Women's participation in Cervantine criticism at the beginning of the twentieth century (1905-1906) has barely received recognition. This paper analyses the different perspectives women authors used to approach both Cervantes and his work. Strict literary criticism coexists with the exploration of Don Quixote's main characters in the philosophical and literary essays of María Lejárraga, Matilde Ras, Concha Espina and Carmen de Burgos. The authors studied include intheirs texts their social concerns and feminist ideology and give their opinion about key political and intellectual debates affecting society at the beginning of the twentieth century
Beaches as a place of leisure or even as a valuable habitat for ecological conservation can get only a long term sustainable management when they are considered as a complex habitat, that is taking into consideration aspects like vegetation and the diversity of vascular flora. Plants are a keystone element in their characterization with a strong influence on geomorphological configuration and conservation. In Minorca occur a wide range of situations and types of beaches, thus it can serve as a case study. In this paper is shown a general explanation of the vegetation that characterizes these habitats, going from those with a nearly natural situation to other with a high degree of alteration, even that have been restored recently. Altogether shows a whole vision of human alteration consequences and allows exposing a few conclusions and recommendation for a sustainable management

The First Case of Bovine Astrovirus-Associated Encephalitis in the Southern Hemisphere (Uruguay), Uncovers Evidence of Viral Introduction to the Americas From Europe.
Astrovirus species members of the Mamastrovirus genus (family Astroviridae) have been increasingly recognized as neuroinvasive pathogens in various mammals, including humans, mink, cattle, sheep, and pigs. While cases of astrovirus-associated encephalitis have been reported in North America, Europe, and Asia, their presence has never been documented in the Southern hemisphere. This paper describes a case of astrovirus-associated encephalitis in cattle in Uruguay that broadens the geographic distribution and genetic diversity of neuroinvasive astroviruses and provides phylogeographic evidence of viral introduction to the Americas from Europe. A 22-month-old Holstein steer from a farm in Colonia Department, Uruguay developed progressive neurological signs over a 3-days period before dying. Histopathological examination of the brain and proximal cervical spinal cord revealed disseminated, moderate to severe lymphocytic, histiocytic, and plasmacytic poliomeningoencephalomyelitis with neuronal necrosis. A Mamastrovirus strain in the CH13/NeuroS1 clade, that we called bovine astrovirus (BoAstV)-Neuro-Uy, was identified by reverse transcriptase PCR followed by nearly complete genome sequencing. Additionally, BoAstV was detected intralesionally in the brain by chromogenic RNA in situ hybridization within neuronal perikarya, axons and dendrites. Phylogenetic analysis of BoAstV-Neuro-Uy revealed a close relationship to neurotropic BoAstVs within the Virginia/Human-Mink-Ovine clade, which contains a growing cadre of neuroinvasive astroviruses. Analyzing the complete coding region of neuroinvasive BoAstVs sequences available in GenBank, we estimated an evolutionary rate of 4.27 × 10-4 (95% HPD 2.19-6.46 × 10-4) nucleotide substitutions/site/year. Phylogeographic analysis suggests that the common viral ancestor circulated in Europe between 1794-1940, and was introduced in Uruguay between 1849-1967, to later spread to North America and Japan

Interactions, star formation and extended nebulae in SDSS type 2 quasars at 0.3<~ z <~ 0.6
We present long-slit spectroscopy and imaging data obtained with FORS2 on the
Very Large Telescope of 13 optically selected type 2 quasars at z~0.3-0.6 from
the original sample of Zakamska et al. (2003). The sample is likely to be
affected by different selection biases. We investigate the evidence for: a)
mergers/interactions b) star formation activity in the neighborhood of the
quasars and c) extended emission line regions and their nature. Evidence for
mergers/interactions is found in 5/13 objects. This is a lower limit for our
sample, given the shallowness of most of our continuum images. Although AGN
photoionization cannot be totally discarded, line ratios consistent with
stellar photoionization are found in general in companion galaxies/knots/nuclei
near these same objects. On the contrary, the gas in the neighborhood of the
quasar nucleus shows line ratios inconsistent with HII galaxies and typical of
AGN photoionized nebulae. A natural scenario to explain the observations is
that star formation is ongoing in companion galaxies/knots/nuclei, possibly
triggered by the interactions. These systems are, therefore, composite in their
emission line properties showing a combination of AGN and star formation
features.
Extended emission line regions (EELRs) have been found in 7/13 objects,
although this fraction might be higher if a complete spatial coverage around
the quasars was performed. The sizes vary between few and up to 64 kpc. In
general, the EELRs apparently consist of an extended nebula associated with the
quasar. In at least one case the EELR is associated with ionized tidal
features.Comment: Accepted for publication in MNRAS. 19 pages, 30 figure
Analysis and Diagnosis of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in a Galician Association of Entrepreneurs
As conclusións permiten determinar cales son os focos en termos de RSE que a organización pode mellorar no futuro.[Abstract] Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is becoming one of the most important fields in a company, as risk prevention and quality were years ago. However, there are not enough studies about non-profit organizations. This is the main reason why the present study will analyse the CSR in a Galician association of entrepreneurs. In this regard, several aspects can be considered: legal issues, stakeholders (importance-influence matrix and impactprobability matrix), insight and quantitative study and, finally, the SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats) analysis. Conclusions determine where the focus in CSR terms should be in the future
