Evolución de chip ADN emulado con algoritmo genético en FPGA para control de navegación de un robot móvil

La apropiación del concepto de chip ADN y el uso de los dispositivos electrónicos reconfigurables, genera el chip ADN emulado electrónicamente, capaz de procesar información en paralelo y acceder contenidos en memoria por asociación.La utilización de algoritmos genéticos extiende las capacidades propuestas en el chip ADN emulado, sumándole un nivel de aprendizaje. Thyrotropin-releasing hormone receptor expression in thyroid follicular cells: a new paracrine role of C-cells?

Thyrotropin-releasing hormone (TRH) synthesized in the hypothalamus has the capability of inducing the release of thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) from the anterior pituitary, which in turn stimulates the production of thyroid hormones in the thyroid gland. Immunoreactivity for TRH and TRH-like peptides has been found in some tissues outside the nervous system, including thyroid. It has been demonstrated that thyroid C-cells express authentic TRH, affecting thyroid hormone secretion by follicular cells. Therefore, C-cells could have a paracrine role in thyroid homeostasis. If this hypothesis is true, follicular cells should express TRH receptors (TRH-Rs) for the paracrine modulation carried out by C-cells. In order to elucidate whether or not C-cell TRH production could act over follicular cells modulating thyroid function, we studied TRH-Rs expression in PC C13 follicular cells from rat thyroid, by means of immunofluorescence technique and RT-PCR analysis. We also investigated the possibility that C-cells present TRH-Rs for the autocrine control of its own TRH production. Our results showed consistent expression for both receptors, TRH-R1 and TRH-R2, in 6-23 C-cells, and only for TRH-R2 in PC C13 follicular cells. Our data provide new evidence for a novel intrathyroidal regulatory pathway of thyroid hormone secretion via paracrine/autocrine TRH signaling

Debut sexual y conocimientos sobre el uso de anticonceptivos en una población adolescente. Programa Forma Joven

Es labor importante dentro de la cartera de Atención Primaria la promoción y protección de la salud, especialmente en los sectores de población más vulnerables. Entre este colectivo se encuentran los jóvenes adolescentes en la fase educativa ESO y Bachillerato. El Programa Forma Joven pone en marcha herramientas que, a través de las enfermeras de Atención Primaria, contribuye a proteger la salud y potenciar los hábitos saludables. Gracias a este programa las enfermeras tenemos ocasión de contactar con la población juvenil y pulsar sus inquietudes y tendencias, analizando situaciones que nos pueden ayudar en nuestra práctica asistencial. Recogemos en este trabajo una serie de elementos que nos ponen en antecedentes sobre el comportamiento sexual de un grupo de jóvenes y sobre los conocimientos que tienen de los anticonceptivos habituales y de urgencia (píldora poscoital). Estos datos tienen una repercusión directa sobre nuestro trabajo en el Programa ya que nos ayudan a aportar conocimientos donde existen lagunas o a enderezar situaciones que detectamos están desviadas por desconocimiento o información erróneaIn primary care it is an important task to promote and protect health, especially among those population who are more vulnerable. In this group, there are young teens en the educative period of secondary education. Young shape program provides tools that, through nurses of primary care, helps to protect health and to promote healthy habits. Thanks to that program, nurses have the chance to establish contact with young population and deal with their worries and tendencies, analyzing actions that can help in our clinical practice. We compile in this study different elements that inform us about sexual behabiours of a group of teens and about the information that they have about usual/urgency contraceptives (morning-after pill). These data has direct impact about our work in the Program as they help us to know where there are gaps or to improve situations that are risky because of ignorance or mistaken information

Photosynthate remobilization capacity from drought-adapted common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) lines can improve yield potential of interspecific populations within the secondary gene pool

Interspecific lines obtained from crosses between common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) and other species from its secondary gene pool have a tendency for excessive vegetative growth and low grain yield. Contrariwise, drought-adapted common bean lines have been observed to produce high yields despite low shoot biomass production. This was attributed to greater remobilization of photosynthates to grain development. The objective of the present study was to investigate whether F2-families derived from crosses between an interspecific line and drought-adapted P. vulgaris lines have improved ability to remobilize greater proportion of photosynthate from shoot biomass to grain yield and subsequently obtain higher yield potential. Seven F2-progenies derived from crosses of an interspecific hybrid line of P. vulgaris × Phaseolus dumosus with seven drought-adapted lines reflecting a range of photosynthate remobilization and partitioning were evaluated under irrigated and rainfed field conditions along with their eight parent lines and one drought-tolerant check at the International Center of Tropical Agriculture (CIAT) at Palmira, Colombia. Although no single parent trait led to higher yield potential in progenies, the mean yield potential of the progenies, as well as mean yield under drought was significantly higher than yields of the interspecific parent, indicating that crosses with drought-adapted bean lines with greater plant efficiency constitute a promising breeding approach for yield improvement of interspecific crosses in both drought stressed and favorable environments
