A modified multiview video streaming system using 3-tier architecture

    Get PDF
In this paper, we present a modified inter-view prediction Multiview Video Coding (MVC) scheme from the perspective of viewer's interactivity. When a viewer requests some view(s), our scheme leads to lower transmission bit-rate. We develop an interactive multiview video streaming system exploiting that modified MVC scheme. Conventional interactive multiview video systems require high bandwidth due to redundant data being transferred. With real data test sequences, clear improvements are shown using the proposed interactive multiview video system compared to competing ones in terms of the average transmission bit-rate and storage size of the decoded (i.e., transferred) data with comparable rate-distortion

The image forgery process can be simply defined as inserting some objects of different sizes to vanish some structures or scenes. Satellite images can be forged in many ways, such as copy-paste, copy-move, and splicing processes. Recent approaches present a generative adversarial network (GAN) as an effective method for identifying the presence of spliced forgeries and identifying their locations with a higher detection accuracy of large- and medium-sized forgeries. However, such recent approaches clearly show limited detection accuracy of small-sized forgeries. Accordingly, the localization step of such small-sized forgeries is negatively impacted. In this paper, two different approaches for detecting and localizing small-sized forgeries in satellite images are proposed. The first approach is inspired by a recently presented GAN-based approach and is modified to an enhanced version. The experimental results manifest that the detection accuracy of the first proposed approach noticeably increased to 86% compared to its inspiring one with 79% for the small-sized forgeries. Whereas, the second proposed approach uses a different design of a CNN-based discriminator to significantly enhance the detection accuracy to 94%, using the same dataset obtained from NASA and the US Geological Survey (USGS) for validation and testing. Furthermore, the results show a comparable detection accuracy in large- and medium-sized forgeries using the two proposed approaches compared to the competing ones. This study can be applied in the forensic field, with clear discrimination between the forged and pristine images

Cold-formed steel (CFS) have been widely used in different structural systems in residential and non-residential construction, especially roof structures due to many advantages. Firstly, no heat is used to form the sections unlike hot-rolled steel. Secondly, several steel thicknesses are offered to accommodate a wide range of structural and non-structural purposes. Researchers have recently searched in the usage of CFS sections, and their research showed an improvement in stiffness and strength of these sections. Therefore, the purpose of this search is to analyze and conduct the behaviour of lipped single and double channel back-to-back CFS sections with edge-stiffened hole. The built-up section attached with self-taping screws under axial compression load. The main focus of this search is to enhance comprehension of the axial behaviour of the simply supported lipped CFS channel sections by analyzing and conducting the behaviour of pinned end condition CFS columns under the effect of static displacement loading till failure and to conduct the verification of the previous finite element modelling. Additionally, this research, focus on determining how the properties of section affect the behaviour and axial strength of lipped CFS column sections and to develop the fundamental parameters and the numerical criteria needed for the non-linear analysis to model lipped CFS column sections

Background: The aim of this study was to compare the diagnostic effectiveness of saline infusion sonohysterography (SIS) with hysteroscopy, as a gold standard diagnostic method, in detecting endometrial pathology in premenopausal women with abnormal uterine bleeding. Methods: A prospective study was conducted at Al-Azhar University hospital, Assiut, Egypt. Fifty patients were recruited from the gynecological outpatient clinic complaining of abnormal uterine bleeding. They were evaluated by SIS and compared with hysteroscopic examination for each. Results: The mean age of patients was 45.56±3.48 years. All the intracavitary lesions; endometrial polyps, submucous fibroids and hyperplastic endometrium were equally detected by both methods. Diagnostic accuracy of SIS in comparison with hysteroscopy was 76% with sensitivity 80%, specificity 72%.Conclusions: SIS is a reliable and accurate method for evaluation of the uterine cavity. It can be a good alternative technique for the evaluation of uterine cavity abnormalities where hysteroscopy is not available

BACKGROUND: Despite recent advances in restorative dentistry adhesive restorations may cause postoperative sensitivity which leads to restoration failure. AIM: This study aimed to compare and evaluate the incremental and bulk fill resin Composite postoperative sensitivity in class II posterior restorations bonded with two adhesive systems (self-etch and etch-and-rinse). METHODS: Sixty patients were randomly selected, their age range from twenty-five to forty years old, divided into two groups according to the packing technique of resin composite material; incremental Tetric Evoceram and Tetric Evoceram bulk-fill resin composite. Thirty patients (n = 30) for incremental Tetric Evoceram resin composite restorations and according to the adhesive systems used they were equally divided (n = 15 teeth).Thirty patients (n = 30) for Tetric Evoceram bulk-fill resin composite restorations and according to the adhesive systems used (etch and rinse or self-etch), they were equally divided (n = 15 teeth). Post-operative pain assessed at 24 hours, 1 week and 1 month using the Visual Analog Scale Score (VAS). Each patient was instructed to put a mark on the VAS line at home to point out the intensity of pain at each assessment period. The problem of measuring the pain that pain tolerance of individuals may be different from the others. This may be due to different reasons, and it is not always because of a problem in the restoration RESULTS: After 1 day, 1 week as well as 1 month, no statistically significant disagreement between the two resin composite types using self-etch adhesive strategy and total-etch adhesive strategy. Also, when the two adhesive systems were compared using Bulk Fill resin composite and incremental Nano resin composite no statistically significant disagreement between the two adhesive systems after 1 day, 1 week as well as 1 month. CONCLUSION: The post-operative hypersensitivity is related to many factors as the procedure of cavity preparation, adhesive approach, and type of resin composite used and placement technique of the resin composite

Background: MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are endogenous ubiquitous non-coding single-stranded (ss) RNA transcripts, frequently of 19–25 nucleotides in length. They alter the differentiation, growth, apoptosis and proliferation of cells by interfering with protein synthesis by either inducing mRNA degradation or repressing translation. miRNAs are expressed in many diseases and different cancers such as diabetes and have the potential to become new kinds of diagnostic markers. miRNA-192 is highly expressed in kidney especially in renal cortex. Many studies have confirmed that miRNA-192 played important roles in the fibrosis of kidney and liver. Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the use of microRNA-192 as early predictor in cases of diabetic nephropathy. Patients and methods: This study was conducted on volunteers from Internal Medicine Department - Suez Canal Authority Hospitals. 80 subjects were divided into: 60 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) who were further subdivided into (normal albuminuria group (n= 20), microalbuminuria group (n= 20), and macroalbuminuria group (n=20)), and 20 healthy control group. MicroRNA-192 was quantified in blood using Reverse Transcription TaqMan MicroRNA Assay. Results: There was a statistical significance decrease in micro RNA-192 level in macro-albuminuria group comparedto other groups and also in microalbuminuria group compared to normal albuminuria group and healthy control group. Conclusions: We concluded that there is a possible role of miRNA-192 in the pathogenesis and progression of diabetic kidney disease in humans. Also, blood miRNA-192 may be a useful biomarker for predicting the development and the stage of diabetic kidney disease

The rapid development of technology led to the need to keep pace with it, especially in the field of image processing, because of its importance in the need to get better results. In this paper, new discrete Chebyshev wavelet transforms (DChWT) derived from Chebyshev polynomials (ChP) were proposed and characterized. In terms of orthogonality and approximation (convergence) in the field of mathematics, (ChP) were qualified to transform into discrete wavelets called (DChWT), depending on the mother function with operators (s, r), and were used in image processing to analyze them in the low filter and the high filter so that the image is analyzed into coefficients. Proximity and detail coefficients, which lead to dividing the image into four parts, low left (LL), in which the proximity coefficients are concentrated while the rest of the parts are centered on the detail coefficients, which are high left (HL), low right (LR), and high right (HR), and image compression through the new filter, which has proven its efficiency at level (8) in our results. The results of the proposed wavelets in this work were reached in calculating quality standards in the image obtained after the compression process after comparing them with the results obtained using the standard wavelet used in HaarSymlet 2, Conflict 2, and Daubecheis 2. The most important of these standards is a mean square error (MSE), peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR), bit per pixel (BPP), compression ratio (CR), and table one. In this paper, the efficiency of the proposed new wavelets is explained after adding it to MATLAB and according to a specific program to drop in with the basic wavelets to take on their role in important tasks in the image processing area, like artificial intelligenc
