    Los esteroides anabólicos androgénicos son análogos sintéticos químicamente modificados de la testosterona. Desde su descubrimiento, a principios del siglo XX, su uso se ha extendido enormemente en el deporte profesional, y de forma más preocupante, en los adolescentes y adultos jóvenes. Ciertos valores culturales actuales marcan una línea temática que puede desembocar en el consumo de dichas sustancias. El consumo de esteroides anabólicos representa un problema de salud pública. Los efectos secundarios se han documentado extensamente, afectando a multitud de aparatos y sistemas. Dentro de los más relevantes, podemos mencionar los efectos adversos a nivel cardiovascular, psicológico, hepático, reproductivo, neuro-cognitivo, genético y musculo-esquelético. A pesar de los hallazgos evidenciados, muchos de ellos irreversibles, son necesarios nuevos estudios que otorguen mayor conocimiento en la materia

DCLL uses PbLi as the main coolant, tritium breeder, tritium carrier, and neutron multiplier. The main structures, including the first wall, are cooled with helium. The EU program proposed for the next years will consider a DCLL version limited to 550 °C in order to allow the use of conventional materials and technologies. During the first year of EUROfusion activities, a draft design of the DCLL has been proposed. The main blanket performances were adapted to the new specifications and the CAD model of DEMO. The breeder zone has been toroidally divided into four parallel PbLi circuits, separated through stiffening grid radial walls. The PbLi flow routing has been designed to maximize the amount of thermal power extracted by flowing PbLi and to avoid the occurrence of reverse flows due to volumetric heating. Thermal hydraulics, magnetohydrodynamic and neutronics calculations have been performed for the first draft design.     Charge control in laterally coupled double quantum dots

    We investigate the electronic and optical properties of InAs double quantum dots grown on GaAs (001) and laterally aligned along the [110] crystal direction. The emission spectrum has been investigated as a function of a lateral electric field applied along the quantum dot pair mutual axis. The number of confined electrons can be controlled with the external bias leading to sharp energy shifts which we use to identify the emission from neutral and charged exciton complexes. Quantum tunnelling of these electrons is proposed to explain the reversed ordering of the trion emission lines as compared to that of excitons in our system.Comment: 4 pages, 4 figures submitted to PRB Rapid Com

    “Eysarcoris ventralis” (Hemiptera, Pentatomidae) es la principal plaga del cultivo del arroz en la provincia de Sevilla. Se presenta su dinámica poblacional en la zona y los huéspedes alternativos. “Polypogon monspeliensis” es el huésped fundamental de febrero a julio. El cultivo del arroz sólo se ve atacado por la 5ª y última generación. Ante la ausencia de sustancias activas registradas para su control en Sevilla, se plantea el manejo de la vegetación espontánea huésped como la herramienta más eficaz para reducir las poblaciones y evitar daños al cultivo.“Eysarcoris ventralis” (Hemiptera, Pentatomidae) is the main rice pest in Seville province. Its seasonal development in the area and alternative hosts are presented. “Polypogon monspeliensis” is the main host from February to July. It is only the fifth and last generation that feeds on rice plants. Due to the absence of registered active substances for its control in Sevilla, it is proposed to manage weed host plants as the most effective tool to reduce populations and avoid damage

    OTELO survey: optimal emission-line flux determination with OSIRIS/GTC

    Emission-line galaxies are important targets for understanding the chemical evolution of galaxies in the universe. Deep, narrow-band imaging surveys allow to detect and study the flux and the equivalent widths (EW) of the emission line studied. The present work has been developed within the context of the OTELO project, an emission line survey using the Tunable Filters (TF) of OSIRIS, the first generation instrument on the GTC 10.4m telescope located in La Palma, Spain, that will observe through selected atmospheric windows relatively free of sky emission lines. With a total survey area of 0.1 square degrees distributed in different fields, reaching a 5 \sigma depth of 10^-18 erg/cm^2/s and detecting objects of EW < 0.3 A, OTELO will be the deepest emission line survey to date. As part of the OTELO preparatory activities, the objective of this study is to determine the best combination of sampling and full width at half maximum (FWHM) for the OSIRIS tunable filters for deblending H\alpha from [NII] lines by analyzing the flux errors obtained. We simulated the OTELO data by convolving a complete set of synthetic HII galaxies in EW with different widths of the OSIRIS TFs. We estimated relative flux errors of the recovered H\alpha and [NII]6583 lines. We found that, for the red TF, a FWHM of 12 A and a sampling of 5 A is an optimal combination that allow deblending H\alpha from the [NII]6583 line with a flux error lower than 20%. This combination will allow estimating SFRs and metallicities using the H\alpha flux and the N2 method, respectively.Comment: 16 pages, 9 figures. Some authors added. Accepted for publication in PAS

    Desde el año 2006 se viene desarrollando en la Facultad de Educación y Humanidades de Melilla (UGR) el proyecto “Propuesta metodológica para el aprendizaje autónomo de conceptos medioambientales en la formación de maestros”, que nace con la intención de adecuar la metodología de la asignatura obligatoria Fundamentos científicos medioambientales, al sistema de enseñanza impulsado por el Espacio Europeo de Educación Superior a la vez que trata de dar respuesta a la escasez de recursos didácticos que relacionan el conocimiento del entorno local, en sus facetas ambiental y urbana, con los conocimientos que se deben trabajar en la formación inicial de los futuros maestros. Since they were discovered, at the beginning of the 20th century, they have been used extensively in professional sports, and more disturbing, in adolescents and young adults. Some current cultural values provide a thematic line that can lead to the consumption of these substances. The consumption of anabolic steroids represents a public health problem. Adverse effects have been extensively documented, affecting a multitude of systems. Among the most relevant, we can mention the adverse effects at cardiovascular, psychological, hepatic, reproductive, neuro-cognitive, genetic and musculo-skeletal.
