Research on Rapidly Shaped Charge Cutting Technology of Aircraft Damaged Thin-Wall Structure
Shaped charge cutting technology has been introduced into the field of aircraft structure repair to rapidly reshape irregular holes in thin-walled structures. In the present research, numerical calculation of the dynamic cutting process by ANSYS and experiments of shaped charge cutting on a 2A12 aluminum alloy plate with 2 mm thickness have been carried out. It was found that fast kerf is smooth, producing a neat edge and good linearity. The incision fracture section is arranged in neat rows on a corrugated strip, and the lines are clear. Otherwise, the lower part is slightly messy without obvious distribution rules. The target plate separation method of cumulative cutting is a kind of “pre-penetration” and “late tear” method. The application of shaped charge cutting technology can aid in repair of aircrafts’ thin-walled structural damage
Semileptonic and nonleptonic B decays to three charm quarks: B->J/psi (eta_c) D l nu and J/psi (eta_c) D pi
We evaluate the form factors describing the semileptonic decays , within the framework of a QCD
relativistic potential model. This decay is complementary to in a phase space region where a pion factors out.We
estimate the branching ratio for these semileptonic and nonleptonic channels,

A possible minimal gauge-Higgs unification
A possible minimal model of the gauge-Higgs unification based on the higher
dimensional spacetime M^4 X (S^1/Z_2) and the bulk gauge symmetry SU(3)_C X
SU(3)_W X U(1)_X is constructed in some details. We argue that the Weinberg
angle and the electromagnetic current can be correctly identified if one
introduces the extra U(1)_X above and a bulk scalar triplet. The VEV of this
scalar as well as the orbifold boundary conditions will break the bulk gauge
symmetry down to that of the standard model. A new neutral zero-mode gauge
boson Z' exists that gains mass via this VEV. We propose a simple fermion
content that is free from all the anomalies when the extra brane-localized
chiral fermions are taken into account as well. The issues on recovering a
standard model chiral-fermion spectrum with the masses and flavor mixing are
also discussed, where we need to introduce the two other brane scalars which
also contribute to the Z' mass in the similar way as the scalar triplet. The
neutrinos can get small masses via a type I seesaw mechanism. In this model,
the mass of the Z' boson and the compactification scale are very constrained as
respectively given in the ranges: 2.7 TeV < m_Z' < 13.6 TeV and 40 TeV < 1/R <
200 TeV.Comment: 20 pages, revised versio
Gauge Dependence of Mass and Condensate in Chirally Asymmetric Phase of Quenched QED3
We study three dimensional quenched Quantum Electrodynamics in the bare
vertex approximation. We investigate the gauge dependence of the dynamically
generated Euclidean mass of the fermion and the chiral condensate for a wide
range of values of the covariant gauge parameter . We find that (i) away
from , gauge dependence of the said quantities is considerably reduced
without resorting to sophisticated vertex {\em ansatze}, (ii) wavefunction
renormalization plays an important role in restoring gauge invariance and (iii)
the Ward-Green-Takahashi identity seems to increase the gauge dependence when
used in conjunction with some simplifying assumptions. In the Landau gauge, we
also verify that our results are in agreement with those based upon dimensional
regularization scheme within the numerical accuracy available.Comment: 14 pages, 11 figures, uses revte
Questioning the rise of gelatinous zooplankton in the World's oceans
During the past several decades, high numbers of gelatinous zooplankton species have been reported in many estuarine and coastal ecosystems. Coupled with media-driven public perception, a paradigm has evolved in which the global ocean ecosystems are thought to be heading toward being dominated by “nuisance” jellyfish. We question this current paradigm by presenting a broad overview of gelatinous zooplankton in a historicalcontext to develop the hypothesis that population changes reflect the human-mediated alteration of global ocean ecosystems. To this end, we synthesize information related to the evolutionary context of contemporary gelatinous zooplankton blooms, the human frame of reference forchanges in gelatinous zooplankton populations, and whether sufficient data are available to have established the paradigm. We conclude that the current paradigm in which it is believed that there has been a global increase in gelatinous zooplankton is unsubstantiated, and we develop a strategy for addressing the critical questions about long-term, human-related changes in the sea as they relate to gelatinous zooplankton blooms
Novel Bound States Treatment of the Two Dimensional Schrodinger Equation with Pseudocentral Plus Multiparameter Noncentral Potential
By converting the rectangular basis potential V(x,y) into the form as
V(r)+V(r, phi) described by the pseudo central plus noncentral potential,
particular solutions of the two dimensional Schrodinger equation in plane-polar
coordinates have been carried out through the analytic approaching technique of
the Nikiforov and Uvarov (NUT). Both the exact bound state energy spectra and
the corresponding bound state wavefunctions of the complete system are
determined explicitly and in closed forms. Our presented results are identical
to those of the previous works and they may also be useful for investigation
and analysis of structural characteristics in a variety of quantum systemsComment: Published, 16 page
Measurement of the p-pbar -> Wgamma + X cross section at sqrt(s) = 1.96 TeV and WWgamma anomalous coupling limits
The WWgamma triple gauge boson coupling parameters are studied using p-pbar
-> l nu gamma + X (l = e,mu) events at sqrt(s) = 1.96 TeV. The data were
collected with the DO detector from an integrated luminosity of 162 pb^{-1}
delivered by the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. The cross section times branching
fraction for p-pbar -> W(gamma) + X -> l nu gamma + X with E_T^{gamma} > 8 GeV
and Delta R_{l gamma} > 0.7 is 14.8 +/- 1.6 (stat) +/- 1.0 (syst) +/- 1.0 (lum)
pb. The one-dimensional 95% confidence level limits on anomalous couplings are
-0.88 < Delta kappa_{gamma} < 0.96 and -0.20 < lambda_{gamma} < 0.20.Comment: Submitted to Phys. Rev. D Rapid Communication
Measurement of the ttbar Production Cross Section in ppbar Collisions at sqrt{s} = 1.96 TeV using Kinematic Characteristics of Lepton + Jets Events
We present a measurement of the top quark pair ttbar production cross section
in ppbar collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 1.96 TeV using 230 pb**{-1}
of data collected by the DO detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. We
select events with one charged lepton (electron or muon), large missing
transverse energy, and at least four jets, and extract the ttbar content of the
sample based on the kinematic characteristics of the events. For a top quark
mass of 175 GeV, we measure sigma(ttbar) = 6.7 {+1.4-1.3} (stat) {+1.6- 1.1}
(syst) +/-0.4 (lumi) pb, in good agreement with the standard model prediction.Comment: submitted to Phys.Rev.Let
Measurement of the ttbar Production Cross Section in ppbar Collisions at sqrt(s)=1.96 TeV using Lepton + Jets Events with Lifetime b-tagging
We present a measurement of the top quark pair () production cross
section () in collisions at TeV
using 230 pb of data collected by the D0 experiment at the Fermilab
Tevatron Collider. We select events with one charged lepton (electron or muon),
missing transverse energy, and jets in the final state. We employ
lifetime-based b-jet identification techniques to further enhance the
purity of the selected sample. For a top quark mass of 175 GeV, we
measure pb, in
agreement with the standard model expectation.Comment: 7 pages, 2 figures, 3 tables Submitted to Phys.Rev.Let
Search for W' bosons decaying to an electron and a neutrino with the D0 detector
This Letter describes the search for a new heavy charged gauge boson W'
decaying into an electron and a neutrino. The data were collected with the D0
detector at the Fermilab Tevatron proton-antiproton Collider at a
center-of-mass energy of 1.96 TeV, and correspond to an integrated luminosity
of about 1 inverse femtobarn. Lacking any significant excess in the data in
comparison with known processes, an upper limit is set on the production cross
section times branching fraction, and a W' boson with mass below 1.00 TeV can
be excluded at the 95% C.L., assuming standard-model-like couplings to
fermions. This result significantly improves upon previous limits, and is the
most stringent to date.Comment: submitted to Phys. Rev. Let
