Phenomenology of Transverse Momentum Dependent Parton Densities

This talk provides a short overview of the phenomenology of transverse momentum depedent distribution and fragmention functions, focussing on the most recent phenomenological developments in the study of their scale evolution and energy depedence.Comment: 9 pages, 6 figures, talk presented at the International Workshop QCD Evolution 2013, May 6-10, 2013, Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility, Newport News, V

The Jigsaw Puzzle of Scalar Mesons

This is a brief overview of light scalar meson spectroscopy, addressing longstanding problems, recent developments and future perspectives. In particular, a new comprehensive data analysis is introduced which will help to unravel the structure of the f_0(980).Comment: 3 pages, 1 postscript figure, to appear in the conference Proceedings of "Quark Confinement and the Hadron Spectrum IV", Villasimius (Italy), Sept. 21-25, 200

Transverse Momentum Dependent Partonic Distribution and Fragmentation Functions

Our knowledge on the three-dimensional momentum structure of hadrons is encoded in the Transverse Momentum Dependent partonic distribution and fragmentation functions (TMDs). A brief and updated review of the TMDs and of the processes in which they might play a role is presented.Comment: 5 pages, two figures. To appear in the Proceedings of the 19th Particles & Nuclei International Conference (PANIC 2011), July 24th--29th, 2011, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, MA, US

Azimuthal Spin Asymmetries in Semi-Inclusive Production from Positron-Proton Scattering

    Get PDF
The recent measurements of azimuthal single spin asymmetries by the HERMES collaboration at DESY may shed some light on presently unknown fragmentation and distribution functions. We present a study of such functions and give some estimates of weighted integrals directly related to those measurements.Comment: 10 pages, 5 figures, comments added, figures changed, revised version to be published on Phys. Lett.

    Perspectives in Polarized Leptoproduction

    Get PDF
We discuss specific observables that can be measured in deep inelastic leptoproduction in the case of 1-particle inclusive measurements, namely azimuthal asymmetries and power-suppressed (higher twist) corrections. These quantities contain information on the intrinsic transverse momentum of partons, with close connection to the gluon dynamics in hadrons.Comment: 10 pages with figures, LaTex, uses espcrc1.sty and epsfig.sty. Invited talk at the workshop on The Structure of the Nucleon (NUCLEON99), Frascati, June 7-9, 199

Phenomenology of Sivers Effect with TMD Evolution

Following the TMD evolution scheme recently proposed for the unpolarized and the Sivers distribution function, we propose a simple strategy to take into account this TMD Q^2 dependence in our phenomenological extraction of the Sivers function from SIDIS data. New results are presented and possible future applications are discussed.Comment: Contribution to the Proceedings of the XX International Workshop on Deep-Inelastic Scattering and related subjects (DIS2012), 26-30 March 2012, Bonn, Germany.
