted in concerns over the security of supply and accessibility of these valuable elements. As such, there is a growing need to develop alternative methods to recover them from waste repositories, current or historic, both for hazard avoidance and potentially, as a new source of metals for industry. Phytoextraction (the use of plants for the recovery of metals from waste repositories) is a green and novel technique for metal recovery, which, if done with the goal of resource supply rather than hazard mitigation, is termed “phytomining”. The ability for plants to form metallic nanoparticles as a consequence of phytoextraction could make the recovered metal ideally suited for utilization in green chemical technologies, such as catalysis. This review focuses on a multidisciplinary approach to elemental sustainability and highlights important aspects of metal lifecycle analysis, metal waste sources (including mine tailings), phytoextraction and potential green chemical applications that may result from the integration of these approaches
