Aportaciones al conocimiento de la flora de Córdoba. Algunas especies interesantes de la cuenca hidrográfica del río Bembézar

Se incluyen en este trabajo las citas de 47 taxones en el área que comprende la cuenca hidrográfica del río Bembézar, parte de las cuales constituyen novedades para la provincia de Córdoba y algunas para Andalucía Occidental. Las citas se acompañan de comentarios bibliográficos acerca de la corología de dichos taxones.In this paper the records of 47 taxa from the bassim of the Bembézar river in Cordoba are included. Most of them are new for the Flora of Córdoba and for Wester Andalucia. Chorological and bibliographical remarks about the plants are also included

An optimization tool to design the field of a Solar Power Tower plant allowing heliostats of different sizes

The design of a Solar Power Tower plant involves the optimization of the heliostat field layout. Fields are usually designed to have all heliostats of identical size. Although the use of a single heliostat size has been questioned in the literature, there are no tools to design fields with heliostats of several sizes at the same time. In this paper, the problem of optimizing the heliostat field layout of a system with heliostats of different sizes is addressed. We present an optimization tool to design solar plants allowing two heliostat sizes. Asymmetric coupling between two quantum emitters

We study a prototypical model of two coupled two-level systems, where the competition between coherent and dissipative coupling gives rise to a rich phenomenology. In particular, we analyze the case of asymmetric coupling, as well as the limiting case of chiral (or one-way) coupling. We investigate various quantum optical properties of the system, including its steady-state populations, power spectrum, and second-order correlation functions, and outline the characteristic features which emerge in each quantity as one sweeps through the nontrivial landscape of effective complex couplings. Most importantly, we reveal instances of population trapping, unexpected spectral features, and strong emission correlations

Streptococcus parasanguinis: new pathogen associated with asymptomatic mastitis in sheep.

We describe two unusual cases in sheep of subclinical mastitis caused by Streptococcus parasanguinis. This bacterium has been associated with the development of experimental endocarditis; its presence at relatively high concentrations in apparently healthy sheep milk may pose a health risk in persons with predisposing heart lesions

Resonance fluorescence of two asymmetrically pumped and coupled two-level systems

Available from the American Physical Society via the DOI in this recordWe study a driven-dissipative duo of two-level systems in an open quantum systems approach, modeling a pair of atoms or (more generally) meta-atoms. Allowing for complex-valued couplings in the setup, which are of both a coherent and incoherent character, gives rise to a diverse coupling landscape. We consider several points on this landscape, for example where the coupling between the two coupled two-level systems is dominated by coherent, incoherent, unsymmetrical, and even unidirectional interactions. Traversing the coupling terrain leads to remarkable features in the populations of the pair, correlations, and optical spectra.
