Single spin asymmetries in hadron-hadron collisions
We study weighted azimuthal single spin asymmetries in hadron-hadron
scattering using the diagrammatic approach at leading order and assuming
factorization. The effects of the intrinsic transverse momenta of the partons
are taken into account. We show that the way in which -odd functions, such
as the Sivers function, appear in these processes does not merely involve a
sign flip when compared with semi-inclusive deep inelastic scattering, such as
in the case of the Drell-Yan process. Expressions for the weighted scattering
cross sections in terms of distribution and fragmentation functions folded with
hard cross sections are obtained by introducing modified hard cross sections,

Weighted azimuthal asymmetries in a diquark spectator model
We analytically calculate weighted azimuthal asymmetries in semi-inclusive
lepton-nucleon deep-inelastic scattering and Drell-Yan processes, using
transverse-momentum-dependent partonic densities obtained in a diquark
spectator model. We compare the asymmetries with available preliminary
experimental data, in particular for the Collins and the Sivers effect. We make

The vascular flora of the Marine Protected Area of "Capo Carbonara" (SE-Sardinia)
This study aims at presenting an updated inventory of the vascular flora of the Capo Carbonara Marine Protected Area, including the Sites of Community Importance “Isola dei Cavoli, Serpentara, Punta Molentis e Campulongu” and partially of “Costa di Cagliari”, in Sardinia (Italy). A total of 653 taxa are reported, 84% of which are native (5% endemics) and 16% non-native (10%
neophytes, 6% archaeophytes). The native component includes 406 species, 135 subspecies, two variety and one hybrid, belonging to 75 families and 313 genera. The non-native taxa are 94 species, 13 subspecies, one variety and one hybrid, belonging to 40 families and 81 genera. Life-form analysis of native species revealed a prevalence of therophytes (49%) followed by hemicryptophytes (21%), geophytes (14%) and chamaephytes (7%). Therophytes (33%) fol lowed by phanerophytes (32%) are prevalent among the non-native taxa. Biogeographically,
among native species, the Mediterranean element is largely prevailing (81%), mainly consisting of Circum-Mediterranean (39%) and Euro-Mediterranean (27%) taxa, while the American ele ment (35%) prevails over the Mediterranean species (29%) among the non-native taxa. Among endemics, the Sardo-Corsican taxa are dominant (55%), followed by Sardo-Corsican-Tuscan Archipelago (14%) and Sardinian (10%) taxa
BAT2 and BAT3 polymorphisms as novel genetic risk factors for rejection after HLA-related SCT.
The genetic background of donor and recipient is an important factor determining the outcome of allogeneic hematopoietic SCT (allo-HSCT). We applied whole-genome analysis to investigate genetic variants - other than HLA class I and II - associated with negative outcome after HLA-identical sibling allo-HSCT in a cohort of 110 β-Thalassemic patients. We identified two single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in BAT2 (A/G) and BAT3 (T/C) genes, SNP rs11538264 and SNP rs10484558, both located in the HLA class III region, in strong linkage disequilibrium between each other (R2 =0.92). When considered as single SNP, none of them reached a significant association with graft rejection (nominal P<0.00001 for BAT2 SNP rs11538264, and P<0.0001 for BAT3 SNP rs10484558), whereas the BAT2/BAT3 A/C haplotype was present at significantly higher frequency in patients who rejected as compared to those with functional graft (30.0% vs 2.6%, nominal P=1.15 × 10-8; and adjusted P=0.0071). The BAT2/BAT3 polymorphisms and specifically the A/C haplotype may represent a novel immunogenetic factor associated with graft rejection in patients undergoing allo-HSCT
Azimuthal and Single Spin Asymmetries in Hard Scattering Processes
In this article we review the present understanding of azimuthal and single
spin asymmetries for inclusive and semi-inclusive particle production in
unpolarized and polarized hadronic collisions at high energy and moderately
large transverse momentum. After summarizing the experimental information
available, we discuss and compare the main theoretical approaches formulated in
the framework of perturbative QCD. We then present in some detail a
generalization of the parton model with inclusion of spin and intrinsic
transverse momentum effects. In this context, we extensively discuss the
phenomenology of azimuthal and single spin asymmetries for several processes in
different kinematical configurations. A comparison with the predictions of
other approaches, when available, is also given. We finally emphasize some
relevant open points and challenges for future theoretical and experimental

Left-right asymmetry for pion and kaon production in the semi-inclusive deep inelastic scattering process
We analyze the left-right asymmetry in the semi-inclusive deep inelastic
scattering (SIDIS) process without introducing any weighting functions. With
the current theoretical understanding, we find that the Sivers effect plays a
key role in our analysis. We use the latest parametrization of the Sivers and
fragmentation functions to reanalyze the production process and find
that the results are sensitive to the parametrization. We also extend our
calculation on the production, which can help us know more about the
Sivers distribution of the sea quarks and the unfavored fragmentation
processes. HERMES kinematics with a proton target, COMPASS kinematics with a
proton, deuteron, and neutron target (the information on the neutron target can
be effectively extracted from the He target), and JLab kinematics (both 6

Universality of T-odd effects in single spin and azimuthal asymmetries
We analyze the transverse momentum dependent distribution and fragmentation
functions in space-like and time-like hard processes involving at least two
hadrons, in particular 1-particle inclusive leptoproduction, the Drell-Yan
process and two-particle inclusive hadron production in electron-positron
annihilation. As is well-known, transverse momentum dependence allows for the
appearance of unsuppressed single spin azimuthal asymmetries, such as Sivers
and Collins asymmetries. Recently, Belitsky, Ji and Yuan obtained fully color
gauge invariant expressions for the relevant matrix elements appearing in these
asymmetries at leading order in an expansion in the inverse hard scale. We
rederive these results and extend them to observables at the next order in this
expansion. We observe that at leading order one retains a probability
interpretation, contrary to a claim in the literature and show the direct
relation between the Sivers effect in single spin asymmetries and the
Qiu-Sterman mechanism. We also study fragmentation functions, where the process
dependent gauge link structure of the correlators is not the only source of

Unpolarized transverse momentum distributions from a global fit of Drell-Yan and semi-inclusive deep-inelastic scattering data
We present an extraction of unpolarized transverse-momentum-dependent parton distribution and fragmentation functions based on more than two thousand data points from several experiments for two different processes: semi-inclusive deep-inelastic scattering and Drell-Yan production. The baseline analysis is performed using the Monte Carlo replica method and resumming large logarithms at (NLL)-L-3 accuracy. The resulting description of the data is very good (chi(2)/N-dat = 1.06). For semi-inclusive deep-inelastic scattering, predictions for multiplicities are normalized by factors that cure the discrepancy with data introduced by higher-order perturbative corrections
New national and regional Annex I Habitat records: from # 21 to #25
New Italian data on the distribution of the Annex I Habitats 3170*, 6110*, 91E0*, 9320, 9330 are reported in this contribution. Specifically, one new occurrence in Natura 2000 sites is presented and six new cells are added in the European Environment Agency 10 km Ă— 10 km reference grid. The new data refer to the Italian administrative regions of Sardinia, Sicily and Umbria
