Deep crustal electromagnetic structure of Bhuj earthquake region (India) and its implications

The existence of fluids and partial melt in the lower crust of the seismically active Kutch rift basin (on the western continental margin of India) owing to underplating has been proposed in previous geological and geophysical studies. This hypothesis is examined using magnetotelluric (MT) data acquired at 23 stations along two profiles across Kutch Mainland Uplift and Wagad Uplift. A detailed upper crustal structure is also presented using twodimensional inversion of MT data in the Bhuj earthquake (2001) area. The prominent boundaries of reflection in the upper crust at 5, 10 and 20 km obtained in previous seismic reflection profiles correlate with conductive structures in our models. The MT study reveals 1-2 km thick Mesozoic sediments under the Deccan trap cover. The Deccan trap thickness in this region varies from a few meters to 1.5 km. The basement is shallow on the northern side compared to the south and is in good agreement with geological models as well as drilling information. The models for these profiles indicate that the thickness of sediments would further increase southwards into the Gula of Kutch. Significant findings of the present study indicate 1) the hypocentre region of the earthquake is devoid of fluids, 2) absence of melt (that is emplaced during rifting as suggested from the passive seismological studies) in the lower crust and 3) a low resistive zone in the depth range of 5-20 km. The present MT study rules out fluids and melt (magma) as the causative factors that triggered the Bhuj earthquake. The estimated porosity value of 0.02% Hill explain 100-500 ohm•m resistivity values observed in the lower crust. Based on the seismic velocities and geochemical studies, presence of garnet is inferred. The lower crust consists of basalts - probably generated by partial melting of metasomatised garnet peridotite at beeper depths in the lithosphere - and their composition might be modified by reaction with the spinel peridotites

Avaliação de métodos de enxertia para a gravioleira em Viçosa-MG.

Visando obter informações sobre técnicas de enxertia em gravioleira (Annoma muricata L.), foram avaliados, neste trabalho, nove métodos de enxertia: garfagem à inglesa simples com e sem parafina; garfagem à inglesa com entalhe com e sem parafina; garfagem no topo em fenda cheia com e sem parafina; borbulhia em placa; borbulhia em janela aberta e borbulhia em T invertido. Os métodos de garfagem à inglesa simples e de garfagem no topo em fenda cheia, ambos com e sem parafinados, apresentaram maiores índices no pegamento e brotamento do enxerto. Apesar de não diferirem entre si, os métodos com uso de grafos parafinados podem ser recomendados por proporcionarem menor custo na produção de mudas enxertadas de graviola.Edição do XI Congresso Brasileiro de Fruticultura

Porta-enxertos para laranjeiras-doces (Citrus sinensis (L.) OSB.), em Rio Branco, Acre.

O objetivo deste trabalho foi de avaliar o comportamento de sete cultivares de laranjeiras-doces: 'Baia 101', 'Baianinha IAC 79', 'Monte Parnaso', 'Pêra D6', 'Natal 112', 'Valência 27' e 'Aquiri', sobre diferentes porta-enxertos: limão 'Cravo', tangerinas 'Cleópatra' e 'Sunki' e citrange 'Carrizo', nas condições edafoclimáticas de Rio Branco, Acre. O delineamento experimental foi em parcelas subdivididas, com as cultivares nas parcelas, os porta-enxertos nas subparcelas e os quatro anos de avaliação como repetições. As laranjeiras 'Pêra D6', 'Natal 112' e 'Valência 27' apresentaram tendências de maior produção quando enxertadas sobre o limão 'Cravo', e a laranja 'Aquiri' quando enxertada sobre citrange 'Carrizo'. Em relação aos demais porta-enxertos, o limão 'Cravo' mostrou tendências de induzir maior produção/volume de copa e peso médio do fruto, e menor teor de sólidos solúveis totais e acidez total. As laranjas do grupo Baia ('Baia 101', 'Baianinha IAC 79' e 'Monte Parnaso') produziram frutos com baixa percentagem de suco; não são recomendadas para plantio em Rio Branco, AC. Com base nos resultados obtidos, recomendam-se os porta-enxertos citrange 'Carrizo', tangerina 'Cleópatra' e limão 'Cravo' para a laranja 'Aquiri', e o porta-enxerto limão 'Cravo' para as laranjas 'Pêra D6', 'Natal 112' e 'Valência 27'

A produção mundial de banana é de aproximadamente 102,1 milhões de toneladas em uma área de 4,7 milhões de hectares. O Brasil é o quinto maior produtor 6,9 milhões de toneladas em uma área de 486 mil hectares (1). Apesar de Sergipe ocupar o sétimo lugar em produção na região, com aproximadamente 57 mil toneladas colhidos numa área de aproximadamente quatro mil hectares (2), o cultivo da banana tem grande importância socioeconômica para o Estado.

In Government Regulation No. 71/2010, the following four characteristics are the normative requirements needed so that government financial reports can meet the desired quality, namely: relevant, reliable, comparable, and understandable. The problems to be examined in this study are the factors that affect the quality of financial statement information.This study analyzes human resource competence, internal control systems, and technology utilization on the quality of financial report information at Kementerian Hukum Dan HAM Regional Office, NTT Province. This research includes quantitative research. Data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires to employees of the Kemenkumham Regional Office's finance division. This study uses primary data, namely, research data obtained or collected directly from the original source. The statistical method used is multiple linear regression analysis techniques.This study's results are based on partial tests; human resource competence, technology use, and internal control systems have a positive effect on the quality of financial statement information. Moreover, based on the simultaneous test results, human resource competence, technology use, and internal control systems significantly affect the quality of financial report information at Kementerian Hukum Dan HAM Regional Office, NTT Province. BRS Kurumi and BRS Capiaçu - New elephant grass cultivars for grazing and cut-and-carry system.

Cultivar BRS Kurumi is characterized by short plant height, short internodes, high dry matter production (29.25 t ha-1yr-1), has a high nutritional value and is recommended for the cut-and-carry system or grazing.
