As competências de leitura e interpretaçâo no ensino de matemáticas

Este artigo apresenta resultados de uma investigação qualitativa que teve como objetivo identificar as dificuldades na interpretação e produção de textos matemáticos apresentadas por alunos da segunda série do Ensino Médio de uma escola da rede pública estadual do município de Viamão/RS. Os procedimentos para a coleta de dados reuniram seleção e organização de textos matemáticos a serem trabalhados pelos alunos, análise da produção desses, observações registradas em diário, questionários e registros de imagens. A análise dos dados foi realizada tendo como referência as competências e habilidades preconizadas pela Matriz do Exame Nacional do Ensino Médio (Ministério da Educação, 2009) e as Orientações Educacionais Complementares aos Parâmetros Curriculares Nacionais (Ministério da Educação, 2002). Resultados apontam para a necessidade de desenvolver e potencializar as competências de ler, interpretar e escrever matematicamente a partir da articulação da língua materna com a linguagem matemática

Physical fitness, balance and falls in older adults

Aim. Falls are the second leading cause of accidental injury and deaths worldwide. Individuals aged 65 or above have the highest rates. Falls are preventable, but the consequences of falls can lead to injuries and may result in loss of independence. The present study aims to analyse the relationship between risk of falls, physical activity level (PA level) and physical fitness among elderly practitioners of physical exercise interventions. Basic procedures. The data were collected through a demographic questionnaire; history of falls; PA level and physical fitness. Statistical analysis was performed using IBM® SPSS®, version 24.0 for Windows (p 0.05). Main findings. The study comprised 62 seniors taking part in physical exercise programmes from the community of Beja, Portugal (females n = 48; 77.4%), with the average age of 73.27 ± 5.45 years. Results. It was found that elderly people with lower levels of strength, balance and cardiorespiratory fitness are at a higher risk of falls (p<0.05). There were no correlations between the risk of falls and the PA level. Conclusion. The results highlight the need for more specific research about strength and balance interventions in older adults reporting falls, in particular, the identification of intrinsic and extrinsic risk factors for their prevention

Promoting Portuguese exports to Germany: a hand-on approach for the machinery and equipment sector

A Work Project, presented as part of the requirements for the Award of a Masters Degree in Management from the NOVA – School of Business and EconomicsThis work project had as a starting point a study developed by the consulting firm Roland Berger on how to boost the economic relations between Portugal and Germany. This paper aims to focus on a specific sector: Machinery and Equipment for a special purpose, and identify and describe concrete ways on how to increase the Portuguese export quota to Germany. The analysis results evidence that firms face different internationalization barriers depending upon their international focus. Nonetheless common barriers rely on a high emphasis on production to the detriment of sales and a lack of a cooperative mind-set among firms. A brief literature review is presented in regards to the former topic. Recommendations are suggested at three levels: governmental, sectorial and company level. At the individual company level, firms were organized in homogeneous groups depending on: (a) the willingness to export to Germany; (b) the stability of the business in the internal market, which is a proxy to assess the readiness to approach new markets in terms of production and financial health; (c) the active or passive attitude towards internationalizing

La persona humana como categoría fundamental de la educación sexual: una perspectiva fenomenológica

En este artículo discutimos los fundamentos ontológicos de la persona humana para la educación sexual. Delante de extremos materialistas mecanicistas e idealistas esencialistas, el tratamiento de esa fundamentación tiende a anular la corporeidad, de ese modo, exploramos la necesidad de una fundamentación antropológica de la sexualidad centrada en el cuerpo. Optamos metodológicamente por la fenomenología de la corporeidad en Merleau-Ponty y analizamos los aspectos concretos de la corporeidad y sociabilidad, discutiendo su apertura para la transcendencia, con los desafíos de las utopías necesarias al ejercicio de la libertad humana. Concluimos que la corporeidad no es suficiente, pero es un punto de partida necesario al estudio integral de la sexualidad humana, que permite situar la sociabilidad y desarrollar la transcendencia, sin ceder a una sexualidad sin cuerpo, como ocurre en los enfoques esencialista y mecanicista.// In this article we discuss the ontological foundations of the human person for sexual and gender education. The extremes of materialism, mechanicism, idealism and essentialism tends to annul bodiliness when approaching these foundations, thus we explore the necessity of an anthropological foundation of bodycentered sexuality. Methodologically, we made a choice for the phenomenology of bodiliness in Merleau-Ponty and analyzed the concrete aspects of bodiliness and sociableness, discussing its overture to transcendence and its challenges of the necessary utopias to the exercise of human freedom. We conclude that bodiliness is not a sufficient condition, but it is a necessary condition for the integral study of human sexuality, which allows us to situate sociableness and develop transcendence. This prevents a study of sexuality without body, as it occurs in the essentialist and mechanistic approaches

Formación docente en química y ambientación curricular : estudio de caso en una institución de enseñanza superior brasileña

Actualmente existe consenso en torno a la afirmación de que las Instituciones de Enseñanza Superior (IES) deben promover un proceso de ambientación curricular que posibilite pensar la sostenibilidad del planeta, por medio de un proyecto integrador del conocimiento. En ese sentido, este trabajo relata la investigación del modo por el cual la dimensión ambiental se inserta en la formación inicial de profesores de Química de una universidad pública brasileña, o sea, la forma por la cual esta dimensión se relaciona con las temáticas científica, tecnológica, económica y social. Este análisis de las representaciones de los actores sociales involucrados en un curso real toma como base conceptos de la sociología y de la filosofía para caracterizar los comportamientos y las formas de pensar las cuestiones ambientales, presentes en los currículos y vividas en su cotidianidad.Nowadays it is consensus that institutions of tertiary education should promote the idea of the process of curricular environmentalization, which enables us to think about the sustainability of our planet, by means of an integrating project of knowledge. In this sense, the work investigates how the environmental dimension/issue is included in the under graduation course of future Chemistry teachers of public universities in Brazil, or rather, how this dimension is related to scientific, technological, economic and social issues. An analysis of the presentations of people from the social actors, involved in an ongoing course, is based on sociological and philosophical concepts to characterize the behaviour and ways of thinking, dealing with present environmental questions in the curricula, which are experienced in every-day life

O uso de uma Wiki no desenvolvimento de competências de escrita no 1º CEB

Mestrado em Multimédia em EducaçãoEste estudo, elaborado a partir de um projecto de intervenção com uma turma do 1.º Ciclo do Ensino Básico (CEB), aborda a temática do ensino da escrita (dimensão textual) com recurso às TIC, mais concretamente com a utilização de uma ferramenta Web 2.0 – Wiki. O estudo tem por base pressupostos teóricos que fundamentam o desenvolvimento de competências para o século XXI e de diferentes literacias, nomeadamente a literacia digital. Apresenta-se a escrita e as competências tecnológicas como competências essenciais para a vida em sociedade e para o sucesso dos indivíduos. Com base no pressuposto de que a utilização de uma Wiki poderá concorrer para o desenvolvimento de competências de escrita no 1.º Ciclo do Ensino Básico (CEB), foram concebidas, implementadas e avaliadas diferentes actividades de produção textual em torno da escrita colaborativa de uma fábula. Trata-se de um estudo de cruzamento entre uma metodologia de estudo de caso e a investigação-acção, em sala de aula do 1.º CEB. Os dados a analisar foram recolhidos através de questionários, observação participante e registos escritos dos alunos (produções textuais), sendo posteriormente analisados segundo categorias por nós estabelecidas. Os resultados mostram que os alunos, de uma forma geral, tomaram consciência da importância das diferentes fases do processo de escrita de um texto (narrativo), tendo melhorado as suas produções iniciais com recurso a uma Wiki. ABSTRACT: This study, drawn from an intervention project with a class of one Elementary School, addresses the topic of teaching writing using ICT, and specifically the use of a tool Web 2.0 - Wiki. The study is based on theoretical assumptions that underline the development of skills for the twenty-first century and different literacies, including digital literacy. It presents the writing and technological skills as key competences for life in society and to the success of individuals. Based on the assumption that the use of a Wiki will contribute to the development of skills in writing at the Elementary School were designed, implemented and evaluated different production activities around the text written in a collaborative fable. This is a study of cross between a methodology of case study and action research in a classroom of the Elementary School. The test data were collected through questionnaires, participant observation and written records of students (textual productions), and subsequently analyzed according to categories established by us. The results show that students in general, have realized the importance of the different stages of writing a text (narrative), has improved the initial productions using a Wiki

HTLV-II in blood donors at the Blood Center Net of Ceará – HEMOCE

SummaryObjectiveTo identify HTLV-II prevalence in blood donors at the Blood Center Net of Ceará (Hemorrede do Ceará - HEMOCE)and epidemiological aspects of positive cases.MethodsCases considered positive were surveyed from data bases through the immunoenzymatic method ELISA and confirmed by Western Blot from 2001 to 2008. In this period, 679,610 blood samples from voluntary donors were tested.ResultsFrom all donors, 164 samples were actually positive in both tests; of these, 33 (20.1%) were typed as HTLV-II, showing a prevalence of 0.006%. In positive cases, a mean age 28.2 years, and a predominantly male gender (54.5%) were observed, the race was mixed in 78.8%, most donors had Fortaleza as hometown (72.7%), with 51.5% being married/consensual union, and 33.3% reported to have completed high school education.ConclusionAlthough HTLV-II infection is low, its presence is universal, being similar in males and females mostly in urban centers. The need of preventive measures as a way of avoiding infection spread is stressed

Dificuldades e oportunidades da produção de orgânicos no Distrito Federal

Monografia (graduação)—Universidade de Brasília, Faculdade UnB Planaltina, 2011.Atualmente, os alimentos recebem altas quantidades de produtos tóxicos e passam por vários processos de transformação até chegar ao consumidor gerando um distanciamento entre este e o agricultor. A aceitação e o aumento da demanda por produtos decorrem de uma tomada de consciência por parte de consumidores quanto aos malefícios que os resíduos de agrotóxicos e adubos químicos podem ter sobre a saúde. A agricultura orgânica não é apenas como um sistema de produção que substitui agrotóxico e adubos químicos por adubo orgânico. Para o desenvolvimento deste trabalho o primeiro passo dado foi a pesquisa bibliográfica realizada a partir de material já publicado (artigos periódicos e material disponibilizado na internet) para construir o histórico da produção orgânica e seus processos de certificação. Posteriormente foi efetuada uma visita à propriedade Encanto Rural com o objetivo de verificar na prática a situação atual da produção de orgânicos na região do Distrito Federal
