Remarks to the ecology of the boreo-montane polypore Amylocystis lapponica based on data from the Czech Republic and Poland

In the Czech Republic, the rare polypore Amylocystis lapponica continuously occurs in the Boubínský prales virgin forest (southern Bohemia: Šumava Mts.) where it has been documented for more than 60 years. Similarly, in Poland it has been known only from the Puszcza Białowieska virgin forest (northeastern Poland) for more than 50 years. Generally, it is considered a species of boreal coniferous forests of northern Europe (taiga) and montane coniferous forests in Central and Southern Europe. However, the data from the Czech Republic, Slovakia and western Ukraine show that it also grows in mixed montane forests composed mainly of Fagus sylvatica, Picea abies and Abies alba. In Poland, the locality is situated in a lowland forest consisting mostly of Carpinus betulus, Quercus robur and Tilia cordata. In Central Europe, A. lapponica occurs only in virgin forest refuges with the following habitat conditions: vegetation continuity (never cut), natural tree species composition, multi-aged structure, rich presence of dead wood in various stages of decay, relatively large area of the virgin forest surrounded by near-natural forests, stable, cold and humid meso- and microclimate. Consequently, A. lapponica may be considered an indicator of long-term vegetation continuity and stable habitat conditions

A unified phylogeny-based nomenclature for histone variants

Histone variants are non-allelic protein isoforms that play key roles in diversifying chromatin structure. The known number of such variants has greatly increased in recent years, but the lack of naming conventions for them has led to a variety of naming styles, multiple synonyms and misleading homographs that obscure variant relationships and complicate database searches. We propose here a unified nomenclature for variants of all five classes of histones that uses consistent but flexible naming conventions to produce names that are informative and readily searchable. The nomenclature builds on historical usage and incorporates phylogenetic relationships, which are strong predictors of structure and function. A key feature is the consistent use of punctuation to represent phylogenetic divergence, making explicit the relationships among variant subtypes that have previously been implicit or unclear. We recommend that by default new histone variants be named with organism-specific paralog-number suffixes that lack phylogenetic implication, while letter suffixes be reserved for structurally distinct clades of variants. For clarity and searchability, we encourage the use of descriptors that are separate from the phylogeny-based variant name to indicate developmental and other properties of variants that may be independent of structure

Comparison of Communist Successor Parties in Poland and Hungary

The thesis deals with the issue of transformation of communist parties and their subsequent establishment to a democratic world. In theoretic part of the thesis the author follows upon the concept of communist successor party itself, but also examines the differences between communist regimes and strategies of the very transformation. The thesis puts a target in defining the factors and events that direct political heading of those parties. As the subject of investigation the two states and their communist parties were chosen - Poland and Hungary. In those two states particularly the reform wing of the parties gained very prominent position and took control over the democratization and transformation process. After the fall of communism those reform elites became the representatives of the successor parties and started ideological diverging from the extreme left. They began the process of social - democratization, thanks to which those parties had not only survived but also returned to a government shortly. At the final end of the thesis it watches the problematic of the integration of those parties to the European politic structure

Design and implementation of web application for evaluating the location of mobile objects

Práce je zaměřena především na návrh a implementaci webové aplikace pro monitorování polohy osob při sportovních aktivitách. Teoretická část se zabývá možnostmi Geolokace s důrazem na globální satelitní navigační systémy. Dále je provedena rešerše nad vybranými projekty z oblasti sledování polohy při sportovních aktivitách. Závěr teoretické části obsahuje přehled a krátký popis nejvyužívanějších technologií pro psaní webových aplikací. Praktická část je zaměřena na implementaci aplikace. Aplikace je rozdělena na Klientskou část, která je vytvořena v Javascriptovém frameworku Vuejs a na serverovou část, pro kterou je použit mikro-framework Lumen. V práci je také popsána implementace funkcí pro zpracování GPS dat. Mezi tyto funkce patří například zjemnění, nebo aproximace dat na stanovenou dráhu závodu.The document is mainly focused on the design and implementation of web application for tracking the position of people in sports activities. The theoretical part deals with the possibilities of geolocation with an emphasis on global satellite navigation systems. In addition, a search is made of selected position monitoring projects for sporting activities. Conclusion of the theoretical part contains overview and short description of the most used technologies for creating web applications. The practical part is focused on implementation of the application. The application is divided into the Client part, which is created in the Javascript framework Vuejs and the server part is built by the microframework Lumen. The thesis also describes the implementation of GPS data processing functions.
