Developing information literacy for high school students through essay writing
U cilju programa informacijskog opismenjavanja, učenici uče kako pronaći informacije, kako ih vrednovati i kako ih koristiti. Information literacy occurs with the development of information and communication technologies. Predictions for the 21cm-galaxy cross-power spectrum observable with SKA and future galaxy surveys
In this paper, we use radiative transfer+N-body simulations to explore the feasibility of measurements of cross-correlations between the 21-cm field observed by the Square Kilometre Array (SKA) and high-z Lyman α emitters (LAEs) detected in galaxy surveys with the Subaru Hyper Suprime-Cam (HSC), Subaru Prime Focus Spectrograph (PFS), and Wide Field Infrared Survey Telescope (WFIRST). 21cm-LAE cross-correlations are in fact a powerful probe of the epoch of reionization as they are expected to provide precious information on the progress of reionization and the typical scale of ionized regions at different redshifts. The next generation observations with SKA will have a noise level much lower than those with its precursor radio facilities, introducing a significant improvement in the measurement of the cross-correlations. We find that an SKA-HSC/PFS observation will allow to investigate scales below ̃10 and ̃60 h-1 Mpc at z = 7.3 and 6.6, respectively. WFIRST will allow to access also higher redshifts, as it is expected to observe spectroscopically ̃900 LAEs per deg2 and unit redshift in the range 7.5 ≤ z ≤ 8.5. Because of the reduction of the shot noise compared to HSC and PFS, observations with WFIRST will result in more precise cross- correlations and increased observable scales
Synthesis and Characterization of MnCo2O4 Porous Spinel Oxide
This work presents an investigation on spinel structured material that consist of Mn(II) and Co(II) combined in the formula MnCo2O4, where Mn(II) occupies tetrahedral and Co(II) octahedral sites of crystal structure. Such spinel structured material, MnCo2O4 was synthesized by citrate-gel combustion (CGC) technique, carefully chosen as the method of synthesis is very important for producing a material

DETERMINATION OF CALCIUM CONTENT IN DIETARY SUPPLEMENTS
Calcium is a macro element that is very important for the human body: its content and circulation in the body is large, it serves as the electrolyte, it has a building role and participates in the process of metabolism. The European Union, the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Ministry of Food and Drug (Food and Drug Administration, FDA) gave the RDA (Recommended Dietary Allowances,) for this macro element. The absorption and bioavailability of the calcium may vary depending on a number of factors, and because all of the foregoing it is consumed by means of different supplements.
The aim of this study was to determine the content of calcium in the various diet products using the volumetric analytical method of analysis. Supplements that were analyzed are divided into two groups. The first group consists supplements in which the calcium is present in the form of different chemical compounds, and the second group consists of supplements of a number of different manufacturers in which the calcium is in the form of calcium carbonate.
Calcium content, obtained by applying the method above, which ranged from 95.11% to 99.80% compared to the theoretical value. Results were analyzed using the t-test, while not producing a statistically significant difference
Predictions for the 21 cm-galaxy cross-power spectrum observable with LOFAR and Subaru
The 21 cm-galaxy cross-power spectrum is expected to be one of the promising probes of the Epoch of Reionization (EoR), as it could offer information about the progress of reionization and the typical scale of ionized regions at different redshifts. With upcoming observations of 21 cm emission from the EoR with the Low Frequency Array (LOFAR), and of high-redshift Ly α emitters with Subaru's Hyper Suprime-Cam (HSC), we investigate the observability of such cross-power spectrum with these two instruments, which are both planning to observe the ELAIS-N1 field at z = 6.6. In this paper, we use N-body + radiative transfer (both for continuum and Ly α photons) simulations at redshift 6.68, 7.06 and 7.3 to compute the 3D theoretical 21 cm-galaxy cross-power spectrum and cross-correlation function, as well as to predict the 2D 21 cm-galaxy cross-power spectrum and cross-correlation function expected to be observed by LOFAR and HSC. Once noise and projection effects are accounted for, our predictions of the 21 cm-galaxy cross-power spectrum show clear anti-correlation on scales larger than ∼60 h−1 Mpc (corresponding to k ∼ 0.1 h Mpc−1), with levels of significance p = 0.003 at z = 6.6 and p = 0.08 at z = 7.3. On smaller scales, instead, the signal is completely contaminated. On the other hand, our 21 cm-galaxy cross-correlation function is strongly contaminated by noise on all scales, since the noise is no longer being separated by its k modes
Thermo-Analytical and Compatibility Study with Mechanistic Explanation of Degradation Kinetics of Ambroxol Hydrochloride Tablets under Non-Isothermal Conditions
Ambroxol hydrochloride (AMB), used as a broncho secretolytic and an expectorant drug, is a semi-synthetic derivative of vasicine obtained from the Indian shrub Adhatoda vasica. It is a metabolic product of bromhexine. The paper provides comprehensive and detailed research on ambroxol hydrochloride, gives information on thermal stability, the mechanism of AMB degradation, and data of practical interest for optimization of formulation that contains AMB as an active compound. Investigation on pure AMB and in commercial formulation Flavamed® tablet (FT), which contains AMB as an active compound, was performed systematically using thermal and spectroscopic methods, along with a sophisticated and practical statistical approach. AMB proved to be a heat-stable and humidity-sensitive drug. For its successful formulation, special attention should be addressed to excipients since it was found that polyvinyl pyrrolidone and Mg stearate affect the thermal stability of AMB. At the same time, lactose monohydrate contributes to faster degradation of AMB and change in decomposition mechanism. It was found that the n-th order kinetic model mechanistically best describes the decomposition process of pure AMB and in Flavamed® tablets
Thermal Stability of Amorphous Solid Dispersions
Amorphous solid dispersion drug delivery systems (ASD DDS) were proved to be efficient for the enhancement of solubility and bioavailability of poorly water-soluble drugs. One of the major keys for successful preparation of ASD is the selection of appropriate excipients, mostly polymers, which have a crucial role in improving drug solubility and its physical stability. Even though, excipients should be chemically inert, there is some evidence that polymers can affect the thermal stability of active pharmaceutical ingredients (API). The thermal stability of a drug is closely related to the shelf-life of pharmaceutical products and therefore it is a matter of high pharmaceutical relevance. An overview of thermal stability of amorphous solids is provided in this paper. Evaluation of thermal stability of amorphous solid dispersion is perceived from the physicochemical perspective, from a kinetic (motions) and thermodynamic (energy) point of view, focusing on activation energy and fragility, as well all other relevant parameters for ASD design, with a glance on computational kinetic analysis of solid-state decomposition

Non-Isothermal Degradation of Vitamin C by Simultaneous Thermogravimetric and Differential Thermal Analysis
The non-isothermal degradation process of Vitamin C (Galenika, Serbia) was investigated by simultaneous thermogravimetric and differential thermal analysis (TG-DTA), in the temperature range from an ambient one up to 650°C. The scope of presented work is toward stability of active pharmaceutical substance – ascorbic acid and calculation of all relevants kinetics parameters: activation energy (Ea), pre-exponential factor (A) and half-time (t1/2) for stability assesment in explored formulation. It was established that the degradation proceeds through five degradation stages (designated as I, II, III, IV and V), which involve: the dehydration, the melting of ascorbic acid, as well as the decomposition of excipients present: microcrystalline cellulose, D-glucose, carboxymethylcellulose, magnesium stearate , lactose and corn starch. During thermal degradation, all excipients increase their thermal stability and some kind of solid-solid and/or solid-gas interaction occur. The kinetic parameters and reaction mechanism was determined for the II stage, where decomposition of ascorbic acid happened using powerfull kinetic software KINETICS05. Two approaches were used: isoconversional and modell fitting method. It was concluded that degradation of ascorbic acid is best described with N-th order model with Ea= 139.550kJ/mol, A= 1.9689∙1013s-1 and n=1.2132
