RhoA signaling in cardiomyocytes protects against stress-induced heart failure but facilitates cardiac fibrosis
The Ras-related guanosine triphosphatase RhoA mediates pathological cardiac hypertrophy, but also promotes cell survival and is cardioprotective after ischemia/reperfusion injury. To understand how RhoA mediates these opposing roles in the myocardium, we generated mice with a cardiomyocyte-specific deletion of RhoA. Under normal conditions, the hearts from these mice showed functional, structural, and growth parameters similar to control mice. Additionally, the hearts of the cardiomyocyte-specific, RhoA-deficient mice subjected to transverse aortic constriction (TAC)-a procedure that induces pressure overload and, if prolonged, heart failure-exhibited a similar amount of hypertrophy as those of the wild-type mice subjected to TAC. Thus, neither normal cardiac homeostasis nor the initiation of compensatory hypertrophy required RhoA in cardiomyocytes. However, in response to chronic TAC, hearts from mice with cardiomyocyte-specific deletion of RhoA showed greater dilation, with thinner ventricular walls and larger chamber dimensions, and more impaired contractile function than those from control mice subjected to chronic TAC. These effects were associated with aberrant calcium signaling, as well as decreased activity of extracellular signal-regulated kinases 1 and 2 (ERK1/2) and AKT. In addition, hearts from mice with cardiomyocyte-specific RhoA deficiency also showed less fibrosis in response to chronic TAC, with decreased transcriptional activation of genes involved in fibrosis, including myocardin response transcription factor (MRTF) and serum response factor (SRF), suggesting that the fibrotic response to stress in the heart depends on cardiomyocyte-specific RhoA signaling. Our data indicated that RhoA regulates multiple pathways in cardiomyocytes, mediating both cardioprotective (hypertrophy without dilation) and cardio-deleterious effects (fibrosis).

Fatal haemoptysis in a case of lymphomatoid granulomatosis treated with rituximab.
International audienceLymphomatoid granulomatosis is a rare angiocentric and angiodestructive disease, which commonly involves the lungs but also the brain, kidneys, liver and skin. This report describes the case of a 33-yr-old female with an aggressive form of lymphoid granulomatosis treated with an anti-CD20 antibody. Dramatic radiological improvement was seen at the fourth week. However, the patient died at home 1 month after the last rituximab administration from a massive haemoptysis

ACEMIND: The smart integrated home network
Digital home business is a large potential market for which ACEMIND
European collaborative project intends to provide a set of consistent
solutions to enhance the local network management in home and small
enterprises. These networks are typically constituted by some tens of
devices connected to each other via a set of wired and wireless
technologies. The deployment of such networks has been intensive in
Europe in the last decade and will continue in the future. However
common end-users still suffer from complicated installation, operation
or maintenance.
Recent progress has been made to integrate heterogeneous connectivity
into a single network. A proof of concept has been shown thanks to
European collaborative project OMEGA and the hybrid network demonstrator
has led to an IEEE standard and available commercial products.
The goal of ACEMIND project is to enrich this initial concept with new
features and services such as energy efficiency, packets load balancing
or anomaly detection. Another target is to integrate future products
using new transmission technologies. Then, using a unique userfriendly
GUI (Graphical User Interface), it will be possible to monitor and
manage the home network with a large range of services such as energy
optimization, UHD TV or wellness

Measurement of spin correlation between top and antitop quarks produced in collisions at TeV
We present a measurement of the correlation between the spins of t and tbar quarks produced in proton-antiproton collisions at the Tevatron Collider at a center-of-mass energy of 1.96 TeV. We apply a matrix element technique to dilepton and single-lepton+jets final states in data accumulated with the D0 detector that correspond to an integrated luminosity of 9.7 fb. The measured value of the correlation coefficient in the off-diagonal basis, (stat + syst), is in agreement with the standard model prediction, and represents evidence for a top-antitop quark spin correlation difference from zero at a level of 4.2 standard deviations. We present a measurement of the correlation between the spins of t and t¯ quarks produced in proton–antiproton collisions at the Tevatron Collider at a center-of-mass energy of 1.96 TeV. Studies of and production in collisions at 1.96 TeV
International audienceWe present various properties of the production of the X(3872) and ψ(2S) states based on 10.4 fb-1 collected by the D0 experiment in Tevatron pp¯ collisions at s=1.96 TeV. For both states, we measure the nonprompt fraction fNP of the inclusive production rate due to decays of b-flavored hadrons. We find the fNP values systematically below those obtained at the LHC. The fNP fraction for ψ(2S) increases with transverse momentum, whereas for the X(3872) it is constant within large uncertainties, in agreement with the LHC results. The ratio of prompt to nonprompt ψ(2S) production, (1-fNP)/fNP, decreases only slightly going from the Tevatron to the LHC, but for the X(3872), this ratio decreases by a factor of about 3. We test the soft-pion signature of the X(3872) modeled as a weakly bound charm-meson pair by studying the production of the X(3872) as a function of the kinetic energy of the X(3872) and the pion in the X(3872)π center-of-mass frame. For a subsample consistent with prompt production, the results are incompatible with a strong enhancement in the production of the X(3872) at the small kinetic energy of the X(3872) and the π in the X(3872)π center-of-mass frame expected for the X+soft-pion production mechanism. For events consistent with being due to decays of b hadrons, there is no significant evidence for the soft-pion effect, but its presence at the level expected for the binding energy of 0.17 MeV and the momentum scale Λ=M(π) is not ruled out
Search for Violation of and Lorentz invariance in meson oscillations
We present the first search for CPT-violating effects in the mixing of mesons using the full Run II data set with an integrated luminosity of 10.4 fb of proton-antiproton collisions collected using the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. We measure the CPT-violating asymmetry in the decay as a function of celestial direction and sidereal phase. We find no evidence for CPT-violating effects and place limits on the direction and magnitude of flavor-dependent CPT- and Lorentz-invariance violating coupling coefficients. We find 95\% confidence intervals of GeV and GeV
