Degrees of Freedom of the 3-User Rank-Deficient MIMO Interference Channel

We provide the degrees of freedom (DoF) characterization for the 33-user MT×MRM_T\times M_R multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) interference channel (IC) with \emph{rank-deficient} channel matrices, where each transmitter is equipped with MTM_T antennas and each receiver with MRM_R antennas, and the interfering channel matrices from each transmitter to the other two receivers are of ranks D1D_1 and D2D_2, respectively. One important intermediate step for both the converse and achievability arguments is to convert the fully-connected rank-deficient channel into an equivalent partially-connected full-rank MIMO-IC by invertible linear transformations. As such, existing techniques developed for full-rank MIMO-IC can be incorporated to derive the DoF outer and inner bounds for the rank-deficient case. Our result shows that when the interfering links are weak in terms of the channel ranks, i.e., D1+D2min(MT,MR)D_1+D_2\leq \min(M_T, M_R), zero forcing is sufficient to achieve the optimal DoF. On the other hand, when D1+D2>min(MT,MR)D_1+D_2> \min(M_T, M_R), a combination of zero forcing and interference alignment is in general required for DoF optimality. The DoF characterization obtained in this paper unifies several existing results in the literature.Comment: 28 pages, 7 figures. To appear in IEEE transactions on wireless communication

    Get PDF
Artificial Intelligence (AI) has grown increasingly in the past decade. The growth and development bring up several issues for a successful AI project. The AI project requires communication across different domains, like specialists, engineers, data scientists, stakeholders, and ecosystem partners (analytic, storage, labeling, and open-source platforms). It offers numerous vital qualities to give deeper insights into user behavior and give recommendations based on the data. The AI project is hard to define, it requires more than mastery of data, and every enterprise needs guidance and a simple plan on how to use AI. This research creates a wide-view approach of different types of AI Model Canvas for companies that do projects, produce, promote and provide AI technology to organizations. We selected three canvases that represented AI, Machine Learning (ML), and Deep Learning (DL) method. We illustrate and interpret those canvas along with some case studies. We conclude our research by writing the final case report for each use case from the AI model canvas. By filling the one-page Canvas, it will help us explain what AI will provide, how it will interact with humans judgment, and how it will be used to influence decisions, how you will measure success & outcome, and the type of data needed to train, operate, and improve AI. The AI Model Canvas purposed a clear description and differentiation of the roles of stakeholders, customers, and AI strategy. This canvas also can be used in analytical and assembly projects in making new product lines

Bank XYZ is one of the regional government-owned banks which as of August 16, 2021 has a total percentage of customers who have dormant accounts reached 50.43%. This happens because currently the development of the marketing strategy used by Bank XYZ is still based on the products and services owned by Bank XYZ, not referring to customer needs. For this reason, the purpose of this research is to make a digital transformation plan that can be used by Bank XYZ in order to become a customer-centric bank using Big Data technology. The method used to carry out this research is to use the Big Data Framework for Agile Business (BDFAB). The results of this study includes mapping data requirements and Big Data technology for Bank XYZ, the impact to business processes, proposals for changes in information system architecture, planning for quality control mechanisms, to changes in organizational structure so that the benefits obtained by Bank XYZ are a more personalized marketing approach to customers, increased accuracy in offering bank products and services based on customer profiles, needs, behavior, and interests, as well as increased customer engagement and customer satisfaction

Trust of using automated teller machine (ATM) is a daunting task for many Indonesians, where the security issues associated with it, still haunting them. The paper examines the collaborative issues related to the ATM security such as: perceived usefulness and ease of use, perceived security, trust, intention to use and actual system use, by using revised technical acceptance model (TAM) according to the banking purposes. The study takes customer samples of major leading banks in Indonesia and expected to present the current situation faced by many Indonesians when dealing with the ATM security. The outcome will be valuable inputs for the policy makers of the banks to establish further strategy to cope with integrated security issues related to ATM use

Covid-19: Can Halal Food Lessen the Risks of the Next Similar Outbreak?

    Get PDF
As COVID-19 is a zoonosis virus that involves wildlife as its primary host (i.e. bat) like the previous outbreaks (SARS and MERS), it is prudent to reduce the transmission risk from wildlife consumption. Such an approach should be enforced to mitigate the risk of a future outbreak akin to COVID-19. However apparently, it is not a simple task to change such a consumption culture in a short time, though the devastating socio-economic impacts obviously have been yielded. Concerned with the current outbreak impacts, this study attempts to propose a prophylactic strategy through Halal food, an Islamic diet tradition, as a way to lessen the risk of a future outbreak akin to COVID-19. Tayyib(wholesome) principle which is often associated with Halal food can make Halal food not only “permissible” upon Islamic teaching but also “good” and “clean” to consume. As Tayyibredefines the conventional Halal food concept, it underlines more strongly on the medical facet of Halal food, i.e. food safety and health. According to Islamic teaching, Halal food encourages the consumption of domestic animals and more plant-based food. Meanwhile at the same time, it also heavily establishes the procedures of food safety and maintains the integrity of its credence status. Based on these, this study claims that more Halal food consumptions can lessen the risk of future outbreaks like COVID-19

This is the post print version of the article. The official published version can be obtained from the link - Copyright 2008 Elsevier LtdIn this Letter, we investigate the exponential synchronization problem for an array of N linearly coupled complex networks with Markovian jump and mixed time-delays. The complex network consists of m modes and the network switches from one mode to another according to a Markovian chain with known transition probability. The mixed time-delays are composed of discrete and distributed delays, both of which are mode-dependent. The nonlinearities imbedded with the complex networks are assumed to satisfy the sector condition that is more general than the commonly used Lipschitz condition. By making use of the Kronecker product and the stochastic analysis tool, we propose a novel Lyapunov–Krasovskii functional suitable for handling distributed delays and then show that the addressed synchronization problem is solvable if a set of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) are feasible. Therefore, a unified LMI approach is developed to establish sufficient conditions for the coupled complex network to be globally exponentially synchronized in the mean square. Note that the LMIs can be easily solved by using the Matlab LMI toolbox and no tuning of parameters is required. A simulation example is provided to demonstrate the usefulness of the main results obtained. This work was supported in part by the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC) of the UK under Grants BB/C506264/1 and 100/EGM17735, the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) of the UK under Grants GR/S27658/01 and EP/C524586/1, an International Joint Project sponsored by the Royal Society of the UK, the Natural Science Foundation of Jiangsu Province of China under Grant BK2007075, the National Natural Science Foundation of China under Grant 60774073, and the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation of Germany
