La participación de Nacional Financiera en el proceso de industrialización en México, 1946-1952

Maestría en Economía.Este trabajo tiene como objetivo hacer un análisis sobre la importancia que tuvo Nacional Financiera en los inicios del periodo de industrialización en México, en especial, en las administraciones de Manuel Ávila Camacho y Miguel Alemán Valdés, en donde la institución fue reformada para cumplir la misión de apoyar de manera decidida el crecimiento de la actividad industrial mediante su acción. El estudio consta de cuatro partes. En la primera, se presenta un panorama general del significado de banca y las distintas funciones que cumple. Posteriormente, se realiza una aproximación hacia el concepto de banca de desarrollo o de fomento. Culminando el apartado con un breve repaso de la historia de este tipo de banca en los siglos XIX y XX, en particular en La segunda parte tiene como propósito hacer un breve recorrido sobre los antecedentes y el establecimiento de la banca de desarrollo en México, y comprende desde la fundación de la Caja de Préstamos para Obras de Irrigación y Fomento de la Agricultura en 1908 hasta la década de los treinta cuando se fundan en el país las instituciones nacionales de crédito, presentado los objetivos y las funciones encomendadas a estas para apoyar a los sectores agrícola, industrial y comercial de México. El tercer apartado expone algunos aspectos relacionados con el proceso de industrialización que se llevó a cabo en México en la década de los cuarenta. Los temas que se abordan son: los proyectos de industrialización que fueron discutidos en el país en dicha década; y el apoyo que recibió el sector industrial por parte de instituciones del gobierno federal en especial el Banco de México y la Secretaría de Hacienda y Crédito Público. Finalmente, el capítulo cuatro tiene como temática la transformación que sufrió Nacional Financiera en la década de los cuarenta y la influencia que tuvo en el sector industrial, mediante el otorgamiento de créditos, así como la participación como accionista en empresas vinculadas al sector manufacturero

Reforming the un security council : Colombia between light and shadow

Reformar el Consejo de Seguridad es un proceso ineludible, configurado cuatro grandes tendencias entre Estados que defienden posiciones divergentes, tanto respecto del procedimiento para materializar dicha reforma, así como de las cuestiones de fondo, sobre las cuales edifican sus posiciones nacionales. Ello ha mantenido el proceso inconcluso desde los años 90 del siglo XX y ofrece un panorama incierto, de cara al reajuste del mandato y el funcionamiento de este órgano de las Naciones Unidas. A partir de una metodología de rastreo de procesos de comprobación teórica, se analiza el comportamiento tópico de los Estados, con base a las reglas, normas y principios que inciden en la definición de sus intereses, estableciendo los mecanismos de causalidad entre las variables que caracterizan la reforma y la prolongan en el tiempo. En cada mecanismo causal se identifica la posición de Colombia, a fin de establecer las características de su comportamiento y la definición de sus posibilidades de incidencia, con base en el razonamiento normativo práctico, concepto tomado del cosntructivismo del Dr. Friedrich Kratochwil.Reforming the Security Council is an inevitable process in which four major trends have emerged among States, defending divergent positions regarding the procedure for materializing this reform and the basic issues underpinning their national positions. This has kept the process uncompleted since the 1990s and offers an uncertain outlook for the readjustment of the mandate and functioning of this United Nations body. Based on a methodology of theory-Testing Process-Tracing, (Dr. Derek Beach), the topical behavior of the States is analyzed, based on the rules, norms, and principles that affect the definition of their interests, establishing the mechanisms of causality between the variables that characterize the reform and prolong it over time. Diseño e implementación de un plan de mantenimiento preventivo asistido por software tipo CMMS para la empresa pasabocas Patty S.A.S

El mantenimiento es una herramienta fundamental en cualquier empresa pues a partir de éste es posible preservar en condiciones óptimas el estado de máquinas, permitiendo evitar en lo posible paradas imprevistas que afecten la producción. Para poder realizar un mantenimiento es necesario tener un plan de desarrollo que permita llevar un control adecuado del estado de cada activo dentro de una empresa, lo cual es posible a través de softwares computacionales que facilitan el manejo y control de éstos. En el presente trabajo se presenta de manera satisfactoria un plan de mantenimiento preventivo a 19 máquinas para la empresa PASABOCAS PATTY S.A.S completando, en su gran mayoría, el plan preventivo que se tenía anteriormente. Así, es posible asegurar que al cumplir con el mantenimiento preventivo estipulado se podrá mantener un estado y utilidad digna de los equipos según la función por la cual fueron fabricados. Con la implementación de dicho mantenimiento es posible asegurar una mayor vida útil, disminución de costos de intervención, reducción del tiempo de inactividad y llevar un control del proceso, entre otras. Debido a que la empresa Pasabocas Patty logró la certificación BRC (British Retail Consortium)1, fue necesario lograr implementar un control sobre el proceso productivo que cumpliera con las normas de calidad solicitadas, lo cual mediante la implementación y control del plan de mantenimiento preventivo fue posible ofrecer una ayuda para la obtención de la certificación. Con el fin de establecer el plan de mantenimiento preventivo fue necesario el apoyo y colaboración del equipo de mantenimiento, tanto técnicos como ingeniero a cargo, de los pocos manuales físicos que se tenían, de una exhaustiva búsqueda de manuales en la web y del levantamiento de información de campo; de acuerdo a esta metodología fue posible implementar tarjetas maestras, rutas y rutinas para los equipos que se mencionan en el presente documento. Por medio del software SMPlus Pro se realizaron los ítems mencionados anteriormente y demás actividades relacionadas con el puesto de planeador de mantenimiento, como lo son: el realizar la retroalimentación y generación adecuada de órdenes de trabajo, actualización de repuestos, creación de especialistas, procesos y equipos y reportes de gestión.Maintenance is a fundamental tool in any company because from this it is possible to preserve in optimal conditions the condition of machines, allowing to avoid unforeseen stops that affect production as much as possible. To be able to perform a maintenance it is necessary to have a development plan that allows to keep a control of the status of each asset within a company, which is possible through computer software that facilitates the management and control of these. In the present work it was possible to implement in a satisfactory way a preventive maintenance plan to 19 machines of the company PASABOCAS PATTY S.A.S completing, for the most part, the preventive plan that was previously available. Thus, it is possible to ensure that compliance with the stipulated preventive maintenance will be able to maintain a dignified state and usefulness of the equipment according to the function by which they were manufactured. With the implementation of such maintenance, it is possible to ensure a longer service life, reduced intervention costs, reduced downtime and keep a check on the process, among others. Because the company Pasabocas Patty achieved BRC certification (British Retail Consortium), it was necessary to implement a control on the production process that met the quality standards requested, which through the implementation and control of the preventive maintenance plan was possible to offer assistance in obtaining certification. In order to establish the preventive maintenance plan, it was necessary the support and collaboration of the maintenance team, both technical and engineer in charge, of the few physical manuals that were available, of a thorough search of manuals on the web and the survey of field information; according to this methodology it was possible to implement master cards, routes and routines for the teams mentioned in this document. PT\mathcal{PT}-symmetric strings

We study both analytically and numerically the spectrum of inhomogeneous strings with $\mathcal{PT}$-symmetric density. We discuss an exactly solvable model of $\mathcal{PT}$-symmetric string which is isospectral to the uniform string; for more general strings, we calculate exactly the sum rules $Z(p) \equiv \sum_{n=1}^\infty 1/E_n^p$, with $p=1,2,\dots$ and find explicit expressions which can be used to obtain bounds on the lowest eigenvalue. A detailed numerical calculation is carried out for two non-solvable models depending on a parameter, obtaining precise estimates of the critical values where pair of real eigenvalues become complex.Comment: 13 pages, 7 figure

Tourism policy in the Canary Islands : past experiences, current trends and future plans

The Canary Islands are a well-known brand in Europe, and in 2017 the number of tourist arrivals exceeded 14 million. The heavy tourist inflow in the 1990s prompted the Government of the Canary Islands to adopt a policy to protect the environment by restricting the building of new hotels. This moratorium was abolished in 2018. The paper describes the evolution of Canary Islands tourism policy in recent years and explains how the government, in cooperation with the private sector, is planning transform the Canary archipelago into a destination with distinct features, different from its competitors.peer-reviewe

Epothilone-d rescues cognition and attenuates alzheimer’s disease-like pathology in APP/PS1 mice

AIMS: Cognitive decline in Alzheimer's disease (AD) patients has been linked to synaptic damage and neuronal loss. Hyperphosphorylation of tau protein destabilizes microtubules leading to the accumulation of autophagy/vesicular material and the generation of dystrophic neurites, thus contributing to axonal/synaptic dysfunction. In this study, we analyzed the effect of a microtubule-stabilizing compound in the progression of the disease in the hippocampus of APP751SL/PS1M146L transgenic model. METHODS: APP/PS1 mice (3 month-old) were treated with a weekly intraperitoneal injection of 2 mg/kg epothilone-D (Epo-D) for 3 months. Vehicle-injected animals were used as controls. Mice were tested on the Morris water maze, Y-maze and object-recognition tasks for memory performance. Abeta, AT8, ubiquitin and synaptic markers levels were analyzed by Western-blots. Hippocampal plaque, synaptic and dystrophic loadings were quantified by image analysis after immunohistochemical stainings. RESULTS: Epo-D treated mice exhibited a significant improvement in the memory tests compared to controls. The rescue of cognitive deficits was associated to a significant reduction in the AD-like hippocampal pathology. Levels of Abeta, APP and ubiquitin were significantly reduced in treated animals. This was paralleled by a decrease in the amyloid burden, and more importantly, in the plaque-associated axonal dystrophy pathology. Finally, synaptic levels were significantly restored in treated animals compared to controls. CONCLUSION: Epo-D treatment promotes synaptic and spatial memory recovery, reduces the accumulation of extracellular Abeta and the associated neuritic pathology in the hippocampus of APP/PS1 model. Therefore, microtubule stabilizing drugs could be considered therapeutical candidates to slow down AD progression. Diseño de un tesauro sobre las Fuerzas y Cuerpos de Seguridad del Estado.

Este Trabajo Fin de Grado desarrolla y propone un tesauro de las Fuerzas y Cuerpos de Seguridad del Estado (FFCCS) de España. El objetivo es organizar y clasificar la información y la documentación de las FFCCSE, entender su estructura tanto interna como externa, conocer su modus operandi, así como facilitar el aprendizaje del vocabulario controlado para las personas que deseen opositar a estas fuerzas de seguridad, a estudios relacionados, o al público general mediante el desglose terminológico. Puesto que el trabajo trata sobre las FFCCS del Estado y no de las autonomías, no están incluidas las lenguas autonómicas distintas al castellano. Este trabajo sigue la norma “ISO 25964 Information and documentation — Thesauri and interoperability with othervocabularies”, tanto la parte primera como la segunda, y está organizado en un sistema de facetas, la de agente y la de actividades. Este diseño se centra en España, pero puede extenderse al ámbito internacional.<br /

SYSTEMIC ADMINISTRATION OF EPOTHYLONE-D RECUES MEMORY AND AMELIORATES ALZHEIMER’S DISEASE-LIKE PATHOLOGY IN APP/PS1 MICE

Aims Cognitive and memory decline in Alzheimer's disease (AD) patients is highly related to synaptic dysfunction and neuronal loss. Tau hyperphosphorylation destabilizes microtubules leading to axonal transport failure, accumulation of autophagy/vesicular material and the generation of dystrophic neurites, thus contributing to axonal/synaptic dysfunction. In this study, we analyzed the effect of a microtubule-stabilizing drug in the progression of the disease in an APP751SL/PS1M146L transgenic model. Method APP/PS1 mice (3 month-old) were weekly treated with 2 mg/kg intraperitoneal injections of Epothilone-D (Epo-D) for 3 months. Vehicle-injected animals were used as controls. For memory performance, animals were tested on the object-recognition tasks, Y-maze and Morris water maze. Levels of Abeta, ubiquitin, AT8 and synaptic markers were analyzed by Western-blot. Hippocampal plaque burden, dystrophic and synaptic loadings were quantified after immunostaining by image analysis. Results Epo-D treated mice showed a significant improvement in the performance of hippocampus-associated cognitive tests compared to controls. This memory recovery correlated with a significant reduction in the AD-like hippocampal pathology. Abeta, APP and ubiquitin levels were significantly reduced in treated animals, and a decrease in both the plaque loading and the axonal pathology was also found. Finally, synaptic levels were significantly preserved in treated animals in comparison with controls. Conclusion Epo-D treatment promotes synaptic and cognitive improvement, reduces the accumulation of extracellular Abeta and the associated neuritic pathology in the hippocampus of APP/PS1 model. Variables y Modelos Para La Identificación y Predicción Del Fracaso Empresarial: Revisión de La Investigación Empírica Reciente: Variables and Models for the Identification and Prediction of Business Failure: Revision of Recent Empirical Research Advances

This work analyzes the evolution of business failure literature. In it, we consider previous critical revisions, contributing with the analysis of additional empirical evidence, paying special attention to the last decade. In order to make up for some deficiencies detected in previous revisions, we deal with three aspects that can be considered the main contribution of this work. First, we analyze the business failure concept during the last decades, detecting, from identification to prediction, certain evolution. Second, we analyze the variables used in the different models, adding –to the traditional frequency analysis of the individual variables– a study of the business features proxied by the variables, obtaining rankings more in line with the classical theoretical approaches and developments on business failure. Finally, we illustrate the salient strengths and weaknesses of the recently, and scarcely analyzed methodologies, such as artificial intelligence techniques and data envelopment analyses (DEA). In addition, we incorporate a large group of empirical works on this matter published in Spain, missing in the previous revision works examined.Este trabajo analiza la evolución en el tiempo de los estudios sobre fracaso empresarial. Con carácter general, partimos de la revisión crítica realizada en la literatura previa, y aportamos un análisis de la evidencia empírica adicional, con especial atención a la obtenida durante la última década. Pero además, para subsanar algunas deficiencias detectadas en las revisiones anteriores, nos ocupamos de tres aspectos, que pueden considerarse la principal contribución de este trabajo: primero, analizamos la evolución en las últimas décadas del concepto de fracaso empresarial o fallido, detectando cierta evolución desde la identificación hacia la predicción; segundo, analizamos las variables empleadas en los modelos, aportando un estudio de los rasgos empresariales que se representan con las variables (frente al tradicional análisis de frecuencia de las propias variables individuales), siendo los resultados más acordes con los planteamientos y desarrollos teóricos clásicos sobre el fracaso empresarial; y, finalmente, destacamos los puntos fuertes y débiles de las metodologías que, por su reciente aparición, no habían sido analizadas o muy poco por revisiones anteriores: las técnicas de inteligencia artificial y el análisis envolvente de datos (DEA). Adicionalmente, integramos en la revisión el numeroso grupo de trabajos empíricos publicados en España sobre la cuestión, y que no aparecían en ninguna de las revisiones previas analizadas

TRACKING LEAD (Pb) IN THE ENVIRONMENT OF JAKARA, KANO STATE, NIGERIA

Lead is considered a toxic substance that is already available in environment and has health impacts. The objective of the present study is to track the availability of lead in the environment of Jakara, Kano State, Nigeria. Lead was tracked in water, soil, and vegetables including lettuce, spinach, and onion. Study methodology involved taking random samples from water, soil, and vegetables at Jakara. Samples were prepared and assayed by atomic absorption spectrometry. Study findings showed that the mean concentration of lead in water was 0.115±0.023 mg/l, while it was in soil 2.46 ±0.95 μg/g. The mean concentration of lead in both lettuce and spinach was the same (22.95+ 3.28 mg/kg), and in onion was 19.67 ±3.28 mg/kg . Conclusions: the present study showed that there is a lead contamination of Jakara region by heavy metal (lead). This contamination is evident in water, soil, and vegetables
